        Preparation of CueAg coreeshell particles with their anti-oxidation and antibacterial properties

        CueAg coreeshell particles were fabricated from Cu particles and silver sulphate with the environmental-friendly TA (tartaric acid, C4H6O6) as reducing and chelating agent in an aqueous system. The influences of [TA]/[Ag] and [Ag]/[Cu] molar ratios on the formation of Ag coatings on the Cu particles were investigated. The SEM images and SEMeEDS analyses showed that [TA]/[Ag] = 0.5 and [Ag]/[Cu]≥0.2, the Cu particles were coated with uniform Ag nanoparticles. XRD analyses revealed that for these CueAg particles heated at 250 ℃, the oxidation of Cu was significantly reduced. Both anti-Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive) and anti-Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) characteristics of this CueAg composite particles showed satisfactory antibacterial ability. The characteristics of the composite CueAg particles were discussed in detail.

        Blockchain for Bounded-Error-Pruned Content Protection

        IoT content usually comes from power-constrained sensors and requires applying different levels of protection. We design a bounded-error-pruned IoT content market (BIoTCM) framework with preserving privacy protection (BEPDPP) scheme using blockchain smart contract. According to payment level applied in smart contract of BIoTCM, our BEPDPP will prune original data within a given level of bounded-error to provide different resolutions of content for consumers. As the real data is intrinsically hidden, content protection is provided with privacy-preserving. Experimental results generated by five different types of IoT content demonstrate that our content protection solution is cost-effective in sensor lifetime.

        독거노인 지원 개선을 위한 서비스 디자인 제안

        우리나라는 이미 2000년에 고령화사회에 접어 들었고 2026년에는 초고령사회로 접어들 것으로 예상된다. 늘어나는 노인의 수 만큼이나 독거노인과 그 문제가 심각해지고 있지만 그에 대한 지원 및 관리는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 해소하기 위해 독거노인의 증가에 따라 발생되는 문제를 알아보고 그 해결방안으로 봉사와 기부에 상대적으로 호의적인 청년(학생)층을 유입할 수 있는 서비스 디자인을 제안한다. 연구방법으로는 관찰조사를 통하여 독거노인, 청년(학생), 어르신 돌봄 센터와 같은 이해관계자를 도출하고, 설문조사 및 심층 인터뷰 통하여 각 이해 관계자 간에 발생하는 문제점을 발견하였다. 문제점을 해소하기 위해 크게 `봉사하기`, `기부하기` 기능으로 나누어 신청단계를 간소화하였다. 또한 시간기부인 봉사를 통해 획득한 `베리` 포인트는 물질적으로 지정기부를 할 수 있도록 기획하였다. 이와 같은 기능들을 모바일앱 프로토타입으로 제작 하였고 1차, 2차에 걸친 사용성 테스트를 진행했다. 결과적으로 본 연구가 독거노인 문제 해소와 청년들을 대상으로 한 새로운 기부문화 창출에 기여할 것으로 기대한다. Korea already became a fast aging society in 2000 and there is a forecast of becoming a super-aged society by 2026. As the number of the aged increases, the issue related with the increasing number of elderly people living alone and aging society is becoming more serious but there is an insufficiency in supporting senior citizens and managing the situation. The purpose of this study is to identify problems occurred by the increasing number of elderly people living alone to obtain a solution for the problems and suggest a service design to attract young people in their 20s, who is more likely to favor voluntary service and donation for solution. For a study method, an observational study was conducted with selecting people who are engaged in senior care center, students in their 20s, and elderly people living alone and conducting questionnaire and in-depth interview with them and the problems occurred among those interested parties. The application steps were being simplified by dividing them into major categories, `performing voluntary service` and `donating`, to solve the problems. Also, `berry` points obtained by a voluntary service, which is an essentially time-donating, is available for designated financial donation. Those functions were manufactured as a mobile application prototype and first and second usability tests were conducted. As a result, it is expected that this study will contribute to creation of new donation culture with students in their 20s and solution for elderly people living alone.

        정보시각화에서 시각적 장식 요소의 유무(有無)가 수용자 유형별 정보처리에 미치는 영향

        정보 디자인 분야에서 오랜 논쟁이 된 시각적 장식의 필요성에 대한 연구는 대립된 의견을 보인다. 정보 시각화 분야의 이론가 Tufte(1983)는 시각적 장식이 없는 무(無)유형을 강조해왔으며, 정보 그래픽 디자이너 Holmes (1984)는 시각적 장식이 있는 유(有)유형을 강조했다. 학계에서는 위의 주장에 대한 검증을 활발히 진행하였으나, 일관되지 않은 결과들이 나타났다. 최근에는 수신자의 특성을 고려하여 두 유형 중 효과적인 유형을 찾는다. 본 연구에서는 수신자의 감정적 요소와 인지적 요소에 따라 정보처리 유형을 구분하고, 유형별 시각적 장식의 효과를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 인지적 정보 처리자는 시각적 장식이 없는 Tufte 유형이 신뢰도, 유용성, 선호도에 효과적이었다. 반면, 수동적 정보 처리자는 시각적 장식이 있는 Holmes 유형이 정보의 신뢰도, 유용성, 선호도에 효과적이었다. 또한, 감정적 정보 처리자와 복합적 정보 처리자는 Holmes 유형이 정보의 유용성, 선호도에 효과적이었다. 반면, 신뢰도에서는 Holmes 유형의 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 수신자의 정보처리 유형에 따라 다른 시각적 장식이 요구됨을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과가 앞으로 정보 디자인 분야에서 기획 및 제작시 효과적인 전략으로 활용되길 기대한다. The study about necessity of visual embellishments which has been a controversial issue for a long time shows divided opinions. Theorist of information visualization Tufte(1983) emphasized the type without visual embellishment, and information graffic designer Holmes(1984) emphasized the type with visual embellishment. Accordingly, brisk verification has been progressed at the academic world, but it came to inconsistent results. Recently, individuality of receiver is considered at middle of the progress of selection between the two types. In this research, the type of conducting information was classified according to the emotional and cognitional factor of receiver, and the effect of visual embellishment of each type was also analyzed. As a result, `Tufte` type, which is a type without visual embellishment, was effective in confidence, utility, preference for cognitional information conducter. On the other hand, `Holmes` type, which is the type without visual embellishment was effective in confidence, utility, preference for passive information conducter. Also, `Holmes` type was effective in utility and preference for both emotional and complex information conducter, but it was not effective in confidence for both of those. These results suggest the fact that various types of visual embellishment will be required according to the type of information conduction of receiver. The result of this research can be utilized as an effective strategy at planning in information creating area.

      • Wafer-scale synthesis of monolayer two-dimensional porphyrin polymers for hybrid superlattices

        <P><B>Single-layer porphyrin polymerization</B></P><P>Two-dimensional polymers can be made as monolayer sheets through controlled synthesis at an interface. However, it is often difficult to create intact sheets over large areas that can be transferred onto substrates. Zhong <I>et al.</I> polymerized derivatized porphyrin molecules during laminar flow at a sharp pentane-water interface to form sheets that are 5 centimeters in diameter (see the Perspective by MacLean and Rosei). The authors used electron microscopy and spectroscopy to confirm that they had produced intact monolayers. These films were then transferred onto monolayer sheets of molybdenum disulfide to form superlattices for use as capacitors.</P><P><I>Science</I>, this issue p. 1379; see also p. 1308</P><P>The large-scale synthesis of high-quality thin films with extensive tunability derived from molecular building blocks will advance the development of artificial solids with designed functionalities. We report the synthesis of two-dimensional (2D) porphyrin polymer films with wafer-scale homogeneity in the ultimate limit of monolayer thickness by growing films at a sharp pentane/water interface, which allows the fabrication of their hybrid superlattices. Laminar assembly polymerization of porphyrin monomers could form monolayers of metal-organic frameworks with Cu<SUP>2+</SUP> linkers or covalent organic frameworks with terephthalaldehyde linkers. Both the lattice structures and optical properties of these 2D films were directly controlled by the molecular monomers and polymerization chemistries. The 2D polymers were used to fabricate arrays of hybrid superlattices with molybdenum disulfide that could be used in electrical capacitors.</P>

      • Resonance analysis of cantilever porous graphene platelet reinforced pipe under external load

        Nowadays, there is a high demand for great structural implementation and multifunctionality with excellent mechanical properties. The porous structures reinforced by graphene platelets (GPLs) having valuable properties, such as heat resistance, lightweight, and excellent energy absorption, have been considerably used in different engineering implementations. However, stiffness of porous structures reduces significantly, due to the internal cavities, by adding GPLs into porous medium, effective mechanical properties of the porous structure considerably enhance. This paper is relating to vibration analysis of fluidconveying cantilever porous graphene platelet reinforced (GPLR) pipe with fractional viscoelastic model resting on foundations. A dynamical model of cantilever porous GPLR pipes conveying fluid and resting on a foundation is proposed, and the vibration, natural frequencies and primary resonant of such a system are explored. The pipe body is considered to be composed of GPLR viscoelastic polymeric pipe with porosity in which Halpin-Tsai scheme in conjunction with the fractional viscoelastic model is used to govern the construction relation of nanocomposite pipe. Three different porosity distributions through the pipe thickness are introduced. The harmonic concentrated force is also applied to the pipe and the excitation frequency is close to the first natural frequency. The governing equation for transverse motions of the pipe is derived by the Hamilton principle and then discretized by the Galerkin procedure. In order to obtain the frequency-response equation, the differential equation is solved with the assumption of small displacement, damping coefficient, and excitation amplitude by the multiple scale method. A parametric sensitivity analysis is carried out to reveal the influence of different parameters, such as nanocomposite pipe properties, fluid velocity and nonlinear viscoelastic foundation coefficients, on the primary resonance and linear natural frequency. Results indicate that the GPLs weight fraction porosity coefficient, fractional derivative order and the retardation time have substantial influences on the dynamic response of the system.
