        A 9 months intact male American bull dog with chief complaints of dry cough, dyspnea and fever was referred to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Chungnam National University. Based on the findings of physical examination, radiological examination, and blood and blood chemical examinations, the present patient was diagnosed into pulmonary edema secondary to primary bacterial and aspiration pneumonia. The patient was hospitalized and treated with buscopan, cephazolin and furosemide for 1 week. His activity and appetite was returned to normal and thoracic radiographs revealed that Jung was recovered to the normal condition after treatment for 7 days. The present patient was a case with pulmonary edema showed favorable therapeutic responses to proper medication.

      • Brucella abortus 국내 분리주의 36kDa 외막단백을 암호하는 omp2b 유전자의 염기 분석

        B. abortus 국내 분리주의 분자유전학적 성상을 규명하고 분자역학적 연구에 필요한 기초자료를 얻기 위해 36kDa OMP를 암호하는 omp2b 유전자를 PCR법으로 확인하고,그리고 omp2b 유전자의 핵염기 서열과 아미노산 서열을 결정하고 이 결과를 Brucella 표준균주 및 여러 동물에서 분리된 Brucella 분리주와 상호 비교 분석하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. B. abortus 분리 주 (7주)에 대해 omp2b primers를 이용하여 PCR을 수행한 바 공시한 참조균주와 분 리균주 모두에서 1,251bp의 특이한 DNA 절편이 각각 증폭되었다. 2. omp2b 유전자의 1,089bp에 대한 염기서열과 이에 대한 362개의 아미노산 서열을 결정하였다. 분리 균주의 omp2b 유전자의 염기서열을 참조균주와 비교 분석한 결과 B. abortus 2308 (biovar 1) 및 B abortus B3196 (biovar 5)과는 99.6%∼100% 및 99.5%∼99.9%의 매우 높은 상동성을 나타내었고,B. abortus 45/20 (biovar 1)과는 97.1%~97.4%의 상동성을 나타내었다. 또한 362개의 아미노산 서열에 대해 분석하였던 바,분리균주들은 B.abortustus 2308 (biovar 1) 및 B. abortus B3196 (biovar 5)과는 99.2%∼100%의 매우 높은 상동성을 보였으며,B. abortus 45/20 (biovar 1)과는 96.4%∼ 97.2%의 상동성을 보였다. 3. 본 시험에 공사된 브루셈라균주의 omp2b 유전자 서열과 여러 동물에서 분리된 브루셀라 분리주의 자료를 바탕으로 phylogenetic tree를 작성 한 바,국내 분리주는 B. abortus 2308 (biovar 1),B. abortus B3196 (biovar 5),B. abortus 45/20 (biovar 1),B. suis 1330 (biovar 1),B. melitensis 16M (biovar 1),B. canis NCTC 01854,B. neotomae 5K33과 97.3% 이상의 높은 근연성을 보이며 동일한 cluster에 소속되었으며,omp2b 유전자는 매우 잘 보존됨을 알 수 있었다. omp2b gene of Brucella abortus isolates encoding 36kDa outer membrane protein (OMP) was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and the sequences of nucleotide and amino acid were determined and analyzed to obtain the basic data for molecular epidemiological features of brucellosis in Korea. In PCR using omp2b primers for the gene of 36kDa aMP, the specific signals at 1,251bp were demonstrated, The nucleotide sequences of omp2b gene of 1,089bp were sequenced by dye terminator cycle sequencing method, and 362 amino acid sequences were predicted. As compared the nucleotide sequences with those of B. abortus reference strains, the isolates showed the very high homology to the reference strains ranging 97.1%∼100%. The similar results were also obtained in the analysis of the amino acid sequences. In the phylogenetic tree, the isolates clustered with the reference strains and the majority of strains originated from pig, dog, wood rat and cattle.

        야뇨증 환아들의 심리사회적 특성에 대한 다기관 연구 : 행동 및 정서 문제를 중심으로

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.

      • Sarcoma 180 이식마우스에서 Interleukin-2, 4 10의 변화

        Experiments were undertaken to investigate the effect of cancer cell, sarcoma 180 (S180) on production of interleukin(IL)-2, 4, and 10 in BALB/c mice. Splenocytes of normal mice were incubated with S 180 cells. The culture supernatants were collected at 2, 4, 6, 24, and 72 hr and assessed for IL-2, 4, and IL-10 production by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The production of IL-2 in the culture supernatant of adherent cells exposed with S 180 was not detected, but it increased at 24 and 72 hr in culture with non-adherent or whole splenocyte. The production of IL-4 in the culture supernatant of S 180, adherent, non-adherent or whole splenocyte was detected, but by co-culture with S 180 it showed significant increase at 72 hr. Also, the production of IL-10 in the culture supernatant of S 180, adherent, non-adherent, or whole splenocytes was detected. By exposure with S 180 it increased to 10-80 times in comparison with the control. Normal mice were transplanted with S 180 into peritoneum. Sera and peritoneal fluids(PF) were collected at 2, 4, 6, and 24 hr. The production of IL-2 in sera was not detected, but in PF it was a little. The production of IL-4 in sera or PF was detected, but it showed the significant decrease in comparison with the control. The production of IL-10 in sera was detected in transplantation or control group, and it increased in transplantation group. The production of IL-10 in PF showed the increase at 24 hr. By exposure of S 180 tumor cells in immuno-competent cells or transplantation with S 180 into mouse, IL-4 decreased in sera and PF, but IL-10 showed the remarkable increase in the culture supernatant of splenocytes and in sea. These data suggest that the unbalanced conditions such as suppression of IL-4 production and overproduction of IL-10 in vivo may be responsible for dysfunction of immune system.

      • MEMS 기술을 이용한 집적형 고주파 필터

        마이크로 머시닝 기술을 이용하여 기판 소비 면적을 최소화하고, 수 GHz 대역에서 사용 가능한 대역통과 필터를 제작하였다. 기존의 MEMS 기술을 이용하여 구현된 초소형 필터 소자들이 집중소자(Lumped Element)의 형태를 가지며 구현된 데 반해, 본 논문에서는 분포 소자의 (Distributed Element) 형태로 구현하여 기존 소자들이 가지고 있던 단점을 극복하고자 하였다. 구현된 소자는 폴리이미드와 금속의 다층 구조를 가지며 일반적으로 사용되는 공정만을 사용하였고 bonding과 같은 별도의 패키징 공정이 요구되지 않아 저 비용 구현이 가능하고 MMIC 와 같은 공정에 부합되는 장점을 가지고 있다. 측정결과 수 GHz 대역에서 최소 5% 의 대역폭을 나타내었으며 여러 상용 무선 통신 모듈에 대한 사용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

        In view of the result of this study, when we try to adapt the to adapt the method of 'Problem Posing", we can find it is desirable to teach the students by different methods according to students' learning ability. The reason for the necessity of the teaching-learning of the teaching-learning of problem posing is as follow First, teaching-learning by problem posing can stimulate the students' interest in Mathematics and them have the self-confidence if ti, Secondly, teaching-learning of problem posing is helpful to raise the mathematical ability by having the chance to think, on the other hand we can suppose many advantages like this; 1)Problem posing class gives the students the chance to evaluate themselves. 2)By seeing the other's presenting, the students themselves can take part in class without having burden from the positive response to know the unthinking part. 3)The students will be able to feel some what self-confidence and find by themselves worth things by truing to solve problems, we will have to lead the students to change a problem style in to more generalized one. or to set a series of studying in order to solve many problems for themselves in a new situation. this problem posing class could be said with more positive effectiveness than present explanatory class. the students will have to take a problem posing lesson, trying to make the problems on the basis of the mathematical thinking. Among these classified problems, several effective problems are picked up in order to ask and discuss in a class. Through having a series of learning process like this, the students will be interested in learning, and have to motive to learning of mathematics. We can find the desirable aspects leading the interest toward mathematics study and the improvement in grades.

        시화호의 계절변화에 따른 지화학적 환경요인 특성 연구

        Seasonal variation of biogeochemical characteristics was determined in Lake Shihwa from October 2002 to August 2003. When the lake was artificially constructed for the freshwater reservoir in 1988, the development of the strong haline density stratification resulted in two-layered system in water column and hypoxic/anoxic environment prevailed in the bottom layer due to oxidation of accumulated organic matters in the lake. Recently, seawater flux to the lake through the sluice has been increased to improve water quality in the lake since 2000, but seasonal stratification and hypoxic bottom layer of the lake still developed in the summer due to the nature of artificially enclosed lake system. As the lake is still receiving tremendous amount of organic matters and other pollutants from neighboring streams during the rainy summer season, limited seawater flux sluicing into the lake may not be enough for the physical and biogeochemical mass balance especially in the summer. The excess of accumulated organic matters in the bottom layer apparently exhausted dissolved oxygen and affected biogeochemical distributions and processes of organic and inorganic compounds in the stratified two-layered environment in the summer. During the summer, ammonia and dissolved organic carbon remarkably increased in the bottom layer due to the hypoxic/anoxic condition in the bottom layer. Phosphate also increased as the result of benthic flux from the bottom sediment. Meanwhile, dissolved organic carbon showed the highest value at the upstream area and decreased along the salinity gradient in the lake. In addition to the sources from the upstream, autochthonous origin of particulate organic carbon from algal bloom in the lake might be more important for sustaining aggravated water quality and development of deteriorated bottom environment in the summer. The removal of trace metals could be attributed to scavenging by strong insoluble metal-sulfide compounds in the hypoxic/anoxic bottom layer in the summer.
