Preparation of corn straw based spongy aerogel for spillage oil capture

        Yuan Li,Xiaodong Liu,Weijie Cai,Yafeng Cao,Yanfeng Sun,Fengzhi Tan 한국화학공학회 2018 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.35 No.5

This work mainly focused on the preparation of a low-cost, ultralight absorbent from renewable corn straw and filter paper via a facile and environmental-friendly approach containing high-shear blending and freeze-drying operation. The physicochemical properties of aerogel were thoroughly examined by several characterization techniques. The satisfactory hydrophobicity of the spongy aerogel was attributed to the formation of polysiloxane on the surface of methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) by the silanization reaction. Owing to its superior features, such as ultralow density, high porosity, desirable hydrophobicity, the corn straw based spongy aerogel exhibited a remarkable absorption capacity for both crude oil (36 g/g) and common organic solvents including carbon tetrachloride (CCl4, 45 g/g), dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO, 24 g/g), N, N-dumethylformamide (DMF, 45 g/g). This might shed light on the design of efficient adsorbent for oil spills and organic pollutants to meet with the sustainable development.

Isolation and characterization of polymorphic microsatellite loci in the grand jackknife clam Solen grandis (Bivalvia: Veneroida)

        Yang Yuan,Lingfeng Kong,Xiaodong Zheng,Qi Li 한국유전학회 2010 Genes & Genomics Vol.32 No.3

The grand jackknife clam Solen grandis (Dunker, 1861) is an overexploited bivalve species. In order to promote a conservation program for this species, it is necessary to evaluate its genetic diversity and population genetics. For this purpose,we isolated the first set of 18 polymorphic microsatellite markers and examined their allelic variation using a total of 30wild individuals collected from one locality. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 5 to 24, and the observed and expected heterozygosity varied from 0.300 to 0.967 and from 0.721 to 0.952, respectively. The high variabilities at these loci indicated that they would be use

      • Bolt looseness detection and localization using time reversal signal and neural network techniques

Zhifeng Tang,Yuan-Feng Duan,Xiaodong Sui,Chung Bang Yun 국제구조공학회 2022 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.30 No.4

It is essential to monitor the working conditions of bolt-connected joints, which are widely used in various kinds of steel structures. The looseness of bolts may directly affect the stability and safety of the entire structure. In this study, a guided wave-based method for bolt looseness detection and localization is presented for a joint structure with multiple bolts. SH waves generated and received by a small number (two pairs) of magnetostrictive transducers were used. The bolt looseness index was proposed based on the changes in the reconstructed responses excited by the time reversal signals of the measured unit impulse responses. The damage locations and local damage severities were estimated using the damage indices from several wave propagation paths. The back propagation neural network (BPNN) technique was employed to identify the local damages. Numerical and experimental studies were conducted on a lap joint with eight bolts. The results show that the total damage severity can be successfully detected under the effect of external force and measurement noise. The local damage severity can be estimated reasonably for the experimental data using the BPNN constructed by the training patterns generated from the finite element simulations.

      • Assessment of physiological changes and body movement during sleep in patient with breathing pattern disorders and stroke

        ( Tiejun Miao ),( Xiaodong Yuan ),( Pingshu Zhang ),( Jun Song ) 한국감성과학회 2019 한국감성과학회 국제학술대회(ICES) Vol.2019 No.-

Healthy adults and patients with history of breathing disorders and stroke were enrolled in this clinical study and underwent simultaneous test by polysomnography (PSG). The present study analyzed fluctuation in vital signs and movement activity extracted from the multichannel ballistocardiographic signals based on piezo sensor distribution under bed mattress. We assessed the validity using contact less technology to screening obstructive sleep apnea and stroke. We found an agreement of apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) with the number of hypopneas estimated by our method. Also we found abnormal changes in body pressure distribution during sleep in patient having history of stroke. Mean area of distribution for stroke was 3.44±0.82 having significant lower values than ones without stroke who had value of 9.19±2.35.

      • A Distributed WebGIS Platform based on SaaS Architecture

        Weng Yu,Xiaodong Jia,Yuan Jie 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.12

The emergence of cloud computing has changed the software development and deployment, providing users with great convenience. But even in the cloud computing environment, software development efficiency is particularly low. In order to improve the efficiency of software development, and make software release easier, we designed a layered service computing platform. With the help of basic services, the platform makes software development and publishing simple and efficient. To demonstrate our platform, we described the process of building a simple WebGIS system in this paper. This process represents the software development process in our platform. Experiment shows that our work is not only available but also simplifies the process of software development.

SRSF7 is a promising prognostic biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma and is associated with immune infiltration

        Shen Wei,Yuan Lebin,Cheng Fei,Wu Zhao,Li Xiaodong 한국유전학회 2024 Genes & Genomics Vol.46 No.1

Background Previous studies indicate that the splicing process, regulated by the cellular machinery of tumors (spliceosome), undergoes alterations, leading to oncogenic splicing events associated with the progression of tumors towards aggressiveness. However, the role of serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 7 (SRSF7) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains unclear. Methods This study was aimed to explore the role and clinical significance of SRSF7 in HCC. By conducting functional analysis and gene set enrichment analysis, it was discovered that SRSF7 contributes to multiple pathways associated with immune response and tumor advancement. Further experiments verified that silencing of SRSF7 obviously inhibits progression of HCC. Results Aberrant expression of SRSF7, which were referred as an independent prognostic risk factor, effectively predicts the prognosis of patients with HCC. Functional and gene enrichment analyses revealed that SRSF7 is linked with multiple immune and tumor progression-related pathways, including the B cell receptor signaling pathway, positive regulation of leukocyte and immunoglobulin receptor binding cell activation, nuclear division, membrane invagination, cell cycle, as well as mTOR signaling pathway. Furthermore, increased SRSF7 expression was associated with tumor-infiltrating inflammatory cells (CD4+, monocytes/macrophages, CD8 + and endothelial). Additionally, multiple immune checkpoint genes were markedly positively related to SRSF7. The efficiency of SRSF7 in predicting immunomodulator and chemokine responses were also assessed in microenvironment. Moreover, in vitro analyses demonstrated that knockdown of SRSF7 suppressed the malignant evolution of HCC possibly by deactivating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling. Conclusion The role of SRSF7 in the tumor microenvironment has been successfully assessed. It may be a valid bio-index for predicting the HCC prognosis, thereby guiding individualized immunotherapy for cancer. Pattern Recognition of Monitored Waveforms from Power Supplies Feeding High-Speed Rail Systems

        Wei Gu,Shuai Zhang,Xiaodong Yuan,Bing Chen,Jingjing Bai 대한전기학회 2016 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.11 No.1

The development of high-speed rail (HSR) has had a major impact on the power supply grid. Based on the monitored waveforms of HSR, a pattern recognition approach is proposed for the first time in this paper to identify the operating conditions. To reduce the data dimensions for monitored waveforms, the principal component analysis (PCA) algorithm was used to extract the characteristics and their waveforms from the monitored waveforms data. The dynamic time wrapping (DTW) algorithm was then used to identify the operating conditions of the HSR. Cases studies show that the proposed approach is effective and feasible, and that it is possible to identify the real-time operating conditions based on the monitored waveforms.
