To make compact evaporator, experiments that show characteristics of evaporating heat transfer and pressure drop in the helically coiled small diameter tube were taken in this research. The experiments were performed with HCFC-22 in the helically coiled small diameter tube; inner diameter=1.0(mm), tube length=2.0(m), and curvature diameter=31, 34, 46.2(mm). The experiments were also carried out with the following test conditions; saturation pressure=0.588(MPa), mass velocity=$150{\sim}500(kg/m^2s)$, and heat flux=$1{\sim}5(kW/m^2)$. The experiment results are that the empirical correlation to predict heat transfer coefficient for single phase flow in helically coiled small diameter tube was obtained. It was found that dry-out is occurred at low-quality region for evaporation heat transfer because of breaking of annular liquid film. The friction factor of single phase flow of helically coiled tube was agreed with Prandtl's correlation. Finally, It was proposed for correlation that can precisely predict the friction factor of two phase flow of helically coiled tube.

미국의 한반도 정책은 비핵화이다. 미국정부는 북한의 핵위협을 제거하기 위해 군사행동의 가능성을 고려했었다. 군사행동 고려는 1993년 중반부터 1994년 중반까지 정점에 달했다. 그러한 공격은 직접적으로 한국전을 일으켰을 것이다. 당시 북핵위기는 북미협상과 한미동맹에 의해 해결되었다. PSI의 목적은 지구적 또는 지역적 안보에 심각한 위협을 일으키는 국가나 비국가행위자에게 대량살상무기, 운반체계, 관련 물질의 확산을 막거나 적어도 억제하는 것이다. PSI의 가장 논쟁의 여지가 있는 활동은 차단이다. 북한은 구상에 대해 심각한 우려를 표명하면서 다음과 같이 언급하였다. 무기를 개발하고, 배치하고, 수출하는 것은 주권이다. 그리고 자신들의 선박에 대한 차단은 선전 포고로 간주할 것이다. 한국이 북한선박에 대한 차단을 시행하면 북한은 도발로 대응할 것이므로 한반도의 긴장은 극적으로 증가할 것이다. 한국은 한미동맹과 남북관계를 고려해야하기 때문에 PSI에 매우 조심스럽게 접근하지 않을 수 없다. The policy of the United States is a Korean Peninsula free of all nuclear weapons. The United States government was considering the possibility of military action to eliminate the North Korean nuclear threat. Talk of military action peaked from mid-1993 through mid-1994. Such an attack might have led directly to a Korean war. At that time the nuclear crisis solutioned by North Korea-United States negotiation and ROK-United States alliance. PSI's purpose is to prevent or at least inhibit the spread of weapons of mass destruction, their delivery systems, and related materials to and from states and non-state actors whose possession would be a serious threat to global or regional security. The most controversial activity of PSI is interdiction. North Korea has expressed grave concern over the initiative, stating that it has a sovereign right to develop, deploy, and export weapons, and that it would view any interdiction of its ships as a declaration of war. If South Korea is to execute interdiction North Korean ships expect tensions to increase dramatically on the peninsula with North Korea doing something quite provacative in response. South Korea cannot help approaching PSI with great caution, since it has to consider the ROK-United States alliance, and inter-Korean relations.

Canine exocrine pancreatic insufficiency treated with porcine pancreatic extract

A 1.8-year-old intact female Maltese dog was presented because of a history of chronic diarrhea, polyphagia, weight loss, and coprophagia. The patient was severely emaciated and evacuated very moist and four-smelling, yellow feces.Fecal stain with Sudan III revealed numerous lipid droplets. Result of fat absorption test showed maldigestion.A definite diagnosis was made based on trypsin-like immunoreactivity assay in serum which was low enough to be diagnosed as an exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. After pancreatic enzyme supplement with porcine pancreatin powder, the clinical signs were disappeared. This case report documents clinical manifestations, diagnostic tools, treatment and efficiency of oral pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in a Maltese dog.

승강기 와이어로프 진단을 위한 누설자속기법 기반 국부손상 진단

본 연구에서는 와이어로프의 국부손상 검색을 위해 누설자속기법을 적용하였다. 와이어로프 구조물에 적용하기 위해 리프트오프의 발생을 최소화한 4채널 누설자속 센서헤드를 제작하였고, 이를 사용하여 와이어로프의 국부손상 검색실험을 수행하였다. 국부손상 검색실험을 위해 와이어로프를 준비하였고, 다양한 원주방향을 가지는 부분 단선 손상들을 발생시켰다. 제작된 자속누설 센서헤드를 이용하여 와이어로프 시편의 자속신호를 스캔하였고, 노이즈의 영향을 최소화하고 자속신호의 해상도를 향상시키고자 자속 신호를 미분하여 순간변화량을 손상 검색에 활용하였다. 객관적인 손상 판단을 위해 각 채널에서 계측된 자속신호를 GEV분포를 이용해 설정된 임계값과 비교하였다. 최종적으로 임계값을 초과한 부분의 길이방향 및 원주 방향 위치를 실제 손상과 비교함으로써 본 기법의 국부손상 검색 가능성을 살펴보았다. In this study, Magnetic Flux Leakage(MFL)-based inspection system was applied to detect the local fault of wire rope. To verify the feasibility of the proposed damage detection technique, an 4-channel MFL sensor head prototype was designed and fabricated. A wire rope with several types of cross-sectional damages were fabricated and scanned by the MFL sensor head to measure the magnetic flux density of the wire rope specimen. To interpret the condition of the wire rope, magnetic flux signals were used to determine the locations of the flaws. To improve the resolution of signal, the instantaneous variation value of magnetic flux was utilized. Measured signals from the damaged specimen were compared with thresholds set for objective decision making. Finally, the results were compared with information on actual inflicted damages to confirm the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed cable monitoring method.
