N/A Since 1976, 2185 cases of ERCP were performed at the Kwangju Christian Hosptial. From December 1981 to August 1986, 194 cases of endoscopic sphincteropapillotomy (EST) were performed. Following results were obtained: 1) In 194 cases of EST, CBD stones were noted in 168 cases, ascaris in common bile duct in 16 cases, clonorchiasis in 4 cases, fibrotic stenosis of a periampullary choledocho-duodenal fistula in 1 case, and pancreatic duct stones in 4 cases. 2) Results of EST; 5 cases of stones were removed by Dormia basket under direct visualization, 61 cases were passed in stool, 66 cases were confirmed at ERCP or T-tube cholangiogrphy. In 46 cases, stones were not removed but symptoms and laboratory findings showed improvement. 3) Complication of EST; 4 cases of bleeding and 1 case of peritonitis were treated by operation, 1 case of acute pancreatitis with pancreatic pseudocyst was treated by medication, 1 case of sepsis due to cholangitis was expired. And 5 cases of recurrent cholangitis, and 2 cases of recurrent pancreatitis were noted. 4) With technical improvement in EST, we could control bleeding and acute pancreatitis with a pancreatic pseudocyst due to an impacted stone and perform EST successfully in the cases with periampullary diverticula. 5) At last, although we could follow up only for 2 years, would expect that we use more EST for recurrent CBD stones.

Overproduction of Human Interleukin-2 in E. coli

본 논문에 앞서 사람 인터루킨-2(IL-2)의 cDNA 클론을 분리하였음을 보고하였다 (강성만 등, 1987). 본 보고에서는 이 cDNA클론을 이용하여 E. coli 에서 인터루킨-2를 발현시킨 결과를 보고한다. E. coli 에서 인터루킨-2를 생산하기 위하여 플라스미드 pNK2를 만들었다. 이 플라스미드에는 인터루킨-2를 코딩하는 유전자가 람다파아지의 $P_L$ 프로모터의 조절을 받도록 클로닝 되어 있다. 온도감수성 억제유전자(${\lambda}$ cIts857)를 만드는 E. coli lysogen 균주에 플라스미드 pNK2를 transformation 시켰다. 인터루킨-2의 발현을 유도하기 위하여 배양온도를 $42^{\circ}C$로 올렸을 때 세포내에 inclusion body가 형성되었음이 관찰되었다. 재조합된 유전자를 지난 E. coli에서 합성된 단백질을 SDS-폴리아크릴아마이드 젤에서 분리하였을 때 인터루킨-2의 분자량에 해당하는 15 Kd의 단백질이 관찰되었다. 이 단백질이 인터루킨-2의 활성을 지니고 있음을 인터루킨 의존성 cell line인 MTL 세포의 성장을 촉진시키는 것으로서 확인하였다. 즉 이 15 Kd 분자량의 단백질이 E. coli에서 생산된 재조합 인터루킨-2임을 보였다. 이 인터루킨-2 단백질은 E. coli 에서 생산된 총 단백질의 약 20% 에 해당하였다. The inclusion bodies were observed in recombinant E. coli cells after induction. When the proteins of the recombinant cells were separated on a SDS-polyacrylamide gel, a 15Kd protein band corresponding to the M.W. of IL-2 was observed. The 15Kd protein showed IL-2 activity as determined by the growth romoting effect on a IL-2 dependent cell line MTL. Therefore, it was demonstrated that the 15Kd protein was recombinant IL-2 produced in E. coli. The recombinant IL-2 represented about 20% of the total E. coli protein.

전맹 대학생과 정안 대학생의 음악 감상 경험에 대한 언어적 서술 비교

본 연구는 전맹 대학생과 정안 대학생의 음악 감상 경험에 대한 언어적 서술을 비교 분석하여 그 특성을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울 및 충청권역에 소재한 대학에 재학중인 전맹인 10명, 정안인 10명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하여 내용 분석한 결과 첫째, 전맹 대학생 집단에서 시각지향성 버벌리즘이 관찰되어 정안 대학생과 동일한 수준의 경험이 가능한 음악적 상황에서도 버벌리즘이 발현된 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 일상생활에서 자연스럽게 획득한 맥락적 정보를 기반으로 한 버벌리즘이 매체나 학습에 의한 것보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 서술 형태를 살펴보기 위해 실시한 한글 글분석 프로그램(K-LIWC)에서 전맹 대학생은 대명사를 유의하게 많이 사용하며, 부정적 정서 표현의 빈도가 정안 대학생에 비해 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 전맹 대학생 집단에서 정동적 서술과 시각 이외의 감각적 서술이 정안 대학생에 비해 높은 빈도를 보였다. 마지막으로, 음악에 대한 일화적 기억과 상황적 묘사에서 전맹 대학생은 상황적 묘사가 많은 반면 정안 대학생은 일화적 기억에 대한 서술빈도가 높았다. The aim of this study is to analyze the types of language used by college students with and without visual impairments. Participants of the in-depth interviews were students at universities in Seoul and Chungcheong-do. Ten participants were visually impaired and the other ten were normal sighted. Content analysis of the in-depth interviews revealed the following implications. First, visually oriented verbalism is observed among visually impaired people even when they can experience the same level of musical experience with normal sighted people. Highly observed is verbalism by contextual information which is naturally obtained in daily life, rather than verbalism by the media, or by learning. Second, K-LIWC was employed to examine the types of verbal description between comparing groups, high ratio of use of pronouns in the visually impaired was observed as well as that of the description of negative emotions. Third, compared to normal sighted people, visually impaired people more frequently use affective description and description via senses except vision. Through non-vision senses that substitute or compensate visual impairment, the visually impaired understand and express emotions that the normal sighted feel through vision. Last, in regards to episodic memory and situational depiction, normal sighted people frequently narrate episodic memories, while visually impaired people rather focus on situational depiction.

출혈성 식도 정맥류의 내시경적 요법에 대한 연구

N/A Hemorrhage from esophageal varices is a difficult problem for which there is no completely solution, Sixty-three patients (eight-five cases) have been treated with endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS). All patients had documented variceal hemorrhage and underwent EIS while bleeding or shortly thereafter. The observed results are summarized as follows: 1) The duration of EIS from onset of hematmesis and/or melena was within 72 hours mostly, and the frequency of EIS was one to six times. 2) There were no noticable changes in Hemoglobin, SGOT, Serum bilirubin and serum albumin before and after EIS. 3) The amounts of blood transfusion was decreased significantly after EIS. 4) There were mild complications after EIS, but were serious complication or death relate to EIS. 5) The mortality rate was 13% in follow up period. Based on these results, we concluded that EIS is recommanded for managing variceal hemorrhage with- out serious complication.

A fifty-five year old male was admitted because of fever and chill for one month. He complained of upper abdominal pain, malaise, anorexia and weight loss. So diagnostic procedures were performed: stool exam., bload chemistry testing, ultrasonography, radionuclide scintigraphy. ERCP, abdominal CT, and sonoguided liver aspiration, which revealed intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma associated with clonorchiasis.
