This study has investigated front hairstyles in wedding updos and found the following: First, front hairstyles were analyzed in terms of parting, technique and angle. In parting, a bang parting gives the face a small, cute appearance while ‘all-back’ creates a modern and elegant image. A side parting is able to create diverse styles depending on hair length, while a center part makes the face look small. Lastly, a natural parting is helpful in creating a natural and refined look. According to a study on front hairstyles by technique, technique was frequently used in side and center parting. In side hairstyles depending on angle, the facial image can be adjusted or improved by creating an illusion of the shape of face or eyes. Second, according to analysis on basic front hairstyles, it is possible to create diverse images such as an elegant and modern image and a young image with different front hairstyles. The applied front hairstyles by technique are divided into all-back & bang, side and center. Applied design has been created by making the top and golden part voluminous with diverse techniques (tail, C-curl & S-curl, volume). The front hairstyles were created through a model, using diverse techniques (tail, C & S-curl wave, volume) in all-back & bang and side. In terms of the limitations of this study, the shape of the face in addition to parting, technique and angle has influence on front hairstyles. Therefore, there should be further objective, scientific study on changes in front hairstyles by face shape.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the images of `bomun` and provide basic information necessary for applying such images to modern clothes and cultural life goods. For the purpose, this researcher reviewed previous related studies and a quantitative statistical analysis on traditional types of `bomun` , especially `jap bomun`, `Buddhist bomun` and `Taoist bomun`. 1. It was found that 5 factors were most determinant to the images of `bomun`. Those five factors were accounting for 59.4% of the images. Out of the five, the first factor is `attractiveness`, the 2nd `apparentness`, the 3rd `hardness and softness` and the 4th `matureness`. 2. Out of the images of `bomun` which are hierarchically structured, it was found, most remarkable are attractive and feminine images out of which the former include sub-images expressed as personal and simple and the latter, natural, pure and modern. 3. Regarding styles of `bomun` in accordance with its images, the 1st style of the pattern could be expressed `straight and masculine`, the 2nd style `brilliant and luxurious`, the 3rd `curved and smooth`, the 4th `elegant and femine` and the 5th `plain and cute`. 4. Comparisons among those styles were made to find that `the 4th style of `bomun` like `bounmun`, `seonjamun` and `eumyangpan mun` were highest in attractiveness as one of the 5 factors as above while, the 2nd style like `beopramun`, `beopryunmun` and `yeonhwamun` were highest in apparentness. Thus the 4th and 2nd styles of `bomun` best represent the 1st and 2nd factors of the image of the patten, respectively, attractiveness and apparentness. 5. The preference for `bomun` was highest when the pattern had such images as can be regarded `comfortable`, `elegant` and `attractive`.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the internal and extemal line beauty of men's dress of the Chosun period from the views of dress design and dress aesthetics. 1) External Line Beauty of Men's Dress of the Chosun Period ① Functional Beauty: Having the beauty of functional line in terms of convenience, notion, effectiveness, practice and sanitation. ② Structural Beauty: H77ing the beauty harmonizing between lines of internal and external structures. ③ Ornamental Beauty: Having the beauty of simple line by mashing accessories (gat, fan, sejodae, shoes) with a simple dress. ④ Wearing Beauty: Making tall-looking or expressing a mature masculine beauty by a visual mistake caused by a combination of internal and external structural beauty lines. 2) Internal Line Beauty of Men's Dress of the Chosun Period Including a simple but natural beauty based on natural philosophy, the beauty of courtesy emphasizing official hat and dress and the beauty of dress having aesthetic consciousness with which people enjoy an idyllic life.

The purposes of this research were to analyze factor stucture and the face image to hairstyles which was made by Computer graphic simulation. To select ten hairstyle, a standard face selected between women of 20-25 years, and four factor (straight, curl, hair length, front hair, part hair) which were made of stand of hairstyle were applied. The results were as follows; 1. face image factor by hairstyle variation were found to five factor; negative and pogitive, indivisuality, youthfulness, unbanity, intelligence. 2. The result of analysis to face image by hairstyle factor were (1) In the hair state, straight hair was explained by the youthful, pure, decent image than curl. (2) In the hair length, the longer hair was explained by the more feminine, softness image. The shorter hair was explained by the more vigorous, youthful image. (3) In the presence of front hair, bang hair was explained by the commonness, moderate, classical image than all back hair. (4) In the part hair, part hair was explained by the modern and unbanity image than no part hair.

The study is on the beauty of the line in the Cho-sun Costume. In the aspect of the Costume Aesthetics and Study of Clothing Design, I try to find the beauty of the line in the external form and the immanent beauty of the external line in the Cho-sun Costume. The results of the study is that: 1) The beauty of the line external form have ① the functional beauty of the line ② the beauty of draped line ③ combination of the line of internal and external structure. ④ the beauty of wearing with the Chi-ma. ⑤ the beauty of sharp line in the ornamenats 2) The immanent beauty of the line in the Cho-sun Costume: There are a natural beauty found by the reason of nature, temperate beauty, simple beauty in the Cho-sun Costeme.
