Choanal polyps are a separate clinical entity. While the etiology of choanal polyps is unclear, they present a fairly uniform clinical picture. Maxillary sinus is the usual site of origin, but in rare cases, a choanal polyp may originate from a different site, e.g, turbinate sinus, anteroinferior surface of the ethmoidal bulla, sphenoethmoidal recess, or sphenoid sinus. A 37 year-old woman was referred with 6 months history of nasal obstruction. Anterior rhinoscopic examination revealed the large polyp on the posterior portion of nasal cavity extending to the choana. Endoscopic and radiologic evaluation was taken, and FESS was performed. Polyp was removed completely. We report this case with review of the literature.

성인에서 발생한 급성 부비동염에 의한 안와봉와직염 1례

Complications of paranasal sinusitis has been progressively decreasing since the advent of antibiotics. The periorbital cellulitis most commonly arises from the spread of contiguous infections of the lids, teeth, or paranasal sinuses. The most frequently isolated pathogens in the orbital infection are staphylococcus and streptococcus pyogen. The periorbital cellulitis occurs most frequently in the childhood. We report one case of periorbital cellulitis induced by acute ethmoiditis. A 37-year-old male patient visited the otolaryngologic out patient clinic with symptom of severe headache around left orbital area for 2 days. The physical examination revealed no gross abnormality except mucopurulent discharge from the left middle meatus. A plain paranasal sinus films showed hazziness in the left ethmoid sinus and frontal sinus. The patient was admitted due to severe headache. On the evening of admission day the patient's left eyeball was protruded and periorbital edema occured. Although the administration of parenteral antibiotics the edema and protrusion of left eyeball became worse, and orbital sonogram revealed cellulitis. An emergency intranasal ethmoidectomy under the endoscopic control was performed on the third admission day. On the second postoperative day the patient's eyelid swelling decreased. On the sixth postoperative day the patient was discharged without orbital sequelae. We report this case with review of the literature.

소아환자의 깊은 진정요법 하에서 근단변위 판막술을 이용한 거대협소대의 치료

The mandibular buccal frenum is defined as a fold of mucous membrane at the posterior labial vestibule and attaches the lips and the cheeks to the alveolar mucosa, gingiva, and underlying periosteum. The buccal frenum becomes a problem when its attachment is too colse to the marginal gingiva. It may then pull on healthy gingiva, encourage plaque formation and interfere with tooth brushing. Especially, heavy buccal frenum mucogingivally results in insufficent attached gingiva, inadequate vestibular depth and high frenum attachment and also difficulty in eruption of mandibular premolar. Frenotomy, frenectomy and mucogingival surgery are used in treating heavy buccal frenum. Frenotomy with autogenous free gingival graft has been used popularly because of its stable result. But, it is difficult in younger children because of inadequate donor site, difficulty in making recipient site and behavior management. Frenotomy with apically positioned flap is considered as more efficient way for a very young child with heavy buccal frenum. Additionally, modified deep sedation with N₂O-O₂can be used as an adjunct for the effective treatment outcome. Decrease in muscle pull, adequate width of attached gingiva and increased vestibular depth can be expected from this treatment approach.

세라믹필터 역세정에 노즐 및 디퓨저 형상이 미치는 영향

The present study has been conducted experimentally to optimize the nozzle and diffuser shapes and diameters for dust removal system. Investigation of a dust removal system has been carried out to develop hot gas clean-up technology and to study for feasibility of clean coal technology pilot plant construction. Experiments was conducted to investigate the effects of pulse nozz1e and diffuser shapes on the air entrainments and on the pressure distribution in a particulate removal system. The main experimental parameters are different nozz1e shapes, nozzle diameters and nozzle tip positions from the diffuser upper plane. Especially, two different types of diffusers with a convergent-divergent shape and a divergent shape were tested systematically. 분산중합을 이용한 Poly(MMA-co-2-HEMA)의 고 고분자량의 합성 및 특성 연구

Poly[methyl methacrylate(MMA)-co-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(2-HEMA)] particles were synthesized by dispersion polymerization in a cyclic hydrocarbon medium. The reactions were carried out at 72~80℃ in the presence of SIS block copolymer and t-butyl peroxy-2-ethyl hexanoate, as steric stabilizer and initiator, respectively. The used cyclic hydrocarbon medium were cyclohexane and methyl cyclohexane. The resulting poly(MMA/2-HEMA) latexes were found to be monodisperse particle diameter of 2~3㎛. Dispersion polymerization of poly(MMA/2-HEMA) were carried out to investigate the effect of concentration of initiator. The molecular weight of poly(MMA/2-HEMA) in presence of methyl cyclohexane than cyclohexane was increased.

울릉도 지역주민의 휴양영향지각 분석

The purpose of this study were to understand the resident's attitudes toward Ulleung Island and to identify the residents' perception of recreation and the influence of socioeconomic characteristics on their response. In summer of 1999, 222 questioners were obtained from a convenience sample of households within Ulleung Island. The residents perceived both positive and negative environ-recreation and economic impacts, most of the residents supported additional recreation development and disagreed to limit the number of visitors. Their perception of recreation impacts were varied with age, education level, economic dependency on recreation place of residence, and length of residence.

환경농업에 대한 인식과 태도 : 수도권 9개 생활협동조합의 사례 Focused on 9 Consumer and Life Cooperatives in the Metropolitan Area

With emphasis on environmentally safe and sustainable and economically sound and oriented to consumer, this study intends to assess the consumer's cognition and attitudes for safe food distribution, to investigate the supplying system of the organic farm products, to survey the consumer and life cooperatives dealing with organic farm products, and to draw some implications toward environment and consumer-oriented agriculture. Related literatures and available documents were reviewed to conceptualize the environmental-and consumer-oriented agriculture and consumer and life cooperatives, to grasp the nationwide status of such alternative agriculture and consumer cooperatives, and investigate the consumers' cognition and attitude. In order to investigate the consumers' needs for organic farm products and to grasp the active consumer and life cooperatives dealing with organic farm products, questionnaire method and non-structured interview were applied. The environment-and consumer-oriented agriculture refers hero to the farming system in which any farm food and other living products giving no harm to human and livestock health and catering the consumers' need. The consumer and life cooperatives is consumer's group buying and selling organic farm products organized in the cooperative system with which any consumer can be affiliated to buy organic farm p개ducts safely and reasonably.

A2024와 SM45C 마찰용접의 열전달 해석

The heat transfer mechanism initiating the friction welding is examined and a transient three dimensional heat conduction model for the welding of two dissimilar cylindrical metal bars is investigated. The cylindrical metal bars are made of materials made of A2024 and SM45C. Numerical simulations of heat flow are performed using the finite volume method. Respectively, Commercial FLUENT code is used in the heat flow simulation and maximum temperature and distribution of temperature are calculated. Temperature of friction welded joining face is compared with the temperature distribution measured by experiment and numerical simulation. The maximum temperature of friction welded joining face is lower than melting point of A2024-T6 aluminum alloy using insert metal. The temperature distribution of friction welded joining face with insert metal is more uniform than that of without insert metal

CATV 망에서의 고속 DATA 서비스를 위한 적정 셀 규모에 관한 연구

Recently the surrounding of data communication industry has been changing through the rapid growth of the information technology, which has been sparked by the convergence of computer and optical fiber technology. This phenomenon requires broadband network to transmit video, audio and data at once. Multimedia and broadband services are provided widely over the Internet. The traditional telephone companies, CATV operators, and Internet service providers are all rushing to provide integrated services over their infra-structures. Among them, CATV seems to be the most promising from an economic perspective, because CATV infrastructure is already in place in a majority of homes and can deliver broadband service without requiring costly upgrade of the existing CATV systems. In this paper, analysis the problem of data services over CATV network, suggest size the proper cell for the high speed data services over CATV network.
