<P>In this paper, in order to improve the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells, we introduced zirconia [ZrO2] nanofibers into a mesoporous titania [TiO2] photoelectrode. The photoelectrode consists of a few weight percent of ZrO2 nanofibers and a mesoporous TiO2 powder. The mixed ZrO2 nanofibers and the mesoporous TiO2 powder possessed a larger surface area than the corresponding mesoporous TiO2 powder. The optimum ratio of the ZrO2 nanofiber was 5 wt.%. The 5 wt.% ZrO2-mixed device could get a short-circuit photocurrent density of 15.9 mA/cm2, an open-circuit photovoltage of 0.69 V, a fill factor of 0.60, and a light-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 6.5% under irradiation of AM 1.5 (100 mW/cm2).</P>

Wang, Jun-Jiang,Liu, Ying,Zheng, Yang,Lin, Feng,Cai, Guan-Fu,Yao, Xue-Qing Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.4
Background and Objective: Protein expression in colon and rectal cancer (CRC) and paired normal tissues was examined by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) to identify differentially expressed proteins. Materials and Methods: Five fresh colorectal cancer and paired adjacent normal tissues were obtained and differentially expressed protein spots were determined using PDQuest software, with identification on the basis of MALDI-TOF mass spectra. Results: Compared with normal colorectal mucosa, protein abnormal expression of 65 spots varying more than 1.5 times were found in 2-DE gels from colorectal cancer samples (P<0.05); forty-two proteins were up-regulated and 23 were down-regulated; twelve protein spots were identified using mass spectrometry, of which 8 were up-regulated, includimng HSPB1and Annexin A4, while 4 were down-regulated, the results being consistent with Western blot findings. Conclusions: Two-dimensional electrophoresis reference maps for CRC tissues and adjacent normal mucosa (NMC) were established and 12 differentially expressed proteins were identified. Up-regulated HSPB1 and Annexin A4 may play many important roles in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer.

Exercise dosage is proven to be an important factor in the physical treatment. Robot assistive approach can improve the rehabilitation quality and evaluate patient’s recovery quantitatively. This paper presents kinematic structure, assistive control system, and integrated F/T sensor for an upper limb rehabilitation robot. By using the human arm dynamic, there are three rehabilitation modes presented in this paper: active mode, assistive mode, and passive mode. In assistive mode, we have two strategies to implement it. One is to amplify interactive torque, and the other is to apply assist-as-needed concept. The goal of this mode is to assist patients to finish motion tasks. The rehabilitation robot under investigation has 7 degree of freedom (DOF) actuated by DC motors, which are programmed to drive the robot arm in the 3D space. To validate our control design, some realistic experiments are conducted and its satisfactory performance is demonstrated. This work is approved clinical testing by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan, R.O.C. So far, we are demonstrating the effect of our controller.
Multi-type Feature Fusion Technique for Weed Identification in Cotton Fields
Guan Lin,Liu Zhenzhong,Wu Qiufeng,Wang Lulu 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.2
Weed identification is core of precision variable spray technology and weed information management system. Single type features are difficult to identify multi-class weeds in cotton fields. In this paper, multi-type feature fusion technique for weed identification is proposed. Firstly, multi-type features are extracted. In color feature extraction, FMS, SMS and TMS in HSI are extracted by color moment. In shape feature extraction, REC, RWL, CIR and SPH are extracted by geometric parameter method. In texture feature extraction, ASM, CON and COR are extracted by GLCM. Secondly, because feature dimension is too large, principle component analysis is used to reduce dimension to extract new features including COR, ASM, REC and two components. Finally, three comparative experiments including identification of five kinds of weeds, three kinds of weeds and two kinds of weeds are carried out. Experimental results show that method proposed in this paper is superior to state of the art and is suitable for identification of multi-class weeds. This method can also be applied in identifying weeds in other fields.

<P>Sodium rhodizonate (Na2C6O6) has very high theoretical capacity as a positive electrode material of sodium-ion batteries, but it still has problems such as low actual capacity and poor electronic/ionic conductivity. In order to improve its conductivity, we investigated its structure and electrical properties under high pressure. By performing in situ X-ray diffraction, Raman, infrared absorption, and alternating current impedance spectroscopy in the range of 0-30 GPa at room temperature, we observed a phase transition at ∼11 GPa, with the conductivity increasing by an order of magnitude. Above ∼20 GPa, Na2C6O6 gradually amorphized. During the decompression process, the pressure regulation of the structure and properties of the material are reversible. Our study shows that applying external pressure is an effective tool to improve the conductivity of molecular battery materials. The investigation will help to obtain next-generation electrode materials.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

The aim of this study was to screen for polypeptides binding specifically to LoVo human colorectal cancer cells using a phage-displayed peptide library as a targeting vector for colorectal cancer therapy. Human normal colorectal mucous epithelial cells were applied as absorber cells for subtraction biopanning with a c7c phage display peptide library. Positive phage clones were identified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and immunofluorescence detection; amino acid sequences were deduced by DNA sequencing. After 3 rounds of screening, 5 of 20 phage clones screened positive, showing specific binding to LoVo cells and a conserved RPM motif. Specific peptides against colorectal cancer cells could be obtained from a phage display peptide library and may be used as potential vectors for targeting therapy for colorectal cancer.

Zhidan Lin,Zixian Guan,Baofeng Xu,Chao Chen,Guangheng Guo,Jiaxian Zhou,Jiaming Xian,Lin Cao,Yueliang Wang,Mingqing Li,Wei Li 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.2
In this research, we used a twin-screw extruder to melt and blend PP-g-MA compatibilizer with bpolypropylene (PP)/polyamide 6 (PA6). The influences of the PA6 and PP-g-MA contents in PP/PA6 blends on crystallization and melting behavior of PP phase and morphology were investigated. The results showed that, when PP-g-MA copolymer was added to the b form of nucleated PP/PA6 blends, the anhydride groups in PP-g-MA and PA6 terminal amine groups react to form PP-g-PA graft copolymer in a two-phase interface. This reduces the interfacial tension, improves the interfacial adhesion, and reduces the size of PA6 domains in the blend. The generated PP-g-PA graft copolymer wrapped PA6 phase and buried the anhydride groups of PP-g-MA. When the proportion of PP-g-MA and PA6 was between 0.5 and 0.75, there was no longer interfering to the formation of b-crystals in the PP phase. The content of bcrystal of PP phase in blends was found to reach as large as 85.9%.

Finite-time Incremental Stability Analysis for Nonlinear Switched Systems With Unstable Subsystems
Lijuan Wang,Yuanhong Ren,Yushi Yang,Lin Guan 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.10
In this paper, finite-time incremental stability (FTIS) and finite-time incremental boundedness (FTIB) are investigated for nonlinear switched systems (NSS) with unstable systems. Firstly, based on the reverse modedependent average dwell time (MDADT) method, we propose some sufficient conditions for FTIS of NSS. Secondly, the sufficient conditions for NSS to be FTIB with an incremental performance index are given by the multiple incremental Lyapunov functions. Finally, a distinctive advantage of reverse MDADT method is that each subsystems satisfies FTIB in the activation interval. A example has been provided to show the effectiveness of the theoretic results developed.
