Purpose: This study focuses on developing an algorithm that can sift through noisy LiDAR data in adverse weather and filter out snow points without losing essential details. By achieving this, we can boost the reliability of autonomous navigation systems in snowy conditions. Methods: We developed a novel filtering technique that considers the LiDAR intensity from surrounding points, not just the point of interest. We tested this method using the winter adverse driving dataset (WADS), applying our algorithm to LiDAR data distorted by snowy conditions. Results: This study determined the efficiency of our filter based on the degree of noise it removed and the number of essential points it preserved. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in data quality while keeping the most relevant information intact. Conclusion: The new filtering method offers a significant upgrade over previous studies on LiDAR, especially in maintaining crucial LiDAR data. This breakthrough paves the way for more dependable autonomous vehicle navigation in weather that typically disrupts sensor accuracy.

In March 2016, an isolate of Cucumber mosaic virus (named Gyp-CMV) was isolated from the Sambungai (Gynura procumbens) showing the symptoms of mosaic and chlorosis. The isolate Gyp-CMV was characterized by disease reactions in several indicator plants, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism, and sequence analysis of movement protein (3a) and coat protein (CP) genes. Tobacco, tomato, pepper, ground cherry, and lambsquarters (Chenopodium quinoa and C. amaranticolor) appeared typical CMV symptoms, but zucchini and cucumber were not infected. Phylogenetic analysis of the 3a and CP gene indicated that Gyp-CMV belongs to the CMV subgroup II. Sequence identities of the Gyp-CMV 3a and CP genes showed 99.3% and 100% to that of Hnt-CMV at amino acid level. To our knowledge, this is the first report of CMV infection in Gynura procumbens.
Does The Mitral Annulus Shrink or Enlarge During Systole? A Real-Time 3D Echocardiography Study
권준,전민재,김대혁,박금수,이우형 대한의학회 2009 Journal of Korean medical science Vol.24 No.2
This study was conducted to explore the geometrical changes of the mitral annulus during systole. The 3D shape of the mitral annulus was reconstructed in 13 normal subjects who had normal structure of the mitral apparatus using real-time 3D echocardiography (RT3DE) and 3D computer software. The two orthogonal (antero-posterior and commissure-commissure) dimensions, the areas (2D projected and 3D surface) and the non-planarity of the mitral annulus were estimated during early, mid and late systole. We demonstrated that the MA had a “saddle shape” appearance and it consistently enlarged mainly in the antero-posterior direction from early to late systole with lessening of its non-planarity, as was determined by 3D reconstruction using RT3DE and 3D computer software.
