만 18세 여아의 자궁경부에 발생한 Sarcoma botryoides 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌적 고찰과 아울러 보고하는 바이다. Sarcoma botryoides is highly malignant tumor occuring almost exclusively in children under the age of 5 years. A few young adults having a typical botryoid tumor are reported. In that cases, lesions seem to develops in the cervix rather then the vagina. Recently, a case of sarcoma botryoides which was originated from the uterine cervix of 18 years old numarried girl has been experiened, and presented with a brief review of the literature.

The purpose of this study was to develop menus for daily intake of 25g soybean protein and to analyse nutrients of these foods. Analytical values were compared to the theoretical one using the food composition table and recommended dietary allowances for Koreans (7th revision). The results are as follows. 1. Soybean curd residue stew, Soybean curd, Kimchi saute, and hard boiled soybean and lotus root were selected for the menu for January, of which the content of soy bean protein(SBP) was 33.1g, soybean stew, soybean curd and soybean sprout saute, and Italian deep fried soybean curd were for February, of which the content of SBP was 35.0g. The content of SBP in soybean paste soup with soybean curd, fried soybean curd and fried soybean curd roll, the menu for March, was 24.9g. That of April were soybean curd gratin with soymilk, soybean curd and ham with garlic dressing and the content of SBP was 26.3g. That of May were soybean porridge, soybean flour cake with honey (Dasik), soybean sprout soup and the content of SBP was 26.7g. That of June were soymilk, pan-fried soybean curd, steamed soybean curd with chicken and the content of SBP was 28.4g. That of July were noodle with soymilk, mapatofu, soybean curd salad and the content of SBP was 24.7g. That of August were soybean sprout with mustard dressing, Tossed green pepper with raw soybean flour, Tofu and Kimchi stew, soybean curd steak and the content of SBP was 26.2g. That of September were Chinese cabbage soup with raw soybean flour, sweet and sour tofu and the content of SBP was 23.2g. That of Oct. were Fermented soybean stew, soybean pan cake and the content of SBP was 24.3g. That of November were not-pressed soybean curd casserole, pan-fried mashed soybean curd with egg, stir frying deep-fried soybean curd with vegetables and the content of SBP was 22.4g. That of December were soybean curd and mushroom casserole, fried soybean curd and vegetables, hard boiled soybean curd and the content of SBP was 28.9g. 2. The ratio of the analytical value over theoretical value (A/B%) of one serving in kcal, carbohydrate, protein, fat, ash and dietary fiber were 57.7~107.7%, 42.9~131.9%, 79.2~118.3%, 54.5~100%, 40.7~80.8% and 42.1~113.2%, respectively. 3. The ratio of A/B% of one serving in Ca, K, Na, P and Fe were 44.1~93.6%, 59.0~153.1%, 53.1~117.7% 64.6%~138.8 and 33.8~77.3%, respectively. That in Fe was the lowest among minerals. 4. The ratio of analytical value over Korean R.D.A(A/C%) in Ca was relatively higher (22.0~85.9%) than that in kcal(18~63%). 5. The ratio of A/C% in Fe was 25.1~64.3% and lower than that in Ca and protein in general.

The role of intracellular Ca^(2+) in the regulation of tumor cell proliferation by products of arachidonic acid (AA) metabolism was investigated using U-373 MG human astrocytoma cells. Treatment with nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA), a lipoxygenase (LOX) inhibitor, or caffeic acid (CA), a specific 5-LOX inhibitor, suppressed proliferation of the tumor cells in a dose-dependent manner. However, indomethacin (Indo), a cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor, did not significantly alter proliferation of the tumor cells. At anti-proliferative concentrations, NDGA and CA significantly inhibited intracellular Ca^(2+) release induced by carbachol, a known intracellular Ca^(2+) agonist in the tumor cells. Exogenous administration of leukotriene B(4) (LTB(4)), an AA metabolite of LOX pathway, enhanced proliferation of the tumor cells in a concentration-dependent fashion. In addition, LTB(4) induced intracellular Ca^(2+) release. Intracellular Ca^(2+) inhibitors, such as an intracellular Ca^(2+) chelator (BAPTA) and intracellular Ca^(2+) -release inhibitors (dantrolene and TMB-8), significantly blocked the LTB(4)-induced enhancement of cell proliferation and intracellular Ca^(2+) release. These results suggest that LOX activity may be critical for cell proliferation of the human astrocytoma cells and that intracellular Ca^(2+) may play a major role in the mechanism of action of LOX.

To investigate nutritional status and blood components of college women, suvey was conducted against 52 students of Hyosung Women's University from September 8 to October20, 1987. Average height, weight, skinfold thickness and midarm circumference of subjets were 157.1± 5.2cm, 50.9± 4.9kg, 14.5± 3.2mm and 24.6±2.3cm Kaup index was 2.1± 0.2 in average. The dietary food intake was 1299.2gm and that of animal foods was 245.1gm. Averse intake of calorie, protein, calcium, iron, riboflavin and niacin except vitamin A, thiamin and vitamin C were below the recommened dietary allowances (RDA) . Total calorie intake was 1653.5± 327.4Kcal. This was composed of carbohydrate 281.4gm(68.1% ), protein 58,7gm(14.2%), and fat 32.6gm(17.7% ). Other nutrients, such as calcium 439.9± 148.2mg, iron 42土 4.0mg, riboflavin 1.2± 0.4mg and niacin 12.1±4.9mg were lower than the recommeded dietary allowances(RDA).The mean values of Hb, Hct and MCHC were 13.8± lgm%, 41± 3% and 34± 1.2% .The mean values of serum protein, serum albumin and A/G ratio were 7.9± 0.4gm%,4.9士0.3gm% and 1.7± 0.3.

Previously, tamoxiten (TAM) has been shown to induce apoptosis through elevation of intracellular Ca^(2+) in HepG2 human hepatoblastoma cells. In this study we investigated the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the TAM-induced apoptosis, and interrelationship between intracellular Ca^(2+) and ROS. TAM induced a slow and sustained increase in intracellular ROS level. An antioxidant, N-acetlycysteine signlficantly inhibited both ROS production and apoptosis induced by TAM, suggesting that ROS may play an essential role in the TAM-lnduced apoptosis. In a time frame ROS generation followed lntracellular Ca^(2+) increase, and the extracellular and intracellular Ca^(2+) chelation with EGTA and BAPTA/AM, respectively, completely inhibited the TAM-induced ROS production, lndicating that intracellular Ca^(2+) may mediate the ROS generation. Inhibitors of NAD(P)H oxidase, diphenylene iodonium, phenylarsine oxide and neopterine, signlficantly blocked the TAM-induced ROS generation and apoptosis, implying that this oxidase may act as a source enzyme for the production of ROS. These results suggest that non-phagocytic NAD(P)H oxidase may paly a novelroleas a mediator of the apoptosis associated with intracellular Ca^(2+) in HepG2 cells.
