        전통의학 지식을 활용한 한약재 네트워크 분석 시스템의 확장

        In biomedical research area, various researches have been carried out to develop novel tools for analyzing biomedical interactions and relationships between compounds, proteins, genes, and diseases. In previous project, we built network of biomedical information related to herbal medicine and developed multidimensional analysis tools exploiting those relationship between data. However the previous system is not capable of building network of traditional medical knowledge of herbal medicine and analyzing it. In this paper, therefore, we aimed to expand the previous system by adopting traditional Korean medical knowledge. In order to design the expanded system, we analyzed the process of building network and user interfaces of the previous system as well as the database schema related to herbal medicine in traditional Korean medicine information portal (OASIS). The expanded system has two sided view of network. In the left side of view, there is traditional medical knowledge based network which is composed of herbal medicine, herbal prescription, efficacy, and target and provides links to the web contents of papers, prescriptions, monographs, and specimen of OASIS. The expanded K-herb network multidimensional analysis system by connecting traditional medical knowledge will be a useful network analysis tool to researchers in the traditional medical and biomedical area.

        한방 통계 시스템의 설계 및 구현

        The statistics of traditional korean medicine is essential aspects for the information based policy establishment and the evidence based traditional korean medicine research. But because the integrated statistics service of traditional korean medicine is not provided, people are hard to find out suitable statistics. Thus we analyzed the produced statistics from many ministries, classified it into 7 categories and extracted common fields from it. We designed the database schema by summary table dynamic production method from the analysis of statistics and designed the system composed of excel import, statistics analysis, chart creation and search engine. Finally we implemented the statistics system of traditional korean medicine which users are capable of modifying the statistics data freely. We hope that the implemented system will provide pliability in searching and finding statistical information. 한의학 통계의 생산, 관리 및 제공은 구체적이고 객관적인 데이터를 활용한 한의학 정책의 수립과 근거에 기반한 한의학 연구를 위해 필수적인 요소이다. 그러나 현재 한방 통계 서비스는 정부와 민간의 유관 단체가 산별적으로 제공하는 상황에서 체계적이고 통합적인 서비스가 이루어지고 있지 않기 때문에 이용자는 신뢰할 수 있으며 유용한 가치를 가진 데이터의 검색, 획득 및 활용에 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 연구는 각 기관에서 생산하는 한의학 관련 통계자료를 분석하여 이용자가 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 한방 통계를 7가지 분야로 구분하고, 분야별 서비스 통계 항목을 분석하였다. 서비스 이용에 대한 시나리오 설계를 바탕으로 요약 테이블 동적생성기법을 이용하여 데이터베이스를 설계하였으며 Excel Import, Statistics Analysis, Chart Creation, Search Engine의 4개 모듈로 이루어진 시스템을 설계하여 사용자가 원하는 형태의 통계 가공 기능을 제공하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 한방 통계 시스템은 사용자에게 필요한 통계를 검색하고 통계 정보를 획득하는데 많은 유연성을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

        Study on Improving Oriental Medicine Statistical System for Multidimensional Statistical Data

        Oriental medicine statistics are essential in research planning, research evaluation, and policy decision based on objective data. However, integrated administration of such statistics is not presently possible in the oriental medicine field, which has been slow in incorporating information communication technology. In an effort to address this problem, the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) developed an oriental medicine statistical system in 2009, and the system has been offered in the traditional medicine information portal of OASIS. However, according to a 2010 survey targeting OASIS users, those surveys reported that needs for a system where various statistical data can be extracted via an interactive approach to multidimensional data. As a result of an analysis of the functions of the existing system, it was found that it is necessary to array and arithmetically analyze Stats Value, Drill Up & Drill Down, and Pivot. To this end, the existing DB schema should be redesigned. Based on our analysis result, we redesigned the database into a structure that is applicable to the reverse pivot algorithm. We used J2EE/JSP and a Flex framework to design and develop an oriental medicine statistical system that can provide multidimensional statistical data. Considering that the improved oriental medicine statistical system is planned to be offered by OASIS of KIOM, utilization and value of oriental medicine statistical data are expected to be enhanced.

      • 한의학술논문 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 입력 및 검수 시스템 개발

        Objectives : KIOM(Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine) built up korean medical paper database and services it through information portal OASIS. The database are updated about 1,600 papers and 48,000 references annually. Because lots of manpower and time are needed to update database, it is very important to raise up efficiency and quality of it. Methods : In this paper, we implemented web based database building system utilizing pre-built OASIS' database to improve the working process, data quality and ease of management. Results : First we designed and implemented web based system to input bibliography of the paper efficiently. It raised efficiency using OASIS' paper and reference database. Second we improved the refining process using web based system to raise up data quality. And third we developed the manager functions of web based system to control and check the working process. Conclusions : If we add korean medical dictionary and link outside paper database in the future, we hope that work efficiency and data quality will be raised more. And because the database schema of OASIS system and developed system are different, we are implementing the data transformation system.

        한약처방 정보 검색 시스템 구축

        Objectives : This study aimed to build up information system for the 25 cases of Korean Medicine (KM) prescriptions which are used mostly often in clinic and aimed to offer information about its effect and safety to public and researcher. Methods : We used KM prescription data-bank which came from 'The Bio-informatics for herbal formula' and 'The evidence based medicine for herbal formula' projects of Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) Results : First, we analyzed prescription data and categorized 7 classes, then we built up prescription database based on it. Second, we designed and developed user functions of prescription information system, then we link it to OASIS. Third, we developed adminstration system to manage the prescription data. Conclusions : From this study we hope that KM prescription information system will be used for fusion research based on KM. Because the implemented system is linked to OASIS, we expect it will be widely used.

        Approach for visualizing research trends: three-dimensional visualization of documents and analysis of relative vitalization

        This paper proposes an approach for visualizing research trends using theme maps and extra information. The proposed algorithm includes the following steps. First, text mining is used to construct a vector space of keywords. Second, correspondence analysis is employed to reduce high-dimensionality and to express relationships between documents and keywords. Third, kernel density estimation is applied in order to generate three-dimensional data that can show the concentration of the set of documents. Fourth, a cartographical concept is adapted for visualizing research trends. Finally, relative vitalization information is provided for more accurate research trend analysis. The algorithm of the proposed approach is tested using papers about Traditional Korean Medicine.

        An Edutainment Game Prototype for Sasang Constitutional Food Therapy

        Objective : Recently many kinds of food therapies have sprung up to prevent or manage disease and to promote health. Seeing Korean history, the Korean medical doctors have been applying food therapy based on the thought that the dietary sources were as important as the medicine. Therefore, in this study, we designed a mobile edutainment game prototype with the goal of providing education about healthy food knowledge for users who belongs to different constitutional types. Materials and Method : We adopted the Sasang Constitutional Medicine as the medical background knowledge for our edutainment game design. Based on the user study, we developed the process of edutainment system which is composed of ‘My game’, ‘My constitution’, and ‘My food’. Among the whole process, we developed a prototype for the core module – the ‘My game’ part. This prototype used a jumping game for mobile devices that is composed of training, level 1 and level 2 stages. Results : From the target user evaluation, it was proved that 1) in terms of the learning effect of healthy diet, the edutainment game we developed has a significant advantage over the conventional learning media. 2) after playing the edutainment game, the good and bad food identification accuracy based on picture and text format were increased by 44% and 42% respectively, and 3) target users perceived enjoyment while using this prototype, as well as showed positive intention to use this game as edutainment tool in the future. Conclusion : We designed and developed mobile edutainment game prototype to educate healthy food knowledge based on Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Through user evaluation, we proved that our prototype enhanced healthy food knowledge and that user accepted the prototype as a beneficial edutainment tool.

        한의학 증상 질의 확장을 위한 단어 임베딩 기반의 클러스터링 기법

        In the information age, smart search is essential due to the enormous amount of accumulated information. However most of the query entered into search engines are general nouns with various meanings and are only about 2.4 words on average, making it difficult for search engines to grasp the exact search intention of users. To mitigate this situation, figuring out exact search intention of users is supported by query expansion. In order to develop the query expansion of Korean Medicine clinical decision support system (KM-CDSS), we suggest novel algorithm that consist of 4 steps; first, symptom names are extracted from the prescription information fetched by the initial query. second, extracted symptoms are embedded into a vector space. third, vector space are clustered and each cluster’s quality is evaluated by silhouette coefficient. finally, each words which are laid nearest to the center is suggested as representative symptom. In the experiments, we examined relevance and comprehensiveness qualitatively by KM doctors and utility are analyzed quantitatively. The results of the evaluation of the three indicators were analyzed in an integrated manner. The proposed model showed good enough results in relevance and comprehensiveness test and best result in utility test. It turned out that the proposed model is most suitable as a query expansion model for KM-CDSS. If user search logs are collected in the future, it is expected that related search words will be provided in more sophisticated ways through improved query expansion.

        한.양방 협진 정보시스템 구축방안 연구

        Background : Recently, Medical Act was amended to encourage the induction of combined treatment between Oriental Medicine doctors and Western doctors. As yet, the information infra for combined treatment has not been studied. Objectives : This study aimed to design the architecture of information system for combined treatment of the Oriental and the Western Medicine. Methods : First, we defined the information of combined treatment through the analysis of research trends from the inside and outside of the country. Because the data compatibility is very important, the definition of information must be ahead of anything else. Second, we designed the architecture of information system based on the prior definition. Results : We classified the information for combined treatment by subject such as law, clinic, research, manpower, facilities, and education. In this paper information system examined in three aspects. First the infra layer is organized as hardware, netware, and security. Second is data warehouse layer for the storing, filtering, and extraction of data. Third is service layer which is related to data transmission. And Finally all information for combined treatment is provided through the portal system for medical consumer, political planner, and R&D researcher. Conclusion : In this paper, we studied the essential factors of combined treatment information in the view point of information system. But the detailed design and implementation of information system must be followed to effect this results.

        한의학 연구 데이터 관리 및 공유를 위한 메타데이터 요소 설계

        This research makes the metadata element design for Korean medicine research data management and re-use. Derived metadata elements are verified in research data of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. TTAK.K0-10.0976 Standard, DataCite metadata Schema and National Research Data Platform of KISTI were analyzed to derive the metadata elements. Including Identifier, 27 elements were derived as top-level elements with 29 mandatory elements, 13 recommended elements and 31 optional elements. The degree of elements’ necessity and new metadata elements were investigated and suggested in the survey by six domain experts in korean medicine field. In this study subject classification for the korean medicine research data are suggested. The final version of metadata schema was tested and verified by comparing with the legacy metadata fields. The research results can be used to describe the Korean medicine research data: items and files. 본 연구에서는 한의학 연구 데이터 관리 및 공유를 위한 메타데이터 요소를 설계하고 한국한의학연구원에서 생산되는 연구 데이터를 대상으로 요소검증을 수행하였다. TTAK.K0-10.0976 표준과 DataCite 메타데이터 스키마, 한국과학기술정보연구원의 국가 연구 데이터플랫폼 스키마를 대상으로 메타데이터 요소를 도출하였다. 최상위 요소로서 Identifier를 포함한 27개 요소가 도출되었으며, 필수요소 29개, 권고요소 13개, 선택요소 31개를 도출하였다. 한의학 관련 분야별 전문가 6인을 대상으로 도출요소에 대한 필요성 정도를 조사하였으며, 추가적인 메타데이터 요소를 제안 받아 검토하였다. 한의학 연구 데이터 주제 분류를 제안하였으며, 최종 제안하는 메타데이터 요소로 현재 운영 중인 시스템의 메타데이터 수용여부를 검증하였다. 본 연구결과는 향후 한국한의학연구원에 구축되는 데이터 리포지터리에 아이템과 파일을 기술하기 위한 메타데이터 스키마로 활용될 수 있다.
