      • Comparison of trophic factors changes in the hippocampal CA1 region between the young and adult gerbil induced by transient cerebral ischemia.

        <P>In the present study, we investigated neuronal death/damage in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 region (CA1) and compared changes in some trophic factors, such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), in the CA1 between the adult and young gerbils after 5 min of transient cerebral ischemia. Most of pyramidal neurons (89%) were damaged 4 days after ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) in the adult; however, in the young, about 59% of pyramidal neurons were damaged 7 days after I-R. The immunoreactivity and levels of BDNF and VEGF, not GDNF, in the CA1 of the normal young were lower than those in the normal adult. Four days after I-R in the adult group, the immunoreactivity and levels of BDNF and VEGF were distinctively decreased, and the immunoreactivity and level of GDNF were increased. However, in the young group, all of their immunoreactivities and levels were much higher than those in the normal young group. From 7 days after I-R, all the immunoreactivities and levels were apparently decreased compared to those of the normal adult and young. In brief, we confirmed our recent finding: more delayed and less neuronal death occurred in the young following I-R, and we newly found that the immunoreactivities of trophic factors, such as BDNF, GDNF, and VEGF, in the stratum pyramidale of the CA1 in the young gerbil were much higher than those in the adult gerbil 4 days after transient cerebral ischemia.</P>

      • Rat의 복강내에 투여한 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid 제형이 장기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.

        지체장애인 편의시설의 실태조사 및 현황 분석에 관한 연구 : 대구광역시 종합사회복지관을 중심으로 Focusing of The Welfare Facilities in Daegu

        This study is to search for appearance of facilities based on facility improvement and then analyzes degree of satisfaction of user and level of facilities by comparing. The way of improvement of welfare facilities by searching can be summarized as follow : Facilities for access : For the handicapped, circulation of lamp should be separated from parking area. Parking area for the handicapped should be made safe against general people and also should be made guide equipments for the handicapped parking area. Facilities for shifting : Hand-rails that exist corridors and stairs should be founded with law of facility improvement. Welfare facilities that founded elevators should be slowed down closing time of elevator door for the handicapped, and welfare facilities that founded wheelchair lifts should be enhanced application by educating. Facilities for sanitation. : Avaliable close-stool space and avaliable door width of toilet should be founded by law of improvement facility. Floor tiles of toilet should be finished off non-slipping tiles. In conclusion, criteria of system are most important of all when facilities for the handicapped are founded. And it would be extremely ideal, if facilities can be designed appropriately for the handicapped with this criteria of system.

        To evaluate the in-vivo effects of mitomycin-C-polyglycolic acid composite(MMC-PGA) the disk: shaped composite were implanted into the peritoneal cavity of the Sprague-Dawley rats. The pathologic changes were examined at various time points up to 12 weeks. Initially the soft tissue around the inserted disks showed capillary congestion at 3 days. Inflammatory infiltrates with foreign body giant cells appeared from the 2nd week and reached peak response at 6-8 weeks. These reaction diminished prominently at 12 weeks. No specific pathologic change was found in the liver, the kidneys, and the heart. The above results suggest that the MMC-PGA composite can serve as a new device for intraperitoneal chemotherapy of various types of cancers.

        3차원 전기비저항 역산 방법을 이용한 삼보 광산에서 금광 탐사

        전라남도 무안군 해제면에 위치한 삼보광산은 편마암류 및 유문암 내에 발달한 열극에 열수가 충전하여 형성된 열극충전광산이다. 시추 자료에서 얻은 분석 품위는 금이 0.05~10.9 g/t 이하, 은이 0.05~389 g/t 이하로 부분적으로 금·은광화작용이 인지되었다. 본 연구는 지표에서의 쌍극자, 슐럼버저 및 웨너 배열을 이용한 전기비저항 탐사와 시추공에서의 전기비저항 토모그래피 탐사를 복합하여 삼보광산에서 광화대의 분포 및 이와 관련된 지질구조를 파악하고자 한다. 3차원 전기비저항 역산의 결과는 광화대가 지표부터 약 80m 심도까지 30m의 폭을 가지며, N10°~20°E의 방향으로 240m 연장되어 있음을 보여준다. 전기비저항 영상에서 얻어진 1,000ohm-m 이하의 전기비저항 값은 시추 자료에서 확인된 금·은광화작용이 인지된 구간 및 연약대 구간과 거의 일치하였다. The Sambo mine is located in Hae-je Myeon, Moo-an Gun, Chollanamdo, which consists of host gneiss and rhyolite possessing quartzite veins with other compositions such as gold, silver, and sublimated sulfur. The ore grade estimated from the core was 0.05~10.9g/t or less in gold and 0.05~389g/t or less in silver, indicating a partial mineralization. The purpose of this paper is to understand the subsurface structures and the distribution of mineralized bodies in the Sambo mine using a combined method of Schlumberger, Wenner, and Dipole-dipole resistivity surveys on the surface and the resistivity tomography survey in boreholes. The result of three-dimensional resistivity inversion showed that the mineralized body is extended to 240m long in the N10°~20°E direction, with 30m wide and 80 m thick from the surface. The low resistivity zones (<1,000ohm-m) determined from the resistivity image were in good agreement with the mineralized bodies and weak zones identified from the logged cores.

        DAF에서 기포크기의 영향

        Bubble size is one of the most important parameters affecting DAF (Dissolved-Air-Flotation) process. It is generally known that small bubbles are prefened. However, the fact seems to be based on the particle removal efficiency at contact zone only, without considering separation zone. Besides, the effect of bubble size on the overall DAF process has not been fully investigated yet. Therefore, the effect of bubble size on collision efficiency, collision chances, and surface loading rate is calculated using theoretical models, and the results are discussed in this paper.

        18세기 祭亡室文의 공적 기능과 글쓰기

        본 논문은 18세기의 제망실문을 대상으로, 제망실문의 공적 부분이 지향하는 현실적인 기능과 그 글쓰기 방식의 관게를 작품론과 일반론의 차원에서 살펴보았다. 채제공의 제망실문에 대한 구체적인 분석과 18세 제망실문에 대한 일반적 분석을 통해 보면, 제망실문의 공적 성격은 망자를 추상화·전형화 하는 글쓰기와 연결되어 있다. 이것은 사실상 제문이 지닌 기본적 성격의 일부이다. 그런데 18세기의 제망실문에 오면 이 부분이 제문의 진정성을 훼손시킬 정도로 비대해지는 경향을 보이며, 매너리즘화에 대한 비판을 야기할 만큼 일반화된다. 글쓰기라는 측면에서도 규훈서나 행장류의 글쓰기에 접근하는 경향을 노출하고 있어서 ‘非-祭文的’ 글쓰기라는 비판을 받기도 한다. 본고는 당대의 문예적 작가들로부터 비판을 받았던 이러한 글쓰기 방식이 제망실문의 현실적 기능을 고려하는 작가군이 적극적으로 발전시킨 글쓰기 방식이라고 파악한다. 제문은 문예문의 가능성을 지니지만 기본적으로 생활문이기 때문이다. 18세기 제망실문에서 드러나는 공적 부분의 매너리즘화는 조선 후기 가정 내 규훈서 편찬의 일반화와 맞물려 있는 현상이다. 즉 17세기 후반 이후 재편되는 유고적 가족질서와 확대되는 가문의식과 연계하여, 가정 내 여성들을 교육하기 위한 기능을 가정 내 규훈서와 제망실문이 양 방향에서 담당하는 것이, 이 시기 제망실문이 담당했던 현실적 기능이었다. 그렇다면 규훈서나 행장류에 접근하는 18세기 제망실문의 글쓰기는 이러한 현실적 기능을 추구하는 적극적인 글쓰기 방식인 것이다. This study is on Jemangsilmoon(祭亡室文), or funeral odes for a dead wife, in the 18th century. The relation between the practical function of Jemangsilmoon's public aspect and its way of writing has been investigated as part of generic and literary study. Literary and generic analysis of Chajaegon(채제공)'s Jemangsilmoon weals the fad that Jemangsilmoon's ceremonial traits are related to making the dead person abstract. It is true that this is one of the basic characteristics of Jemangsilmoon's double structure. However, in the 18th century, its public and ceremonial ' function has become so great that its authenticity as a funeral ode is somewhat damaged and that it has often been criticised to be "un-ceremonial" as have conduct books or biographical writings for the dead. Even though contemporary literary writers criticized this kind of writing, writers who were concerned about Jemangsilmoon's practical purposes actively developed it. It lost its emotional expression and fell into a simple ceremonial device. This change ran parallel with making up family conduct books in the latter period of Josun Dynasty. The latter period of Josun Dynasty witnessed the development of family order and clan consciousness based on Confucianism. Jemangsilmoon of the 18th century, together with the family conduct books, became one of the important ways to educate females. Therefore it can be concluded that the 18th century Jemangsilmoon like conduct books or biological writings, was an active way of writing for practical purposes.
