        주의력결핍-과잉행동장애를 동반한 알코올 의존환자들의 특성 : 임상적/유전학적 자료분석

        Objectives : This study was conducted to estimate the comorbidity rate of ADHD in a group of patients with alcohol dependency and to find out the characteristics of alcoholic patients with ADHD using the diverse clinical and genetic variables. Methods : Eighty five patients with alcohol dependency were recruited from 4 mental hospitals in Kyoung-Nam and Kyoung-Ki province. For the evaluation of ADHD symptoms in both childhood and adulthood, the highly structured Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children-IV (DISC-FV)-ADHD module was used. The various standardized scales and questionnaires were also applied to evaluate the comorbid conditions and psychopathological status. All the subjects' blood was collected and genetic study for the polymorphism of DRD2, TH, 5-HTTLPR, COMT, ALDH2 was performed. Results : 1) The comorbid rate of definite ADHD in alcoholic patients was 38% (28/85). 2) The frequency of unmarried status was significantly higher in ADHD group compared non-ADHD group. 3) The onset of pathologic drinking and auditory hallucination was significantly earlier in ADHD group than non-ADHD alcholic group. 4) In ADHD alcoholic group, antisocial behavior was more frequently reported, and the score of co-dependency scale, depression/anxiety, aggression and obsessive compulsive drinking scales were significantly higher compared to non-ADHD alcoholic group. 5) No signficant difference was found in the frequency of polymorphic alleles in COMT, DRD2, 5-HTTLPR, ALDH2, TH between ADHD and non-ADHD alcoholic group. Conclusion : In alcoholic patients, the rate of adult type ADHD was higher than expected rate in general population. The alcoholic patients with ADHD suffered from more sever degree of alcohol dependency and earlier alcohol related problems. ADHD-alcoholic group showed higher diverse comorbid psychopathology and lower marital status compared to non-ADHD-alcoholic group. No difference, however, was found in genetic data between two groups.

        硏究者의 時間壓迫感에 따른 情報探索行態에 관한 硏究

        본 연구의 목적은 연구기관에 소속된 전임연구자들이 자신의 연구를 수행하는 과정에서 받는 시간압박감의 정도에 따라 정보탐색행태에 특징적 차이를 나타내는지를 밝히고자 한 것이다. 결론을 요약하면, 연구자들은 연구에서 받는 시간압박감의 정도에 따라 정보검색시스템의 효율성중에서 정확성, 재현성, 다양성에 대하여 중요시하는 정도에 차이를 나타내고 있으며, 주요 이용자료중에서는 학술지, 단행본, 연구보고서에서 차이를 나타내고 있다. 정보원의 유형에서는 기록정보원과 인간정보원 모두에서 중요시하는 정도에 차이를 나타내고 있다. 한편, 연구자들은 연구수행과정에서 받는 시간압박감에 따라 자료수집사용시간, 탐색전략수립시간, 정보탐색정도에서도 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다 The main purpose of this study is to find the difference of information searching behaviors consist of information pursuit cognition and searching character by time pressure of researchers. The major findings and result by time pressure of researchers are summarized as follows: In terms of information retrieval systems, according to the time pressure, there is a significant difference in recall, precision and diversity. In terms of main used material, there is a significant difference in a book, a research report, and a journal. In terms of resource types, there is a significant difference in both record and human resource. Also in terms of searching behaviors, there is a difference to spend time for information collection and information searching strategy, and to decide information searching method and degree of searching

        야뇨증 환아들의 심리사회적 특성에 대한 다기관 연구 : 행동 및 정서 문제를 중심으로

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.

        제주도 성산항내 부틸주석화합물의 분포와 생물체에 미치는 영향

        Butyltin compounds (BTs) in seawater, sediments and organisms (Thais clavigera, Liolophura japonica and Cellana nigrolineata), were quantitatively determined to evaluate their distribution inside Songsan Harbor of Cheju Island. In addition, imposex in T. clavigera was used to assess the effect on organisms of BTs. Analysis of the samples collected in seawater, sediments (March, June and August) and organisms (May, July and August) in 1998, confirmed the contamination of BTs in the aquatic environment inside Songsan Harbor. The main BTs species in seawater and sediments was monobutyltin (MBT), tributyltin (TBT), respectively, irrespective of survey time. In organisms, TBT and dibutyltin (DBT) were detected in similar concentrations for T. clavigera and L. japonica, but for C. nigrolineata, DBT concentration was the highest. TBT, the most toxic to aquatic organisms among BTs, was found at concentrations which were sufficient to have a serious effect on the sensitive organisms upon chronic exposure. The relatively high correlations (r>0.83) between BTs indicated that DBT and MBT were mainly degraded from TBT based on antifouling paint and their sources were negligible. The sedimentary organic matters did not have influence on the distribution of BTs in marine environment, and lipid content in T. clavigera did not show a correlation with TBT concentrations. The rate of occurrence of imposex in T. clavigera was 100 %, and the relative penis length index (RPLI) and the relative penis size index (RPSI) which represent the degree of imposex were 79.7%, 58.1%, respectively. Measurement of imposex in T. clavigera was expected to be a very helpful tool for preliminary survey of BTs prior to trace analysis of BTs.

        Monolithically Integrated Tunable Laser Using Double-Ring Resonators With a Tilted Multimode Interference Coupler

        <P>A monolithically integrated tunable semiconductor ring laser consisting of a semiconductor optical amplifier and two ring resonators with tilted multimode interference (MMI) couplers is presented. The characteristic response of the ring resonators is discussed for various cross coupling strengths by adjusting the angle of the tilted MMI couplers. The ring laser has a wavelength tuning range of 11 nm and a sidemode suppression ratio larger than 40 dB for a cross coupling strength of 0.09. The peak power of the laser is larger than -3 dBm for chip-to-fiber coupling.</P>

        Pharmacological Characterization of Synthetic Tetrahydroisoquinoline Alkaloids, YS 51 and YS 55, on the Cardiovascular System

        <P> Tetrahydroisoquinoline (THI) alkaloids can be considered as cyclized derivatives of simple phenylethylamines, and many of them, especially with 6,7-disubstitution, demonstrate relatively high affinity for catecholamines. Two -OH groups at 6 and 7 positions are supposed to be essential to exert ㄂-receptor activities. However, it is not clear whether -OH at 6,7 substitution of THIs also shows ㄁-adrenoceptor activities. In the present study, we investigated whether -OH or -OCH<SUB>3</SUB> substitutions of 6,7 position of THIs differently affect the ㄁<SUB>1</SUB>-adrenoceptor affinity. We synthesized two 1-naphthylmethyl THI alkaloids, 1-㄂-naphthylmethyl-6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline HBr (YS 51) and 1-㄂-naphthylmethyl-6, 7-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline HCl (YS 55), and their pharmacological actions on ㄁<SUB>1</SUB>-adrenoceptor were compared. YS 51 and YS 55, concentration-dependently relaxed endothelium-denuded rat thoracic aorta precontracted with phenylephrine (PE, 0.1 ㄍM) in which pEC<SUB>50</SUB> were 5.89⁢0.21 and 5.93⁢0.19, respectively. Propranolol (30 nM) did not affect the relaxation-response curves to YS 51 and YS 55. Concentration-response curves to PE were shifted to right by the pretreatment with YS 51 or YS 55. The pA<SUB>2</SUB> values of YS 51 and YS 55 showed 6.05⁢0.24 and 5.88⁢0.16, respectively. Both probes relaxed KCl (65.4 mM)-contracted aorta and inhibited CaCl<SUB>2</SUB>-induced contraction of PE-stimulated endothelium- denuded rat thoracic aorta in Ca<SUP>2⁢</SUP>-free solutions. In isolated guinea pig papillary muscle, 1 and 10 ㄍM YS 51 increased contractile force about 4- and 8- fold over the control, respectively, along with the concentration-dependent increment of cytosolic Ca<SUP>2⁢</SUP> ions. While, 10 ㄍM YS 55 reduced the contractile force about 50 % over the control and lowered the cytosolic Ca<SUP>2⁢</SUP> level, in rat brain homogenates, YS 51 and YS 55 displaced [<SUP>3</SUP>H]prazosin binding competitively with K<I>i</I> 0.15 and 0.12 ㄍM, respectively. However, both probes were ineffective on [<SUP>3</SUP>H]nitrendipine binding. Therefore, it is concluded that two synthetic naphthylmethyl-THI alkaloids have considerable affinity to ㄁<SUB>1</SUB>-adrenenoceptors in rat aorta and brain.

        Another Evidence for Nitric Oxide as Mediator of Relaxation of Isolated Rabbit and Human Corpus Cavernosum

        To prove the hypothesis that NO- and NO₂-carrying molecules potentiate photorelaxation by generating NO, investigation was carried out using isolated rabbit and human corpus cavernosum. Corporal smooth muscle, in the presence or absence of endothelium, relaxed only slightly upon ultraviolet light (366 nm) irradiation. But, NO-and/or NO₂-containing compounds such as streptozotocin and N^G-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester significantly (p<0.01) enhanced photorelaxation in this tissue. In addition, N^G-nitro-D-arginine methyl ester, known to lack inhibitory action on NO synthase, showed concentration-dependent potentiation of the photorelaxation. Oxygen radical generating system via copper+ascorbic acid and guanylate cyclase inhibitor, methylene blue, significantly (p<0.05) inbibited the streptozotocin-potentiated photorelaxation. Nitrite was accumulated by photolysis of streptozotocin, N^G-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester and N^G-nitro-D-arginine methyl ester, in a concentration and exposure time dependent manner. These observations indicate that NO is a potent relaxant of rabbit and human corpus cavernosum and further support the hypothesis that NO is released by photolysis from NO- and NO₂-carrying molecules.
