Cryptococcosis is the most common form of fungal infection of the central nervous system, which is classified as meningeal, embolic and perivascular type. Cryptococcal meningitis and meningo-encephalitis are not infrequent, but the only 40 cases of localized torula granuloma in the central nervous system had been reported in the worldwide literature until 1973 since the first report of LeCount and Myers in 1907. Our new case reported here, a thirty-eight year old female patient was admitted to our department because of abruptly appeared headache with nausea and vomiting, drowsy mental state and left hemiparesis. On admission the left hemiparesis and remarkable meningeal irritation signs were found. Chest film and skull films showed no evidence of abnormality. The right carotid angiogram revealed the shifting of the anterior cerebral artery to the left side with concomittant U-loop widening (Fig.1), Sylvian triangle displaced posteriorly, closed carotid siphon(Fig. 2) and abonormal draining vessels with staining on the frontal base of cerebrum (Fig.1,2,3,4). Examination of the cerebrospinal fluid showed remarkable polymorphonuclear leucocyte predominant pleocytosis, elevated protein and normal sugar content. And negative smear for cryptecocci and other microorganisms. A right frontal craniotomy and brain exploration exposed grayish gelationus mass of about 3.5cm in diameter, which was partially removed. Microscopic findings were acute and chronic inflammatory changes in different stages with various types of giant cells and cryptococci (Fig. 5,6). On the third postoperative day, the patient died. Neither amphotericin-B nor 5-Fluorocy-tosine was administered because preoperative diagnosis was brain tumor, and postmortem exmination couldn't be done.

Automatic feed pumps are operated and stopped by a pressure switch. Thus, because of repeated operations and stops of the pumps according to fluctuations of water volume, operation with constant rate and pressure is impossible. Moreover, because of repeated running of the pump, keeping up of constant pressure is impossible and damage and energy loss are weak points of the pimps. To make up for defects of an automatic feed pump, this paper designed and made a static pressure feed system which was composed of a feed water control valve, a flow sensor and a control system. The valve device plays an important part in reducing load of pumps by constant water supply regardless of outflow of water. Outflow of water is determined by infrared diode of the flow sensor. The control system is made of a 8 bit micro-processor and the pump was controled by a specific control algorithm. With the constant pressure feed system, discharge pressure was kept at fixed pressure, accurate operations and stops were smoothly accomplished and the pump was operated with constant pressure. Thus, the constant pressure feed system can be considered as an advanced system which made up for the weak points in the current automatic feed systems. 자동 급수펌프는 압력스위치에 의해 운전 및 정지를 하게 된다. 따라서 수량 증감에 따른 펌프의 빈번한 운전 및 정지로 인해 지속적인 정격 및 정압 운전이 불가능하다. 또한 빈번한 작동으로 인해 지속적으로 일정한 압력을 얻을 수 없으며, 펌프의 소손과 에너지의 낭비가 심한 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 해결하고자 급수밸브, 유량센서, 제어장치로 구성되는 정압 급수장치를 설계 제작하였다. 급수밸브는 유출되는 물의 양과 관계없이 항상 일정한 양의 물을 유입하여 펌프의 부하를 줄이는 역할을 한다. 유량센서는 적외선 다이오드를 사용하여 유출되는 물의 양의 측정하며, 제어장치는 8 비트 마이크로프로세서를 이용하여 설계하였으며, 특별한 제어 알고리듬에 의해 펌프의 운전과 정지를 제어하게 하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 장치는 토출 압력이 일정하게 유지되고 펌프의 작동 및 정지 동작이 부드럽게 이루어지며, 펌프의 지속적인 정압운전이 가능하므로 기존의 단점을 보완하는 장치로 사료된다.
The ideal of weakly $p$-nuclear operators and its injective and surjective hulls

We introduce a larger ideal $\mathcal N_{wp}$ of the ideal of $p$-nuclear operators. We obtain isometric representations of the injective and surjective hulls of $\mathcal N_{wp}$ and study them.
실험적 완전 허혈을 일으킨 희쥐 뇌조직 Na^+-K^+ATPase활성도의 경시적 변화와 Thiopental의 영향

Since Schwartz et at. (1976) reported that in the ischemic state, Na^+-K^+ ATPase activity of the brain was reduced, numerous authorities have agreed with him, but chronological sequence of the subcellular metabolic mechanisms of the phenomenon is still obscure. Rehncrona et al. (1981), Demopoulos et al. (1977) and Hass et al. (1981) proposed different mechanisms about it but none of them are accepted with an accord. To make us more chaotic, MacMillan (1982) criticized the previous reports and insisted that Na^+-K^+ ATPase showed a capability for enhanced activity in the complete ischemic rat brain. This study documented Na+-K^+ ATPase activity as well as the thiopental sodium effect on it chronologically in the rat brain induced to complete ischemia produced by decapitation. We obtained the results that Na^+-K^+ ATPase activity reduced significantly from 10 minutes after decapitation and gradually reduced with the passage of the time. Na^+-K^+ ATPase activity reduction at 30 minutes after decapitation approaches to 50% of the control. On the contrary, the thiopental(50mg/kg) group showed no significant reduction of Na^+-K^+ ATPase activity until 30 minutes after decapitation. There results suggested us that ischemic insult produced cell membrane disintegration and the thiopental was protective to such a destructive sequence of cell membrane.
