A Theoretical Reexamination of the π-Bond Strengths within the SiH2 XHn System

In this work, we present a calculation of the π-bond energy in the SiH2 XHn system at the QCISD(T)/6-311+ +G(3df,2p) level combined with an isogyric correction, which shows that PSub-DSSE (partly substituted divalent state stabilization energy) is a reliable methodology for analyzing the properties of doubly bonded species by separating the dissociation and substitution effects on either side of the double bonds. Compared to the π-bond energies in the CH2 XHn system, those in the SiH2 XHn system have a better linear relationship with the electronegativity of the elementXbecause of the improvement of the correlation coefficient from 0.802 for the former to 0.924 for the latter. Thismeans that there must be another important factor that comes into effect in the CH2 XHn system. Through statistical analysis, the covalence difference between Si andXor C andX was finally selected as a second descriptor to explain the magnitude of the π-bond energies.
A comparison strategy for improving the precision of contour error estimation

Contour error estimation is one of the most important tasks in contour following control. The general way to estimate the contour error is by carrying out curve approximation at the current reference point. But it will suffer a loss of precision in large tracking lag condition. To improve the accuracy of estimation, iteration of the approximation process is usually inevitable. In this paper, a comparison strategy is proposed to ameliorate the accuracy of traditional contour error estimation. By searching the optimal reference point, then directly performing estimation near the neighbor of real contour error point, the estimation accuracy can be improved and the iteration process can be avoided. Principles and details of the proposed strategy are discussed by numerical simulations. The verification experiments are implemented by employing linear and circular based contour error estimation methods. The proposed strategy exhibits better universal estimation performance compared with several advanced algorithms and is easy to implement on external computer. The compensation results of ellipse path following task show the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed comparison strategy.
Connectedness and compactness of weak efficient solutions for vector equilibrium problems

In this paper, without assumption of monotonicity, we study the compactness and the connectedness of the weakly efficient solutions set to vector equilibrium problems by using scalarization method in locally convex spaces. Our results improve the corresponding results in [X. H. Gong, Connectedness of the solution sets and scalarization for vector equilibrium problems, J. Optim. Theory Appl. 133 (2007), 151-161].
Preparation of Flame Retardant and Antibacterial Wood with Composite Membrane Coating

A novel flame retardant and antibacterial composite membrane coating for wood surfaces was prepared by adding POSS-based phosphorous nitrogen flame retardant (later referred to as NH<sub>2</sub>-POSS) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) to chitosan (CS). The effects of NH<sub>2</sub>-POSS content (mass fractions of CS 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%) on the structure and properties of the composite membrane coating on wood were investigated. The composite film was prepared by the method of blending and ducting. Contact angle, tensile property and antibacterial effects of the composite film were measured, and infrared spectroscopy was used. The results show that the addition of NH<sub>2</sub>-POSS can not only improve the toughness of the membrane, but also the flame retardancy of the membrane, which improves the application of the membrane in wood products. However, with the addition of NH<sub>2</sub>-POSS, the transparency of the composite membrane was weakened. The inhibitory effect of the composite membrane on the growth of Escherichia coli was enhanced with the increase in Ag NPs. This research provides a foundation for the application of functional wood.
Proper efficiency for set-valued optimization problems and vector variational-like inequalities

The purpose of this paper is to establish some relationships between proper efficiency of set-valued optimization problems and proper efficiency of vector variational-like inequalities under the assumptions of generalized cone-preinvexity. Our results extend and improve the corresponding results in the literature.
