Biochemical Studies on Ginseng(I) Effect of Dietary Ginseng on the Rate of Blood Ethanol Clearance

식이성 인삼을 저 단백성과 고 단백성 사료에 혼합한 먹이로 키운 흰쥐에 ethanol을 복강내 주사한 후 흡수된 혈액 ethanol의 제거율을 효소학적으로 측정하였다. ethanol을 복강내 주사하고 3.5시간 후에 혈액내의 잔여 ethanol을 측정하였던 바 식이성 인삼투여군이나 인삼과 30% casein 투여군에서 모두 차이가 없었으나 혈액내 주정 제거율은 암컷에서 우세하였다. 그러나 ethanol을 복강내 주사한 후 2시간에는 차이를 볼 수 없었고 성별에도 영향이 없었다. 간 homogenate 용액내의 alcohol dehydrogenase 활성은 in vitro 실험에서 숫컷군이 우세하였다. In the case of blood withdrawn only 2 hours after intraperitoneal injection of alcohol, the tendency of female superiority in alcohol clearance rate is demonstrated when a comparison is made among the groups fed with ginseng and this was particularly true is groups of rats fed with basal diet plus 1 percent ginseng residual blood ethanol being 15.4 mg/ml vs. 8.8 mg/ml. Liver homogenate alcohol dehydrogenase activity measured in terms of residual ethanol content after in vitro reaction on which a known amount of alcohol was added clearly demonstrated a male superiority in alcohol clearance.

In the rate of endotoxin-induced ischemic hearts, Chungsimjihwang-tang result in the decrease sion and artherosclerosis, studies were performed to detect the drug effects on the rate of endotoxin-induced ischemic heart disease and spontaneously hypertensive rate, and rabbits of cholesterol-induced hyperlipemia. The following result were obtained. 1) In the rate of endotoxin-induced ischemic hearts, Chungsimjihwang result in the decrease of serum fibrinogen levels and blood platelet count, the extension of prothrombin time and the increase of serum F.D.P. level. 2) Chungsimjihwang got the blood pressure to show a fail in the spontaneously hypertensive rats. 3) Chungsimjihwang prevented the increase of cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid and free fatty acid levels in serum of the rate of cholesterol-induced typerlipemia rats. 4) the dried extract of Chungsimjihwang showed better result on every than the mixture of simple dried extract of the composed drugs of the prescription. With the generalization of the above-mentioned experimental results, it is thought that Chungsimjihwang will be for sure efficacious for the treatment of the ischemic heart disease, hypertension and artherosclerosis.

산림분야의 6차산업 활성화 연구

정부는 임가 등의 소득을 향상시키는 방안의 일환으로 임업의 6차산업화를 추진하고 있다. 임업의 6차산업화는 임업인 등이 주도하고 산촌에 산재한 다양한 자원을 최대한 활용해 임산물 가공품 개발 및 판매, 산촌체험 등 사업을 추진하고, 이러한 일련의 과정에서 새로운 부가가치 및 일자리를 창출해 임가의 소득을 높이는 사업을 의미한다. 임업의 6차산업화는 최근 소득 및 여가가 증가하면서 건강에 대한 관심이 높아지고, 힐링, 휴양, 건강식품 등에 대한 수요가 빠르게 확대되고 있는 점을 감안할 때 다양한 발전공간을 창출할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 다만, 임업의 6차산업화 활성화를 위해서는 임가의 규모의 영세성, 비즈니스적인 경험미흡, 혁신적인 아이디어 발굴 토대 미흡 등의 한계성 극복이 우선되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 경기도는 최대의 소비 인구가 집중된 수도권에 위치해 있고, 우수한 임업자원을 가지고 있다는 점에서 임업의 6차산업화 추진에 유리한 입지조건을 가지고 있는 것으로 판단되지만 기대만큼 활성화되고 있지 못한 것으로 추정된다. 경기도의 임산물 생산액이 전국에서 차지하는 비중은 2011년 6.7%에서 2015년 9.4%, 경기도의 자연휴양림 방문객이 전국에서 차지하는 비중은 2011년 4.7%에서 2015년 6.1%로 증가하였지만 여전히 낮은 수준이고, 2015년 기준 전국 평균 임가소득은 32백만인데 비해 경인권은 30백만원으로 전국 평균 수준에 비해 낮다. 임업의 6차산업화가 임가의 소득을 향상시키는 중요한 정책수단으로 정착되고, 다양한 성공사례가 나타나고 있지만, 임업의 6차산업화가 경기도의 임가 및 산촌경제 활성화를 위해서는 적지 않은 개선과제가 대두되고 있다. 먼저 혁신적인 아이디어에 기초한 경쟁력 있는 6차산업화 사업체가 드물다는 점이다. 6차산업화의 핵심 사업 가운데 하나인 가공품 개발 및 판매, 체험사업 등이 상당부분 단순 가공에 그치거나 비슷한 유형으로 진행되면서 6차산업화 사업체 확대가 시장을 확대시키는 긍정적인 요인보다는 내부적인 경쟁을 격화시키는 부정적인 요인이 더욱 크게 나타나고 있는 것으로 추정되고 있다. 따라서 6차산업화가 차별화되고 경쟁력을 구비한 혁신적인 아이디어에 기초해 추진될 수 있도록 함으로써 틈새시장 발굴, 소비자 참여 확대 등 시장규모를 확대시키고, 경쟁력도 향상시키는 방향으로 발전될 수 있도록 하는 방안에 대한 모색이 필요하다. 두 번째는 임업의 6차산업화 활성화를 선도하는 역량 강화가 필요하다. 산촌인구의 고령화, 부녀화, 임가의 영세성 등으로 인해 임업의 6차산업화를 선도할 수 있는 내부적인 인적자원, 선도업체 등이 미흡하다. 따라서 임업의 6차산업화를 선도하는 인적자원 육성, 선도업체 발굴 및 육성, 조직화 및 네트워크화를 통한 규모화 및 범위의 경제 실현, 지역 중심의 생산 및 소비시스템 구축 등 임업의 6차산업화를 촉진하는 기반 구축 강화가 필요하다. 세 번째는 선도업체, 시장지배력이 높은 산림복지 시설 등을 중심으로 다수의 임업의 6차산업화 사업체가 연계해 발전하는 방안에 대한 모색이 필요하다. 축령산, 강씨봉, 잣향기푸른숲 등 경기도의 지명도가 높은 산림휴양시설과 인근 지역 임업의 6차산업화 사업체가 연계해 가공품 판매, 체험 등 사업을 추진하거나 기존의 중간상인을 중심으로 다수의 6차산업화 사업체가 연계해 발전하는 방안에 대한 모색이 필요하다. 다만, 이러한 연계사업이 추진되는 과정에서 불공정계약을 최소화하는 방안이 추가되어야 한다. 이밖에 임업 관련 R&D기관과 연계해 다양한 혁신 자원이 임가 및 산촌으로 이전되어 6차산업화 사업체의 혁신적인 아이템 발굴로 연결될 수 있도록 하는 등의 시스템 구축이 필요하다. 임업의 6차산업화에 내재된 이러한 문제점을 극복해 임업의 6차산업화 활성화를 촉진하기 위해 임업의 6차산업화 지원체계 구축, 지역특화산업 중심의 6차산업화 지원체계 구축, 6차산업화 사업체의 조직화 및 지역 연계 6차산업화 촉진, 경기도 산림복지사업과 6차산업화 사업체의 연계 확대, 임산물 관련 R&D기관과 연계해 6차산업화 사업체의 혁신능력 향상 등의 정책대안을 제시하였다.

랫드에서 새로운 Anthracycline계 항암제 Hyrubicin ID6105에 대한 4주 반복투여 독성연구

Repeated-dose toxicity of hyrubicin ID6105, a novel anthracycline anticancer agent, was investigated in Sprague-Dawley rats. ID6105 was injected intravenously to rats at dose levels of 0.04, 0.2 or 1.0 mg/kg/day for 4 weeks. As a result, there were no dose-related mortality and specific clinical signs of all animals treated with the drug. However, body weight gain of both male and female rats treated with a high dose (1.0mg/kg/day) of ID6105 significantly decreased compared to control. Interestingly, the numbers of RBC and platelets, and concentration of hemoglobin remarkably increased, while protein synthesis was suppressed, which may be related to the atrophy of spleen, thymus and liver. Moreover, there were severe lymphocytic depletion in spleen and thymus as well as decrease in the number of hematopoletic cells in bone marrow. Also, degeneration of cardiac muscles and testicular germinal epithelia were observed. Taken together, it is suggested that long-term administration of ID6105 at high doses over 0.2mg/kg/day might cause hematopoietic and male reproductive system injuries, in addition to hepatic dysfunction.

Unique epithelial expression of S100A calcium binding protein A7A in the endometrium at conceptus implantation in pigs

Objective: S100A7A, a member of the S100 protein family, is involved in various biological processes, including innate immunity, antimicrobial function, and epithelial tumorigenesis. However, the expression and function of S100A7A in the endometrium during the estrous cycle and pregnancy are not well understood in pigs. Therefore, this study determined the expression and regulation of S100A7A at the maternal-conceptus interface in pigs. Methods: We obtained endometrial tissues from pigs throughout the estrous cycle and pregnancy, conceptus tissues during early pregnancy, and chorioallantoic tissues during mid- to late pregnancy and analyzed the expression of S100A7A in these tissues. We also determined the effects of steroid hormones, estradiol-17β (E2) and progesterone, and interleukin-1β (IL1B) on S100A7A expression in endometrial tissues. Results: We found that S100A7A was expressed in the endometrium during the estrous cycle and pregnancy in a pregnancy status- and stage-dependent manner and was localized to endometrial luminal epithelial (LE) and superficial glandular epithelial cells with strong intensity in LE cells on day 12 of pregnancy. Early stage conceptuses and chorioallantoic tissues from day 30 to term pregnancy also expressed S100A7A. The expression of S100A7A was increased by E2 and IL1B in endometrial tissues. Conclusion: S100A7A was expressed at the maternal-conceptus interface at the initiation of implantation in response to conceptus-derived estrogen and IL1B and could be a unique endometrial epithelial marker for conceptus implantation in pigs. These findings provide an important insight into the understanding of conceptus-endometrial interactions for the successful establishment of pregnancy in pigs.
