Surgical resection of an olfactory groove meningioma using a 3D-printing technique in a dog

A 12-year-old, spayed female, Pomeranian dog was referred for limbs stiffness and circling movement. Computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) revealed a contrast-enhanced space-occupying lesion suggestive of meningioma in the olfactory groove to the right frontal lobe. For a successful and accurate surgery, 3D printing technique for preoperative planning and 3D guide was applied. Surgical excision of the meningioma was successfully performed. The postoperative complications were managed through medical treatment and patient care without the revision surgery.

Ni-rich layered transition metal oxides have been regarded as the most feasible way for achieving high energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Conventional Ni-rich cathodes are composed of spherical secondary particles, consisting of numerous primary particles. Unfortunately, the grain boundaries in the polycrystalline structure are vulnerable to the pulverization, leading to microcracks during cycling. The newly exposed surface from the microcrack can induce undesirable side reactions with the electrolyte, which severely deteriorates the battery performance. On the other hand, single-crystalline Ni-rich cathodes have gained significant attention for industrial applications due to their robust mechanical strength, resulting from the elimination of grain boundaries. The improved mechanical properties of single-crystalline cathodes effectively mitigate the interfacial side reactions, thereby attaining superior structural, thermal, and electrochemical performance. Herein, we have introduced various synthetic methods of the single-crystalline cathode, encompassing not only high-temperature sintering and the molten-salt method for the Ni-rich cathode but also the other strategies for different single-crystalline cathode materials. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of single-crystalline cathode synthesis, with implications for the development of high-performance cathode materials.

클러스터 기반 라우팅 방법에서 클러스터 헤드에 고장이 발생하면, 전달되지 못하는 센서 데이터가 존재한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 각 클러스터마다 백업 클러스터 헤드를 지정함으로써 원래의 클러스터 헤드에 고장이 발생했을 때 백업 클러스터 헤드가 그 역할을 대신하도록 하는 방법이 연구되고 있다. 백업 클러스터 헤드를 이용한 방법에서는 어떤 노드를 백업 클러스터 헤드로 선출하느냐에 따라 무선센서네트워크의 성능이 좌우된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 무선센서네트워크의 에너지 효율성을 높이기 위해 퍼지를 이용하여 각 클러스터의 백업 클러스터 헤드를 선출하는 방법을 제안한다.

It is the neoliberal conventional wisdom that international regimes facilitate cooperation among states. If that is true, the UNCLOS may help to ease the conflictive legacy in Northeast Asia. However, the conflict among three major countries, China, Japan, and Korea, seems to come up to the surface despite their participation of the UNCLOS. The three states have failed to delimitate the EEZ borders respectively for more than one decade since their ratification of the regime. This research adopts Haas and Speth"s four stages of regime evolution. The ocean conflict in Northeast Asia may fit in the fourth stage: The stage of implementation, monitoring, assessment and strengthening. If the conflicts among states occur in the process of application of the UNCLOS to the region, our suggestions in this research may effectively serve cooperation while reducing conflicts in Northeast Asia. That is, a potential regional maritime regime in Northeast Asia needs more compulsory regulations. Since there is no leadership in the region to initiate such a regime that might infringe on their national sovereignty, it is necessary for countries to make long-term efforts. First of all, including bilateral fishery agreement, international regimes in the region should be more sophisticated and ultimately developed into a general multilateral ocean management body. Diverse non-governmental efforts of groups and specialists, and transnational networks would function on the way of the maritime cooperation in the region.
