        Laser Scanning Unit을 위한 8빔 레이저 다이오드 개발

        레이저 프린터 및 OA복합기기 내부의 감광 드럼에 빛을 조사하는 핵심 광 모듈인 Laser Scanning Unit(LSU)의 광원으로 사용할 수 있는 발진파장 780 nm, 광 출력 10 mW의 모노리식 집적형 8빔 레이저 다이오드를 개발하였다. 개발된 8-빔 소자의 레이저 빔들의 각각의 물리적 간격은 $30\;{\mu}m$ 이며, 각 빔을 독립적으로 작동시키기 위해서, 공중배선공정을 신규로 개발하였다. 개발된 8빔 레이저 다이오드의 전기 및 광학적 특성 측정 결과 레이저 프린터 및 복합기의 LSU에 사용 가능함을 검증하였다. A 780 nm monolithic individually addressable 8-beam diode laser with 10mW optical power was developed for use in a laser scanning unit. Beam to beam spacing is $30\;{\mu}m$ and an air bridge interconnection process was developed for individual operations. From electrical and optical characteristic measurements, the developed device is a suitable optical source for a high speed laser scanning unit in multi-function printing systems and laser beam printers.

        PANM 데이터베이스 업데이트 (Version 5.1) : 연체동물 전사체 서열 분석의 정확도 증진을 위한 오염되어진 곰팡이 유전자 서열 검색기능 추가

        The PANM database (Protostome DB) is a public repository of protein sequences available from the Protostomia group (includes Arthropoda, Mollusca, and Nematoda). The latest version of PANM DB v5.0 (released in 2022) contained 21,276,123 protein sequences that comprised 4% of the total NCBInr protein data. In this study, an update of PANM DB, i.e., version 5.1, is presented that could accurately analyze the large-scale transcriptome data of molluscs for the contaminating fungal gene sequences. This version can filter out the fungal genes, thereby restricting the annotation to molluscs-only sequences. Using the database, we confirmed 1,589,546 amino acid sequences from 32 fungal species, which can be essentially filtered from the unigenes of 20 species of endangered molluscs. In general, the updated version of PANM DB is expected to enhance the accuracy of bioinformatics analyses of invertebrate NGS data, providing a valuable resource for researchers. PANM version 5.1 can be downloaded for free at https://panm.sch.ac.kr/ for local BLAST analysis.

        Al-Ta 합금박막의 구조적 인자가 전기적 특성 및 발열 특성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 RF-Magnetron Sputtering 장치를 이용하여 $Al_xTa_{1-x} (x=0.0{\~}1.0)$ 합금박막을 성장하였고, XRD, AFM, 4탐침법 등을 사용하여 시료의 결정질과 표면형상, 그리고 전기적 특성을 분석하였다. Al 조성을 변화시켜서 Al-Ta 합금박막을 증착하고, 그에 따라 얻어진 결과를 토대로 하여 박막 두께별 ,박막의 폭 별로 합금박막을 성장하였다. 또한 heat controller를 사용하여 시료의 발열특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 Al-Ta 합금박막은 Al 조성 $x=6.63at\%$에서 가장 높은 전기저항이 나타났고, 박막두께가 얇아지거나 패터닝된 박막의 폭이 좁을수록 더욱 높은 전기저항이 나타났다. 발열온도는 전기저항의 변화추이와 동일한 양상을 보였고, Al 조성 $x=6.63\%$, 박막두께 d=500 nm, 박막폭 w=1.5 mm에서 가장 높은 발열온도 ($400^{\circ}C$)와 출력 ($12.6W/cm^2$)을 나타냈다. The $Al_xTa_{1-x} (x=0.0{\~}1.0)$ alloy thin films were deposited by RF-magnetron sputtering system, and the crystal quality, surface morphology, and electrical properties were examined using XRD, AFM, 4-point probe techniques in this study. The thin films were grown according to the alloy compositions first, and the effects of film thickness and mask patterns were investigated afterwards. Also, the heating characteristics were examined by heat controller. The obtained results showed that the high electrical resistivity was obtained for Al content $x=6.63at\%$, and the even higher resistivity was accomplished for the samples with smaller thickness and narrower width. The heating temperature demonstrated the identical trend to the electrical properties, and the highest heating temperature ($400^{\circ}C$) and output power ($12.6W/cm^2$) were obtained for the sample with Al content $x=6.63\%$, film thickness d=500 nm, film width w=1.5 mm.

        생물정보학을 활용한 멸종위기 연체동물 전사체 서열에 오염된 곰팡이 유전자 발굴

        The amount of data is growing very fast as advances in NGS technology enable the acquisition of large amounts of genome and transcriptome data. Moreover, the accuracy and speed of bioinformatic analysis of NGS data remains of great importance these days. However, the sequence database of mollusks is fall short of other organisms groups, and it thus appears that the annotation results after BLAST analysis are not accurate and reliable due to potential contamination with fungal sequences in mollusks sequence database. In this context, we constructed a BLAST database with 20 species of mollusk unigene sequences and 32 species of fungal sequences derived from previous studies. In order to confirm the contamination of fungal gene sequences in the unigenes of 20 endangered species, bioinformatics analysis was performed using BLAST. It reveals that the NGS sequences of mollusks are mixed with fungal sequences. Taken together, our results suggest that it is essential to reconfirm mollusks sequence information before publication.

        코끼리조개 (Panopea japonica) 의 Metallothionein 유전자를 활용한 분자계통학적 연구

        Metallothionein (MT) plays an important role in protecting cells from harmful substances. MT is a protein with less than seven kDa with large amounts of cysteine residues, which have been studied as a phylogenetic biomarker with unique patterns not only in vertebrates but also in Mollusca. Panopea japonica is a giant clam that lives on the coast of the East Sea in Korea. Nevertheless, little research has been done on the genetic resources of P. japonica, and the amount of genetic information registered in the NCBI is very limited. In this study, a metallothionein sequence consisting of 74 amino acids with 222 bp nucleotide was obtained from the transcriptome data by using the GS FLX 454 platform. In Silico analysis of PjMT gene was conducted with ClustalX and MEGAX programs. With the previously reported Mollusca MT data, we verified the PjMT sequence as a potential candidate for molecular marker, and also confirmed that PjMT was clustered in Myoida order.

        E-Magnetron 스퍼터링에 의한 $Al_xTa_{1-x}$ 합금박막의 성장 및 구조적, 전기적 특성 분석

        본 연구에서는 RF-Magnetron 스퍼터링 장치를 이용하여 $Al_xTa_{1-x}$(x=0.0∼1.0) 합금박막을 성장하였고, 4탐침법, XRD, AFM, micro-Vickers 미소경도계를 사용하여 시료의 구조적, 기계적, 전기적 특성을 분석하였다. Al조성 x=0.245(Al 24.5 at.%)에서 전기저항이 가장 높게 나타났고, 결정질이 가장 우수하였다. 표면 hillock에 있어서는 낮은 Al 조성영 역에서는 x가 증가할수록 hillock이 감소하다가, x=0.245에서 hillock이 완전히 배제되었고, 이후 x 증가에 따라 hillock 밀도가 다시 급격히 증가하였다. 미소경도의 경우, Al조성 x=0.2∼0.45의 영역에서 가장 높은 경도값이 측정되었다. 본 연구의 모든 결과를 종합적으로 고려할 때, $Al_xTa_{1-x}$ 합금박막의 결정질, 전기저항, 표면형상, 미소경도는 상호 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있었으며, Al 조성 x=0.245에서 가장 우수한 물리적 특성이 나타났다. In this study, $Al_xTa_{1-x}$(x=0.0∼1.0) alloy thin films were grown by RF-Magnetron sputtering system, and the structural, mechanical and electrical properties of samples were examined by 4-point probe, XRD, AFM and micro-Vickers hardness profiler. The electrical resistivity was maximum and the crystal quality was optimum for the samples with Al content x=0.245 (Al 24.5 at.%). Regarding the surface hillock formation, the hillock density decreased with an increase of Al content for the low Al content range, and the hillock was eliminated for the sample with Al=24.5 at.%. The hillock density increased with the further increase of Al content. The high values of micro-Vickers hardness were obtained for the samples with x=0.2∼0.45. The results obtained demonstrate that the crystal quality, electrical resistivity, surface morphology and micro-hardness are closely inter-related, and that the optimum physical properties are obtained for the sample with x=0.245.

      • 영어 어휘 학습의 자기주도성과 ICT에 관한 고찰

        The major purpose of this study is to explore an efficient framework for English vocabulary learning that can lead learners to a self-directed acquisition using ICT(information & communication technology). Currently, many students in Korea learn English vocabulary through teacher-centered classes and make little progress in expanding their vocabulary capabilities. To offer an alternative to those learners, this research proposed a framework for self-directed English vocabulary learning based on ICT that can help learners acquire effective strategies that can enhance their ability to increase English vocabulary. The enhancement of the English vocabulary learning skill is ensured by the concept of self-directed learning process. This concept enables the learners to promote their autonomous motivation and self responsibility for English vocabulary learning by self-directed learning environments. ICT can provide a learning environment suitable for promoting vocabulary learning skills. Learners can foster a keen interest and upgraded motivation to learn English vocabulary when absorbed in the ICT-assisted learning environment. ICT-based vocabulary learning might become a viable alternative to encourage output-based and learner-centered learning process.

      • 실리콘 폴리 우레아 수지를 활용한 방오도료 연구

        Biofouling is the undesirable accumulation of marine organisms such as benthic microorganisms, plants, algae, mollusks on a man-made structure. They can increase both the hydrodynamic volume and the frictional effects leading to increased drag of up to 60% when they accumulate on the surface of ship hull. Antifouling (AF) coatings use in ship hulls, fish nets and other marine structures to avoid those problems. However, the coating designed with organic or inorganic substances which are not only attached fouilng organisms but attacking to non-target marine species. This study, the antifouling candidates of hexadecanol, octanol, thymol and hemogrlobin formulated with low frictional copolymer of silicon polyurea that were screened for antifouling activities. In the result of antibacterial activity, all of the AF candidates had activities showed the clear clean zone. Most activity was ocatdecanol which had 4.7 times higher than others. The test of antimicroalgal activity used in microalgae Navicula cancellata. Hexadecanol was 0.25 times higher than control. Attachment test of macroalgal spores of Ulva intestinalis, four AF candidates had strong activity which showed no spore attachments. Further studies are needed to investigate the AF mechanism of those candidates to use it most effectively in environmentally acceptable AF coatings.

        6개국 (호주, 중국, 일본, 미얀마, 영국, 베트남) 산 수입 대상 복족류의 분자 계통학적 연구

        About 85,000 species of gastropods are known around the world, and the imports rate about edible gastropods are on the rise every year in Korea. The system will be needed to reflect taxonomic diversity about similar gastropoda groups. Because inaccurate information about edible species can cause serious problems in market. In this study, to cope with this problem, a study was conducted to accurately identify gastropods, and selected six target country with a large imported rate of edible gastropods in Korea. The collected gastropods were classified into 8 orders, 22 families and 33 species, including unrecorded in Korea, and were identified by morphological classification. Sequence analysis of the COI gene was performed for all collected species by COI universal primer. The result of molecular phylogenetic analysis and morphological classification result are similar. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that most gastropoda species can be identified using universal primers for gastropod COI sequences, and will be used as data for species identification of gastropods in the future.
