Despite the success of Cu(In,Ga)Se₂ (CIGS) based PV technology now emerging in several industrial initiatives, concerns about the cost of In and Ga are often expressed. It is believed that the cost of those elements will eventually limit the cost reduction of this technology. One candidate to replace CIGS is Cu₂ZnSnSe₄ (CZTSe), fabricated by co-evaporation technique. Co-evaporation technique will be one of the best methods to control film composition. This type of absorber derives from the CuInSe² chalcopyrite structure by substituting half of the indium atoms with zinc and other half with tin. Energy bandgap of this material has been reported to range from 0.8eV for selenide to 1.5eV for the sulfide and large coefficient in the order of 10^{14}cm^{-1}, which means large possibility of commercial production of the most suitable absorber by using the CZTSe film. In this work, Effects of substrate temperature of Cu₂ZnSnSe₄ absorber layer on the performance of thin films solar cells were investigated. We reported on some of the absorber properties and device results.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a life-threatening syndrome characterized by the classic pentad of clinical features that includes microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, neurologic abnormalities, fever, and renal dysfunction. Early diagnosis and utilization of plasmapheresis can improve the survival rates of patients with TTP. TTP rarely may be seen in association with autoimmune disease such as systemic lupus erythematous (SLE). We report here a 42-year-old female who was presented with severe digital gangrenes, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, neurologic abnormalities, fever, and renal dysfunction. Her condition responded to combined therapy with high dose steroid, immunosuppressants, and plasmapheresis therapy.

We perfornlecl this stucly to determine the effect of BLI-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang, as a prescription of traditional Oriental medicine, and its major ingreclients 011 jejunal crypt s~u-vival, enclogenous spleen colony formation, and apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells of mice irracliatecl with high ancl low close of 7 -racliation. Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang aclinii~istration before irradiation protected the jejunal crypts (p<0.0001), increased the formation of endogenous spleen colony (p<0.05) and reduced the frecluency of radiation-ind~~cecal poptosis (p<0.05). In the experiment on the effect of ingreclients of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang, the result indicated that the extract of Rensan (Panax ginseng), Danggui (Radix Angelicae sinensis), Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae) ancl Chaihu (Raclix Bupleuri) might have a major radioprotective effect. Although the mechanisms of this inhihitory effect remain to he elucidated, these results inclicatecl that Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang might be a useful radioprotector, especially since it is a relatively nontoxic natural product. Further studies are needed to characterize better the protective nature of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang extract ancl its ingreclients.
신라,고려의 통일요인과 한반도 통일: 대외환경을 중심으로

이 논문은 삼국시대와 후삼국시대의 대외환경과 통일 간 연계성을 비교 고찰하고 이를 통해 현재 한반도 통일환경 조성을 위한 정책방향을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 대외환경 측면에서 신라와 고려 통일의 주요 요인은 친선정책을 일관되게 펼치며 유리한 통일환경을 조성했다는 점이다. 신라는 유일한 패권국가인 당나라와의 친당정책에 주력하여 군사연합을 이끌어내며 한반도에서 통일을 이루었다면, 고려는 중원 국가들과 거란이 상호 견제하는 다극체제 하에서 후삼국 국가들과의 외교에 보다 주력하게 되며 통일을 완성한 것이다. 최근 동북아는 미국 중심의 단극질서가 다극질서로 변화하며 협력과 갈등이 공존하는 양상을 띠고 있다. 우리는 한미동맹을 유지하면서 중국 및 러시아와 경제협력 증진을 통해 우호적인 대외환경을 조성하고 이를 기반으로 남북관계에 보다 주력할 필요가 있다. 특히 대북관계의 진전을 위해 ‘선 신뢰’의 정책으로 적극적인 대화와 교류에 나서야 한다. This study aims to derive policy directions in fostering the unification of the Korean Peninsula by comparative method of the relations between the unification and the external environment in the Three Kingdom period and the post-Three Kingdom period. One of the key factors which made Silla and Goryeo achieve unification is to pursue the Good Neighbor policy as well as build a favorable environment. The main parts of the Good Neighbor policy differed on the characteristics of the international system. Silla practiced the Good Neighbor policy towards the Tang Dynasty under the Tang Dynasty-centered unipolar system. This policy made Silla promote the military alliance with the Tang Dynasty and it led Silla to unify the Korean Peninsula. In contrast, under a multipolar system, Goryeo reunified the Korean Peninsula focusing on practicing the Good Neighbor policy toward countries within the Korean Peninsula. Recently, mutual cooperation and conflicts are coexisting in Northeast Asia, changing from the US-centered unipolar world order to a multipolar order. This study suggests that Korea needs to create an amicable international environment through promoting economic cooperation with China and Russia, while simultaneously maintaining the Korea-US alliance. And the Korean government especially has to practice a ‘trust-first’ policy for making significant progress on South-North Korean relations.
마우스에서 방사선 영향에 대한 녹차와 Diethyldithiocarbamate의 조절효과

본 연구에서는 방사선 손상 경감 효과를 나타내는 기호식품을 발굴하고자 국내에서 주로 음용되고 있는 녹차의 방사선 손상 경감효과를 확인하기 위하여 고선량 및 저선량 방사선을 마우스에 조사하고 소장움 생존, 내재성 비장 조혈세포집락 형성 및 apoptosis 유발 등을 관찰하였으며, 그 효과를 방사선 방호효과가 알려져 있는 diethyldithiocarbamate(DDC)와 비교ㆍ관찰하였다. 생존 소장움의 수는 방사선 조사 전 녹차 투여군(경구투여군 : p<0.01, 복강내 투여군 : p<0.01) 및 DDC 투여군(p<0.005)에서 유의성있게 증가되었다. 내재성 조혈세포집락 형성은 방사선 조사 대조군에 비하여 조사 전 복강내 투여한 군(p<0.05)에서만 유의성 있는 증가를 나타냈으며, DDC 투여군에서는 효과를 관찰할 수 없었다. 방사선에 의한 apoptotic cell의 형성은 방사선 조사 전 녹차 투여군(경구 투여군 : p<0.005, 복강내 투여군 : p<0.05) 및 DDC 투여군(p<0.005)에서 통계적으로 유의성 있게 감소되었다. 이상의 결과에서 녹차의 방사선 손상 경감효과를 조혈세포의 생존과 회복, 소장움 세포 생존 및 방사선에 의한 apoptosis 유발억제를 통하여 확인하였으며, 이는 독성이 적은 천연물이라는 관점에서 방사선 손상 경감 음료로서 적용이 가능할 것으로 사료되며 추후 유효 분획 및 성분에 관한 연구가 요구된다. We performed this study to determine the effect of green tea on jejunal crypt survival, endogenous spleen colony formation, and apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells of mice irradiated with high and low dose of gamma-irradiation. The radioprotective effect of green tea was compared with the effect of diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC). Jejunal crypts were protected by pretreatment of green tea (p<0.01). Green tea administration before irradiation resulted in an increase of the formation of endogenous spleen colony (p<0.05). The frequency of radiation-induced apoptosis in intestinal crypt cells was also reduced by pretreatment of green tea (p<0.05). The radioprotective effect on jejunal crypts and apoptosis in the DDC treated group appeared similar to those in the green tea treated groups. Treatment with DDC showed no significant modifying effects on the formation of endogenous spleen colony. These results indicated that green tea might be a useful radioprotector, especially since it is a relatively nontoxic natural product. Further studies are needed to characterize better the promotion nature of green tea and its components.
