      • 항인지질 항체 증후군에서 항β₂glycoprotein-Ⅰ 항체의 의미

        objective : This study investigated the significance of anti-β₂ glycoprotein-Ⅰ(β₂GPI) antibody in antiphospholipid syndrome from the results of the relationship between the antiphospholipid antibody test and the anti-β₂GPI antibody test. Methods : The IgM, IgG type of the anti-β₂GPI antibody was tested by ELISA in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome or those who were suspected of having antiphospholipid syndrome and compared with the anticardiolipin antibody and lupus anticoagulant results. As a control, the anti-β₂GPI antibody was tested in 12 normal healthy persons and 8 systemic lupus erythematosus patients. Results : In 6 patients with antiphospholipid syndrome, the positive rate of lupus anticoagulant, IgM and IgG anticardiolipin antibody was 33%, 50%, and 67%. However, the positive rate of the IgM and IgG anti-β₂GPI antibody test was 83%, 100%. Among the 6 patients, 3 patients were tested for the anti-β₂GPI antibody before and after treatment. In all 3 patients, the anti-β₂GPI antibody titer was lower after treatment. The anti-β₂GPI antibody test was positive in those patients suspected for having antiphospholipid syndrome, but tested negative to the anticardiolipin antibody or lupus anticoagulant. In the normal and disease controls, the anti-β₂GPI antibody test was negative in all cases. Conclusion : In diagnosing antiphosphotipid syndrome. the anticardiolipin antibody or lupus anticoagulant should be used as a screening test, and if necessary, an anti-β₂GPI antibody should be added. This might improve the sensitivity and specificity. Also, the anti-β₂GPI antibody titer may be used as a marker of disease activity.

      • 허브공항 경쟁우위 확보를 위한 핵심역량 연구 : 전략적 네트워크를 중심으로

        아시아지역에서 건설되었거나 확장될 대부분의 공항은 허브공항이 되기 위하여 심한 경쟁을 할 것이다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 공항당국은 핵심역량을 파악할 필요가 있다. 유럽의 공항들을 그들의 허브공항으로서의 성과지표인 전체승객수와 환승율에 따라 4개 그룹(순수 허브형, 자체수요 의존형, 연계수요 의존형, 순수 스포크형)으로 구분하였다. 자원기반접근방법(Resource-based Approach)을 이용하여 허브화에 성공한 타입의 전략적 핵심역량을 규명하였다. 특히 공항당국의 협력적 네트워크 구축이 결정적 역량으로 제시되었다. 이 연구에서 파악된 핵심역량(항공사, 컨세션업체 등과의 협력적 네트워크의 구축, 환승시설의 편의성, 쇼핑·여가시설의 다양성 등)은 허브공항화를 추구하는 공항당국에게 많은 도움을 줄 것이다. Most airports having been built or expanded in Asia will face fierce competition to become hub airports. To accomplish this goal, airport authorities will need to identify core capabilities. Some airports in Europe were categorized into 4 different typedpure hub type, self-demand dependent type, transfer-demand dependent type, pure spoke type) depending on their performance variables, the number of total passengers and the transfer passenger to total passenger ratio. Resource-based approach identified core strategic capabilities from successful hub type of airports. Especially, cooperative networks of airport authorities were suggested to be one of critical strategic capabilities. These core capabilities (cooperative networks with airlines, concessionaires, convenience of transfer facilities, and diversity of shopping and leisure facilities, etc) will help airport authorities become hub airports.

        Complementarity determining region(CDR3) of immunoglobulin is the center of antigen binding site. Changes in the number of amino acids of CDR3 may result in change in antigen binding specificity and affinity. The majority of immunoglobulin x chain has 9 or 10 amino acid co-dons in the CDR3 region. Immunoglobulin x chain containing CDR3 with 11 amino acid codons cannot be made without N-region addition. The aims of this study were to evaluate the presence of immunoglobulin x light chain with 11 amino acid codons in its CDR3 domain expressed in the peripheral blood lymphocytes(PBLs) of normal individuals and to correlate amino acid codon length in CDR3 region with age and sex. RNA was isolated from PBLs of normal individuals and x chain was PCR amplified. Amino acid length of CDR3 region was determined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A low but constant expression of immunoglobulin x chain with 11 amino acid codons in CDR3 region in normal individuals was found (mean±SD=11.72±1.80%). Significant correlation was not found between amino acid length in CDR3 region of x chain and age or sex. These findings suggest that the concept that N-region addition in x light chain does not occur due to absence of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) needs to be reconsidered. The existence of long CDR3 K chain in PBLs of normal individuals may reflect that CDR diversity in is quite common. Amino acid length of x chain CDR3 is not regulated during development and there is no influence of sex on the expression of x chain containing CDR3 with 11 amino acids.

      • 유전알고리즘을 이용한 배전손실 최소화에 관한 연구

        This paper presents a new method which applies a genetic algorithm(GA) for determining which sectionalizing switch to operate in order to solve the distribution system loss minimization re-configuration problem. The distribution system loss minimization re-configuration problem is in essence a 0-1 planning problem which means that for typical system scales the number of combinations requiring searches becomes extremely large. In order to deal with this problem, a new approach which applies a GA was presented. Briefly, GA are a type of random number search method, however, they incorporate a multi-point search feature. Further, every point is not is not separately and respectively renewed, therefore, if parallel processing is applied, we can expect a fast solution algorithm to result.

        Bacteroides fragilis에 의한 심장막농양 1예

        화농성 심장막염은 전 세계적으로 매우 드물고 사망률이 높은 질환이다. 화농성 심장막염은 대부분 심장막을 침범하지만, 국소적으로 농양을 형성하는 경우도 보고 되고 있다. 세균에 의한 화농성 심장막염은 전체 급성 심장막염의 원인 중 6% 정도를 차지하고 있다. 그 중에서 혐기균에 의한 화농성 심장막염은 호기균에 의한 것보다 훨씬 드물다. 저자들은 만성 신질환으로 혈액 투석을 받고 있는 58세 남자에서 발생한 B. fragilis에 의한 화농성 심장막 농양과 심장눌림증을 국내에서 처음으로 경험하였기에 이를 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Purulent pericarditis is a rare, life-threatening condition and usually ivolves the whole pericardium. However only few cases have been reported in which a loculated pericardial abscess occurred from purulent pericarditis. The prevalence of acute pericarditis due to bacteria was 6%. Purulent pericarditis due to anaerobic bacteria has been reported less frequently than aerobic bacteria. There was no report about purulent pericarditis due to Bacteroides fragilis in Korea until now. So we report the first case of pericardial abscess due to B. fragilis in 59 year old Korean male with history of chronic renal failure and hemodialysis, that was complicated with pericardial tamponade.

        We investigated resistive superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) fabricated using YBCO thin films on 2-inch diameter sapphire substrates. Nearly identical SFCL units were prepared and tested. The units were connected in series and parallel to increase the current and voltage ratings. A serial connection of the units showed significantly unbalanced power dissipation between the units. This imbalance was removed by introducing a shunt resistor to the firstly quenched unit. Parallel connection of the units increased the current rating. An SFCL module of 4 units in parallel, each of which has minimum quench current 25 A_(peak), was produced and successfully tested at a 220 V_(rms) circuit. From the resistance increase, we estimated that the film temperature increases to 200 K in 5 msec, and 300 K in 120 msec. Successive quenches revealed that this system is stable without degradation in the current limiting capability under such thermal shocks as quenches at 220 V_(rms).
