Purpose: The consequences of precipitously rising allergic skin inflammation rates worldwide have accelerated the risk of atopic dermatitis (AD). Natural product-based agents with good efficacy and low risk of side effects offer promising prevention and treatment strategies for inflammation-related diseases. We have already reported that Platycodon grandiflorum root-derived saponins (Changkil saponins, CKS) have many pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, but its influence on AD remains unclear. Therefore, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on AD-like skin symptoms in mice and the possible mechanisms in cells. Methods: Mice were sensitized and challenged with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB). Four weeks after challenge, mice were treated with oral administration of CKS for 4 weeks. In addition, cells were used to evaluate the effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on the TARC expression regulated mechanism. Results: CKS attenuated DNCB-induced dermatitis severity, serum levels of IgE and TARC, and mRNA expression of TARC, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 in mice. Histopathological examination showed reduced thickness of the epidermis/dermis and dermal infiltration of inflammatory cells and mast cells in the ears. Moreover, CKS and platycodin D inhibited TNF-α/IFN-γ-induced TARC expression through the suppression of NF-κB and STAT1 and induction of Nrf2/ARE-mediated hemeoxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in cells. Conclusion: We suggest that CKS and platycodin D inhibited the development of AD-like skin symptoms by regulating cytokine mediators and may be an effective alternative therapy for AD-like skin symptoms.ⓒ2014 Elsevler Gmbh. In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

Antennas are base component in any electronic system that uses free space electromagnetic wave transmission for communications. However, antennas can have very difference configurations and characteristics, depending on the purpose for which they are used and the frequency band for which they are designed. This paper presents analysis and design for printed Yagi-Uda antennas on the dielectric substrate. For the miniaturization of the antennas, dielectric substrate (ε_(r)=4.6) and planar line structure are used. The proposed Yagi-Uda antennas are simulated using commercial simulator (HFSS). The results of the simulation are presented and compared with characteristics of each array type. Especial, the proposed antennas can be applied to the design of various communication systems for 2.4 GHz band.

A small size microstrip patch antenna is designed and implemented for GPS location service(E911 service) with use CDMA2000 cellular phone. To realize the characteristics of circular polarization use rectangular patch and the antenna is permittivity dielectric substrate and small ground plan are used. Results of the manufactured antenna(13×13 mm) show that the maximum antenna gain is about 12 dBi, the axial ratio is less than 3 dB, and the current consumption of LNA is less than 4 mA.

The cavitation erosion-corrosion under such an or ironments became a serious problem on a mechanical devices and structures by the shock wave or shock pressure result when bubbles form and collapse at a surface of metal within a liquid. If the liquid is corrosive to the material, the component of material may have serious damage by a combination of mechanical and electrochemical attack. Therefore, it is very important to study the behaviour of the cavitation erosion-corrosion damage. In this study, austenitic stainless steel was investigated by using the poezoelectric vibrator with 20㎑, 24㎛ to cavity generation apparatus. The composition of test solutions are artificial seawater, tap wafter, distilled water and various solutions of pH( from pH 0 to pH 12 ). Every cases of these test, the erosion-corrosion damages under vibratory cavitation are measured by weight loss, weight loss rate and potentiodynamic polarization curves.

Bluetooth stands for a technical specification for radio communication or a radio equipment that uses the Bluetooth specification of which the main purpose is to substitute the complicated communication cable of the informative device or electronic apparatus used at home or industrial fields, and was expected to be a mastermind of revolution in the short range radio communication. In This paper, a small inverted F antenna on the dielectric substrate using Bluetooth system is studied theoretically, characterized by numerical analysis with computer simulation. For the miniaturization of the antenna, dielectric substrate (ε_(r)=4.6) and planar line structure are used. Fabricated inverted F antenna is measured and the result is that resonant frequency is 2.45 GHz, input impedance is 50 Ω and bandwidth is about 100 MHz at VSWR 1.5. Especially, the proposed antennas can be applied to the design of various communication systems for 2.4 GHz band.

In this study, a basic standard needed for antenna measurement system is drawn up to support test of the developed antenna product and confirmation of its performances. Some basic theories of characteristics and measurement techniques of the antenna are studied and the condition of the test place, specification of the measurement system, and etc. are researched to satisfy the usage of checking antenna performances. On the basis of these things, a research has been done on a proper test establishment for various purposes and their technical foundations. This paper also introduce and analyze the international standard(CTIA) of the radiation characteristic for mobile phone.

A new large analysis method for large-scale network is introduced. With a geometric circuit diagram and figure, simple network equations are induced. These equations can be represented on a matrix. The basic circuit analytic method is a loop-analysis. In case of nonequivalent circuit transfer and voltage-current sources, for network analytic equations, circuit arlalysis laws are not used, but the total network is redesigned with a geometrical structure. Power sources, RLC elements are eliminated on this structure for a moment. These elements and circuit laws are included in the geometric analyzing procedure. Geometric current tracks produce source equations. Selected loop has its loop eauation. With the relation between standard loop current and current track, every network equations are produced.
