Post-Colonial women"s novels are the result of the meeting of post-colonial and feminism. They point out the composition of exploitation and trace of conspiracy deeply rooted in the independent and liberal transcription of our novels. Post-colonial feminism introspects the relation of men and women as the rulers and the colonists. Since the most of women have been considered as “the third party”, metaphorically “colonized beings” or “inferior individuals”, post-colonial writing and women"s writing have close correlation.
Feminine writing refuses to be the women reflected by men-centered viewpoint as the deficient, and reveals the feminine nature of indigenous desire of women from the female-centered point of view. In this point, women"s writing and post-colonial writing are closely connected together.
By reading the post-colonial women novel prospect, I"ve researched whether the women"s novels have structured the substantial foundation as well as their remarkable external growth in this essay. While the early post-colonial women"s novels were interested in the direct interchange of women"s reality and social contradiction, recent ones try to disclose more complex critical mind through setting up various contradictions which are secretly hidden by our daily lives. By looking up the gradual transfiguration aspects, it"s not hard to realize that how dangerous it was to diagnose the condition of women"s novel just by putting it in to the frame of the conflict between Western imperialistic culture and colonial culture. Since the post-colonial situations of the day have a property of continuous complexity and fluid states, post-colonial women"s novels are positioned on the phase of various possibility. It"s asked to be able to describe the aspects of colonization, re-colonization, and post-colonization which are more complicatedly accelerated in the point of “the inferior beings”.
Therefore, in the reality where the post-colonial reality and contradictions are multi-layered, female authors are required to objectify their own experiences and try to write various styles of writing to establish the real identity by suggesting new alternatives. With the work of retrieving the women"s words, post-colonial women"s novels are asked to have insight to see the various points of feminine subject in this progressing global era and find their own language.

This study is to interpret the feature of discourse of 1930's female novels. Through integrated methodology based on feminism, the feature of discourse of 1930's female novels (Gang-gyung-aeㆍBaeg-sin-aeㆍChoi-jung-heeㆍPark-hwasungㆍLee-sun-hee) are interpreted by comparing the language of all textuality. 1930's female novels had various kinds of writing strategies, such as self reflective writing, which creates a space objectifying women's own experiences and establishing their own identities. Gang-gyung-ae established the identity through the discourse of confession. Choi-jung-hee refused the painful situations by the autobiograpic language. Park-hwa-sung revealed the painful antinomic situations by the ideological language. And Lee-sun-hee represnted all aspects of pressure of body and desire of the female in the masculinist society. These various features of discoures in 1930's female novels can reveal an alternative plan on how and where our literature should develop. This thesis also points out that some clues for understanding the literary achievements of 1930's female writers by observing the links and changes in female literature.

The Arabidopsis nucleoside diphosphate kinase 2 ( AtNDPK2 ) gene is known to regulate the cellular redox state, and toenhance tolerance to multiple stressors in plants. In this study, we transferred AtNDPK2 under the stress-inducible promoterSWPA2 into Ardisia pusilla to enhance the plants’ ability to detoxify toluene gas. Thirty transgenic A. pusilla lines wereconfi rmed by PCR analysis with AtNDPK2 and NPTII gene-specifi c primers. In addition, four transgenic A. pusilla lineswere further confi rmed by Southern blot analysis to verify the gene copy number. Three transgenic lines showed a singlecopytransgene insertion, and one transgenic line had two transgene insertions. To test the gene expression of AtNDPK2 inthe transgenic A. pusilla lines exposed to and not exposed to toluene treatment, qRT-PCR analysis was performed. The geneexpression of AtNDPK2 in transgenic A. pusilla plants exposed to toluene treatment was signifi cantly higher than that oftransgenic plants not exposed to toluene treatment. Finally, we measured toluene removal effi ciency of the transgenic andnon-transgenic A. pusilla lines exposed to toluene-contaminated air. There was a statistically signifi cant diff erence betweenthe transgenic and non-transgenic A. pusilla lines at all time points ( p < 0.001). The highest toluene removal effi ciency(797.33 ± 59.41 μg m −3 cm −2 leaf area) was recorded in the transgenic A. pusilla line NDPK2-12-4 after 3 h of exposure totoluene, while the non-transgenic line showed little toluene removal effi ciency (206.2 ± 31.19 μg m −3 cm −2 leaf area). Theseresults suggest that the capacity for detoxifying toluene gas is related to the AtNDPK2 gene in A. pusilla . Therefore, thisstudy provides useful results to reduce toluene pollution in indoor air.

This study was conducted to induce somatic embryogenic callus (SEC) derived from petals in rose. The petal explants of 3 cultivars ('Ice Wing', 'Orange Eye' and 'Pink Beauty') with different flower colors were placed on three types media (MS, SH and WPM) supplemented with 11 mg/L 2,4-D, respectively, and then cultured in the dark for 47 days. Calluses were formed at explants of all three cultivars. Also, 'Ice Wing', which were cultured in the SH as the basal medium, showed the highest callus formation rate. However, somatic embryos were generated from only petal-derived callus of 'Ice Wing', which were induced on the WPM as the basal medium, transferred it to SH basal medium supplemented with 3 mg/L 2,4-D, and 300 mg/L L-proline, and cultured for 5 weeks. The SEC has been proliferated every four weeks at the subculture interval. In addition, as a results of making a comparison of expression of RhSERK3 and RhSERK4, which is used as signal for generation of somatic embryo from callus in rose, between the SEC and petal-derived callus from 'Ice Wing' by RT-qPCR, the former showed 10 times higher RhSERK3 expression and 700 times higher RhSERK4 expression than the latter.
