      • The First Investigation and Discuss of Competition of Regulations of Martial Arts in the World University Games

        Purpose: make sure that in 2017 the world university games became with satisfactory results, put the focus in the investigation and regulations of the martial art and the competition in. Method: documents and investigation method, interview and discuss method, date recompilation method, logistic method. Result: trough the investigation and the result of the actual status of the martial art regulation and rules, including the norms of the world university games, there must be put attention in the next points for the future next competition of wushu: cultural, recreative, attack and defensive, these are what the professional assists put attention in. Conclusion: 1. there is the focus and the important in the way of the judges during the event, wushu and Sanda as well. 2. Focus in the method of judge and how to evaluate in the competition.

      • Heping District, Taichung City, Central Taiwan D045&D046 Large-scale Landslide Area Investigation

        The survey area, Songbo settlement, is located at Lishan area, Heping District, Taichung City near Techi Reservoir watershed, central Taiwan. There are many geomorphological features related to landslide and were divided into two large-scale landslide areas numbered as D045 and D046 by Central Geological Survey, MOEA. D046 has higher landslide-potential than D045. In order to ensure the operation of the Techi Reservoir and the safety of the Songbo settlement, the Taichung Branch of the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau promoted the project and carried out investigation and planning work. The stratum that produced the displacement at that time was explained to be the BIMROCK layer and the stratum is relatively stable. The unstable stratum is distributed in the colluvium (CV) and its thickness from a few meters to more than 50 meters. Through the field survey results including surface seepage points investigating, road cracks and subsidence sketching, gully and drainage ditch conditions investigating, construction, poles and trees investigating, and cracks in retaining walls sketching, etc., only local area shows higher landslide potential but whole area. Besides, monitoring data such as inclinometers casing, GPS, groundwater level observation and field survey results can identify the anomalies found in the activity of potential landslide bodies.

        Case Reports : Surgical Treatment for 11 Cases of Penile Verrucous Carcinoma

        Penile verrucous carcinoma is a rare, well-differentiated and low-grade tumor. The surgeons are deficiently aware about the biological behavior and the clinicopathological characteristic of this disease, which raises difficulties during the treatment. In our present study, the clinical and pathological data of 11 patients with penile verrucous carcinoma, aged between 49 to 85 years was retrospectively analyzed. The tumors exhibited exophytic, papillary, caulifower-like or verrucose lesions of great dimensions measuring between 2 to 10 cm on the penises. The tumors were located at glans in 6 cases, invaded the coronoid sulcus in 4 cases and invaded the shaft of the penis in 1 case. Eight cases underwent partial penectomy, while the other 3 were treated with local excision. The diagnosis of penile verrucous carcinoma was confirmed by histopathologic examination of the specimens with the negative surgical margins in all the cases. Within the period of 12 to 60 months of follow-up, all the patients were disease-free with no case of recurrence and metastasis. The novel knowledge and experience of the treatment of penile verrucous carcinoma will be a useful clinical guide for surgeons in the future. (Ann Dermatol 23(S3) S346~S349, 2011)

        Influence of Dielectric Barrier Discharge Electrical Properties on the Surface Modification of Polyethylene

        Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is a commonly used plasma surface modification technique, and the power parameters play a crucial role in influencing the modification results. Electrical properties of DBD pulses were studied by varying both power and frequency. Additionally, how these electrical properties influence the chemical and topographical alterations in polyethylene surface modification was investigated. In terms of chemical changes, we found that higher power supply significantly enhances the modification result, whereas alterations in frequency do not exert a substantial impact. Concerning topographical changes, increased power supply yielded similarly effective results, while heightened supply frequency improved the modification result due to the enhanced uniformity of discharge pulses. Regarding hydrophobicity, power supply exerts a more significant and pronounced influence compared to frequency.

        Recombinant-attenuated Salmonella Pullorum strain expressing the hemagglutinin-neuraminidase protein of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) protects chickens against NDV and Salmonella Pullorum challenge

        Newcastle disease virus (NDV) and Salmonella Pullorum have significant damaging effects on the poultry industry, but no previous vaccinecan protect poultry effectively. In this study, a recombinant-attenuated S. Pullorum strain secreting the NDV hemagglutinin-neuraminidase(HN) protein, C79-13ΔcrpΔasd (pYA-HN), was constructed by using the suicide plasmid pREasd-mediated bacteria homologousrecombination method to form a new bivalent vaccine candidate against Newcastle disease (ND) and S. Pullorum disease (PD). The effectof this vaccine candidate was compared with those of the NDV LaSota and C79-13ΔcrpΔasd (pYA) strains. The serum hemagglutinationinhibition antibody titers, serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies, secretory IgA, and stimulation index in lymphocyte proliferation wereincreased significantly more (p < 0.01) in chickens inoculated with C79-13ΔcrpΔasd (pYA-HN) than with C79-13ΔcrpΔasd (pYA) but werenot significantly increased compared with the chickens immunized with the LaSota live vaccine (p > 0.05). Moreover, the novel strain provides60% and 80% protective efficacy against the NDV virulent strain F48E9 and the S. Pullorum virulent strain C79-13. In summary, in this study,a recombinant-attenuated S. Pullorum strain secreting NDV HN protein was constructed. The generation of the S. Pullorum C79-13ΔcrpΔasd(pYA-HN) strain provides a foundation for the development of an effective living-vector double vaccine against ND and PD.

        Experimental and numerical analysis on the effect of inlet distortion on the performance of a centrifugal fan with a mixing chamber

        Inlet flow distortions, which are caused by fluid mixing, cause a significant deterioration in fan performance. An experimental test rig for an industrial fan with dual inlets and a mixing chamber was constructed. The flow fields in the mixing chamber of the fan were numerically investigated. Consequently, impact parameters, including the length of the mixing chamber (100, 200, and 300 mm) and the mass flow rate ratio (1 to 10), as well as their effects on fan performance, were discussed. A generalized formula considering the Reynolds number, hydraulic diameter, and mixing length was proposed to predict the pressure drop in dual inlets. Results show that the efficiency of and pressure in the fan decreased by 6.5% and 203 Pa, respectively, under mixing inlet condition. Optimum fan performance is achieved at a flow rate ratio of 5 under the same mass flow rate. The increase in the flow rate ratio kept the fan performance almost constant. At the design stage, fan performance and pressure decrease by an average of 2% and 70 Pa in increments of 100 mm mixing length, respectively. The results presented in this paper provide a basis in the design optimization of mixing structures.

        Effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for angina pectoris: An overview of systematic reviews

        Background: The number of systematic reviews or meta-analyses (SRs/MAs) on the effectiveness of acupuncture for angina pectoris (AP) is increasing. Due to the inconsistent conclusions and unknown quality of these SRs/MAs, this overview aimed to systematically evaluate and synthesize the existing SRs/MAs, attempting to provide more reliable evidence for the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in the treatment of AP. Methods: SRs/MAs were searched via eight databases from inception to March 14, 2022. The risk of bias was evaluated using the Risk of Bias in Systematic reviews (ROBIS) tool. The quality of the methodology, reporting, and evidence were assessed by the Assess Systematic Reviews 2 (AMSTAR-2), the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis for Acupuncture (PRISMA-A), and the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system, respectively. Results: Sixteen SRs/MAs were included and fifteen SRs/MAs were considered being of critically low quality according to AMSTAR-2. Only three SRs/MAs were rated at low risk of bias. No study reported all the items listed in the PRISMA-A checklist. No high-quality evidence with GRADE assessment was found. With the low-quality evidence, acupuncture combined with other interventions was superior to monotherapy (medications or Chinese medicine) in the angina symptom and electrocardiogram recovery. No adverse effects owing to acupuncture were reported. Conclusions: Owing to the lack of high-quality evidence provided by the current SRs/MAs, the effective-ness of acupuncture for AP still warrants further proof. Further researches with more critical design and methodology are needed for providing more convincing evidence.         Investigating the Influential Factors in the Metro Choice Behavior: Evidences from Beijing, China

        In recent years, increasing concerns over climate change, and transportation energy consumption have sparked research into the travel behavior, especially metro use. The aim of this research is to investigate the influences of objective factors (e.g. demographics, socioeconomics and daily travel features) and subjective factors (e.g. metro dependence and intention to reduce metro use) on metro mode choice behavior. A Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) framework was applied accounting for the mediating effect from car ownership in this study. Meanwhile, a comparison with the traditional model that ignores mediating role of car ownership and the proposed model was conducted. Using the travel survey data collected from Beijing, the metro use of 527 respondents was analyzed. Based on the model results, the influences of objective factors and the interaction effects between subjective factors and actual metro use were discussed. As for the objective factors, only the variables of high income and household size were found to have significant impacts on subjective metro dependence, intention to reduce metro use and actual metro use. Meanwhile, the results show that higher dependence on metro system enhances the actual metro use but decreases the intention of reducing metro use, and there is negative relationship between actual metro use and intention of reducing metro use. The results are expected to give transport policy makers a better understanding on how the influential factors impact metro mode choice, and consequently develop more effective and targeted countermeasures.

      • Elevated Circulating CD19<sup>+</sup> Lymphocytes Predict Survival Advantage in Patients with Gastric Cancer

        Background: Circulating lymphocyte subsets reflect the immunological status and might therefore be a prognostic indicator in cancer patients. Our aim was to evaluate the clinical significance of circulating lymphocyte subset in gastric cancer (GC) cases. Methods: A retrospective study on a prevalent cohort of 846 GC patients hospitalized at Hospital from Aug 2006 to Jul 2010 was conducted. We calculated the patient's disease free survival (DFS) after first hospital admission, and hazard ratios (HR) from the Cox proportional hazards model. Results: Our findings indicated a significantly decreased percentage of CD3+, and CD8+ cells, a significantly increased proportion of $CD4^+$, $CD19^+$, $CD44^+$, $CD25^+$, NK cells, and an increased $CD4^+/CD8^+$ ratio in GC patients as compared with healthy controls (all P < 0.05). Alteration of lymphocyte subsets was positively correlated with sex, age, smoking, tumor stage and distant metastasis of GC patients (all P<0.05). Follow-up analysis indicated significantly higher DFS for patients with high circulating $CD19^+$ lymphocytes compared to those with low $CD19^+$ lymphocytes (P=0.037), with $CD19^+$ showing an important cutoff of $7.91{\pm}2.98%$ Conclusion: Circulating lymphocyte subsets in GC patients are significantly changed, and elevated CD19+ cells may predict a favorable survival.
