Middle ear adenoma with neuroendocrine differentiation (carcinoid tumor) is a rare benign tumor of the tympanic cavity. Carcinoid tumor is generally derived from primitive stem cells in the gut wall but can be seen in other organs, including the lungs, mediastinum, thymus, liver, pancreas, bronchus, ovaries, prostate, and kidneys. This is unusual considering neuroendocrine cells have not been identified in normal or inflamed middle ear mucosa. Carcinoid tumor of the middle ear represents a class within the spectrum of adenomatous neoplasms. Immunohistochemical techniques have helped clarify that these tumors all share elements of neuroendocrine differentiation. Although histologic and biological similarities with middle ear adenoma exist, carcinoid tumor of the middle ear should be classified as a well-differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma because the carcinoid tumor has higher rate of recurrence and incidence of metastasis than middle ear adenoma. Surgical management is the recommended treatment and long-term observation is necessary.

Hematopoietic neoplasms of the larynx constitute less than 1% of all laryngeal tumors. Most of them are extramedullary plasmocytomas, diffuse large B cell lymphomas or MALT-type marginal zone B-cell lymphomas. Peripheral T-cell lymphomas, not other specified (NOS) are rare malignancies with poor outcome after conventional chemotherapy. The diagnosis of laryngeal lymphomas is a challenge, due to the absence of clinical and gross differential criteria. A pathological study is required in all cases. We present hereby an unusual peripheral laryngeal T-cell lymphoma, NOS with literature. (J Clinical Otolaryngol 2010;21:274-278)

In this paper, a novel low-power RTOS scheduling algorithm is proposed. conventional task scheduling protocols prevent chain of blocking at the cost of unnecessary context switch. The proposed algorithm backs up context of a task at critical section into TCB of the task. these activities reduce the number of context switch, and reduce number of context switch results in low-power consumption. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm consume energy less than conventional algorithms by 30%.

When the formative construct is placed in the endogenous position, there are clear theoretical, mathematical, and empirical issues in model estimation. Nonetheless, scholars who have adopted structural equation modeling for empirical research and those who are engaged in debates on the viability of formative modeling fail to recognize the fundamental problems of employing formative measurement in the endogenous position. This manuscript is intended to set a corrective path by discussing three reasons why this frequented practice may be avoided in both theoretical and empirical research.
