        Surface modification of titanium with β-CD/polydopamine for a controlled release of lovastatin, and its effect on the enhanced osteogenic activity

        In this study, we prepared lovastatin (LV)-loaded b-cyclodextrin/polydopamine-coated titanium (Ti)discs and screw types (LV-ic-b-CD-pDOPA/Ti), evaluated its efficacy on the enhancement of osteogenicactivity in vitro and in vivo, as compared to pristine Ti and b-CD-pDOPA/Ti. The surface chemicalcompositions, surface morphology, wettability of these surfaces were characterized by XPS, SEM andcontact angle measurement, respectively. The initial burst of LV on LV-ic-b-CD-pDOPA/Ti occurred within1 day, followed by the release for 30 days in a sustained manner. Through in vitro tests, higher MC3T3-E1 cell proliferation rate and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, and larger calcium deposition wereobserved on LV-ic-b-CD-pDOPA/Ti. In vivo animal test and histological evaluation showed enhancedbone formation and osseointegration at the interface between LV-ic-b-CD-pDOPA/Ti and host bone. Consequently, we suggested that surface modification with LV on Ti implants as with LV-ic-b-CD-pDOPA/Ti modification could improve clinical performance for various orthopedic and dental implants

        토끼 눈에서 플라스민과 히알루론산분해효소의 약리적 유리체융해능력 비교

        Purpose: The aim of the present study was to quantify and compare the vitreolytic effect of plasmin, hyaluronidase, and a combination of the two. Methods: Thirty-six rabbits were randomized into 3 groups: (A) twelve rabbits had an intravitreal injection of plasmin 1 U with hyaluronidase 10 U/0.1 mL into the right eye, (B) twelve rabbits had an injection of plasmin alone (1 U/0.1 mL), and (C) twelve rabbits had an injection of hyaluronidase alone (10 U/0.1 mL). The left eye of each rabbit was used as control, which was injected with 0.1 mL phosphate buffered saline (PBS). The eyes were enucleated 1 hour and 24 hours after injection. The volume of fluid-type vitreous and gel-type vitreous was measured with a micropipette using the melting point as the difference. Statistical analysis was performed and light microscopy was used to assess potential damage to the retinal tissue. Results: The volume of remaining gel-type vitreous was measured as 52.5%, 60.3%, 59.2%, and 76.5% after 1 hour enucleation and as 44.6%, 56.7%, 56.1%, and 74.7%, after 24 hours enucleation in group A, B, C, and control group, respectively. Group A, B, and C showed statistically significant differences against the control group. Group A (plasmin with hyaluronidase) showed less remaining gel-type vitreous volume than a single injection of plasmin or hyaluronidase alone. Conclusions: Intravitreal injection of plasmin with hyaluronidase showed more vitreolytic effect than a single injection of plasmin or hyaluronidase alone. The enzyme may be useful in liquefying the vitreous, and may be a useful biochemical adjunct to vitrectomy. 목적: 플라스민, 히알루론산분해효소, 이들의 혼합물이 유리체를 융해시키는 능력을 알아보고자 한다. 대상과 방법: 36 마리의 토끼를 12마리씩 3군으로 나누고, 우안에 각각 플라스민, 히알루론산분해효소, 이들의 혼합물을 유리체강내 주사하고 좌안에 인산염완충생리식염수를 주사하여 대조안으로 삼았다. 전체 유리체 중 액화되지 않은 부피를 측정하여 대조안 및 각 군의 결과를 비교하였다. 결과: 대조군 36안에서 24시간 지난 후 겔 상태인 유리체 부피는 전체의 74.7±2.4%였다. 플라스민을 주사한 군에서 56.7±2.4%, 히알 루론산분해효소를 주사한 군에서 56.1±2.0%, 이들의 혼합액을 주사한 경우 44.6±2.1%의 겔 상태 유리체가 남았다. 각 군 모두 대조 안에 비해 유의하게 우수한 유리체융해능력이 관찰되었다(p<0.05). 플라스민과 히알루론산분해효소 각 군 간 비교에서 유리체융해능 력은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나 이들의 혼합물을 주입한 군에서 효소를 단독으로 주입한 군보다 유의하게 더 큰 유리체융해가 관찰되었다(p<0.05). 결론: 토끼 눈에서 플라스민과 히알루론산분해효소는 유리체를 액화시키는 능력이 있을 것으로 생각된다.

        시신경을 침범한 밀러피셔증후군

        Purpose: To report an extremely rare case of optic nerve involvement in Miller-Fisher syndrome. Case Summary: A 74-year-old woman presented to our clinic with decreased visual acuity in both eyes. Such symptoms started 1 month prior to her visit, after sudden onset of left-side motor power weakness and dysphasia. Following the initial symptoms, our patient consecutively experienced worsening dysphagia, ptosis, and lateral gaze limitation. We confirmed the diagnosis as Miller Fischer syndrome with a positive anti-GQ1b antibody serology. She received immunoglobulin treatment for 5 days in other departement. She visited our clinic due to continuing diplopia, decrease of visual acuity and gait disturbance. On initial examination, the corrected visual acuity was 0.5 in both eyes. Ptosis of both eyelids, esodeviation, limitation in ocular movement was noted. The fundoscopic examinations revealed relatively pale optic disc. There was decrease in color vision in both eyes. The visual evoked potential test showed low amplitude and delayed latency in P100 wave in both eyes. Two months after her initial visit to our department her symptoms started to improve, and after 4 months all the initial problems resolved completely and her corrected visual acuity checked out to be 0.8 in both eyes and VEP abnormality was recovered. Conclusions: It is extremely uncommon for Miller Fisher syndrome to involve the optic nerve. We present such a case of a 74-year-old woman whose symptoms improved 4 months after its first attack with treatment. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(12):1676-1680

        효율적인 웹 크롤링, 데이터 분석 및 시각화 서비스 연구

        The importance of information is increasing in all industries, from services and industries closely related to life, to the information and communication industry and agriculture, which seemed far from technology. A service that not only searches for information but also performs visualization according to relevance is needed, since there is a hassle of having to visit various sites, re-searching a large amount of information one by one or checking the relevance among data. In this study, we design and implement a one-stop service that enables various information can be viewed at a glance. After processing crawled data, we extract meaningful data through natural language processing, and conduct deep learning-based clustering and classification algorithm. Also, various visualization techniques are applied to the results. 생활과 밀접한 서비스, 산업들뿐만 아니라 정보통신 산업을 비롯하여 기술과 거리가 멀다고 느껴졌던 농업까지 모든 산업에서 정보의 중요성은 점점 더 커지고 있다. 인터넷으로 정보를 검색하여 양질의데이터를 얻고 싶어 하지만, 다양한 사이트들을 방문해야 하고, 많은 양의 정보들을 일일이 재검색하거나 언어를 해독하여 그 관련성을 확인해야 하는 번거로움이 있기 때문에 정보를 검색하는데 그치지 않고, 관련성에 따라 이를 시각화까지 수행해주는 서비스가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 크롤링한 데이터를가공하고, 자연어 처리를 통해 의미 있는 데이터로 추출한 후, 딥러닝 기반의 군집화 및 분류 과정을 수행한 후 그 결과를 다양한 시각화 기법을 적용하여 여러 가지 정보들을 한눈에 볼 수 있도록 하는 원스톱 서비스를 설계하고 구현한다.

        당뇨황반부종에서 트리암시놀론 유리체강내 단독주입과 후테논낭하주입 병용요법의 효과 비교

        Purpose: To compare the effect of triamcinolone acetonide injection between intravitreal injection alone group and intravitreal injection in combintaion with posterior subtenon injection group in diabetic macular edema. Methods: Twenty-nine eyes of 29 patients with diabetic macular edema were randomly classified into two groups. Intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide 4 mg was administered to 15 eyes and posterior subtenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide 20 mg in combination with intravitreal injection was administered to 14 eyes. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), macular thickness measured by optical coherence tomography were assessed 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after the procedure. Results: Baseline BCVA and macular thickness showed no differences between two groups. BCVA and macular thickness 1, 3, and 6 months after the procedure revealed significant improvement, but no significant differences between two groups were observed. Conclusions: Intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide alone and intravitreal inejction in combination with posterior subtenon injection were equally effective, but had no significant differences.

        조직플라스미노겐활성제를 이용한 유리체절제술시 제거된 내경계막의 구조

        Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) on adhesion between the internal limiting membrane and the vitreous cortex in patients with diabetic macular edema. Methods: This retrospective study included 14 eyes of 14 patients with diabetic macular edema without posterior vitreous detachment. The fourteen eyes were divided into two groups. In the first group, vitrectomy and internal limiting membrane (ILM) removal were performed after intravitreal TPA 0.1 cc (50 ug) injection the day before vitrectomy and in the second group, vitrectomy and ILM removal were performed without previous injection of TPA. We observed the ILM using electron microscopy and verified the effects of the TPA. Results: Spontaneous posterior vitreous detachment occurred in 3 of 7 eyes in the first group. Internal limiting membranes removed by vitrectomy showed a smooth surface in 4 of 7 eyes in the first group and in 1 of 7 eyes in the second group. Seven eyes of the first group and 6 eyes of the second group revealed decreased foveal thickness and increased visual acuity 90 days postoperatively. Conclusions: Preoperative intravitreal TPA injection was helpful for achieving posterior vitreous detachment and for decreasing possible postoperative complications involving in remnant vitreous cortex in patients with diabetic macular edema.
