Secure Multicast using Proxy Re-Encryption in an IoT Environment
( Suhyun Kim ),( Yongwoon Hwang ),( Jungtaek Seo ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.2
Recently interest in Internet of Things(IoT) has attracted significant attention at national level. IoT can create new services as a technology to exchange data through connections among a huge number of objects around the user. Data communication between objects provides not only information collected in the surrounding environment but also various personalized information. IoT services which provide these various types of data are exposed to numerous security vulnerabilities. If data is maliciously collected and used by an attacker in an IoT environment that deals with various data, security threats are greater than those in existing network environments. Therefore, security of all data exchanged in the IoT environment is essential. However, lightweight terminal devices used in the IoT environment are not suitable for applying the existing encryption algorithm. In addition, IoT networks consisting of many sensors require group communication. Therefore, this paper proposes a secure multicast scheme using the proxy re-encryption method based on Vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANET) environment. The proposed method is suitable for a large-scale dynamic IoT network environment using unreliable servers.

Non-alcholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a disorder characterized by excessive accumulation of lipids in the liver without alcohol consumption. It is considered to be exacerbated from simple steatosis to fibrosis by many factors including oxidative stress, lipotoxicity, and insulin resistance. Phlomis umbrosa TURCZ. (PU) was proved their biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-osteoporosis. However, the mechanism and effect on hepatic steatosis has not been elucidated. The aim of this study is that investigated the potential of water extracts of PU (PUW) to modulate lipid accumulation and oxidative stress in NAFLD. The antioxidant activities of the PUW was measured by total phenolic compounds, flavonoid contents, DPPH, and ABTS radical scavenging activities. As a result of examining the degree of lipid accumulation in HepG2 cells induced by free fatty acids through AdipoRed, the PUW treatment group showed a significant decrease. It is thought that PUW may improve NAFLD by increasing antioxidant activity and reducing lipid accumulation.

Purpose: The safety and efficacy of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in elderly patients is a matterof concern because morbidity and clinical risk are higher in elderly patients; and some cliniciansrecommend non-surgical supportive treatments. There is limited data reported in the literature forLC in super-elderly individuals (aged ≥ 80 years). This study compared the clinical outcome for theelderly and super-elderly patients undergoing LC. Methods: Patients who had a cholecystectomy for acute or chronic cholecystitis, and empyema ofthe gall bladder between January 2011 and June 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. The clinicaloutcomes of the super-elderly patients (≥ 80 years, Group 2) were compared with elderly patients(65-79 years, Group 1). Complications, conversion rate, postoperative hospital stays were assessed. Results: The conversion rate was 5.5% and 8.4% in Groups 1 and 2, respectively (p = 0.749). Thesurgical or medical complication rates were similar in both groups. A significant difference inoperation time was observed between groups (p < 0.001). Although the super-elderly patients hadlonger postoperative hospital stays (7.10 ± 6.98) than the elderly patients (4.60 ± 6.06), there was nosignificant difference with between the 2 groups (p = 1.000). Conclusion: The clinical outcomes of the conversion rate, complications, and mortality were similarin patients aged 65 to 79 years and ≥ 80 years. Therefore, LC is deemed to be a safe and simpleprocedure for the super-elderly.

As the social environment gets increasingly complicated, the population of people with congenital or acquired disabilities increases. Against this backdrop, there is a critical need to expand the use of assistive devices and find effective measures that can support the disabled to perform activities. Assistive devices are usually used in the context of mutual relations between disabled people and non-disabled people who help the disabled perform activities, such as family members, activity assistants and nursing teachers. Thus, designers should understand the contextual environment where devices are used, to provide satisfactory experiences for all users, not only those with disabilities but also those without. The purpose of this study is to examine the user environment for assistive devices for children with physical disabilities (hereinafter referred to as disabled children), the age group that accounts for a significant portion of the disabled population, through the ‘double-diamond’ model for service design, to explore the needs of potential users and to incorporate the results in the engineering of products. Through observational methods, the study found that assistive devices should be designed taking into account the needs of not just disabled children but also non-disabled people who directly interact with the children. It also found that product design should be able to provide multilateral utility and alternative usability depending on the characters of physical activities of disabled children. Through the study, a product reflecting such needs was designed and built into a mock-up and an assessment was implemented based on the rubric criteria.
Identification of the Phenalamide Biosynthetic Gene Cluster in Myxococcus stipitatus DSM 14675
( Suhyun Park ),( Hyesook Hyun ),( Jong Suk Lee ),( Kyungyun Cho ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2016 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.26 No.9
Phenalamide is a bioactive secondary metabolite produced by Myxococcus stipitatus. We identified a 56 kb phenalamide biosynthetic gene cluster from M. stipitatus DSM 14675 by genomic sequence analysis and mutational analysis. The cluster is comprised of 12 genes (MYSTI_04318- MYSTI_04329) encoding three pyruvate dehydrogenase subunits, eight polyketide synthase modules, a non-ribosomal peptide synthase module, a hypothetical protein, and a putative flavin adenine dinucleotide-binding protein. Disruption of the MYSTI_04324 or MYSTI_04325 genes by plasmid insertion resulted in a defect in phenalamide production. The organization of the phenalamide biosynthetic modules encoded by the fifth to tenth genes (MYSTI_04320- MYSTI_04325) was very similar to that of the myxalamid biosynthetic gene cluster from Stigmatella aurantiaca Sg a15, as expected from similar backbone structures of the two substances. However, the loading module and the first extension module of the phenalamide synthase encoded by the first to fourth genes (MYSTI_04326-MYSTI_04329) were found only in the phenalamide biosynthetic gene cluster from M. stipitatus DSM 14675.
