        A New Sesame Variety, “Kangbaek” with Disease Resistance, Lodging Tolerence and High Yield

        A new sesame variety Kangbaek was developed from Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute in 2004. Cros wasmade by lodging resistant SP9003-3 line to the F1with high yielding capacity, folowed by pedigree selection, yield test and RYT by the sesame breeding team at the National Insti-tute of Crop Science up to 2003. The variety showed higher disease resistance, especially phytophothra disease, and lodging resis-respectively. It's 1000 grains weight was about 2.54 g indicating 0.03 g heavier than that of Yangbaekkae, and it's oil content wasabout 52%. Kangbaek also contained total 7.65mg/g of such lignans as sesamin and sesamolin. The average yield of Kang-baek was 82 kg per 10a at the national-wide regional performance.

      • Investigation of the April 2000 forest fire damage in Kang-won Province, Korea, using RADARSAT data

        The series of forest Fires in Kangwon Province in April, 2000, were one of the mast serious ones in the Kang-won Province in recent years. The fire damaged areas are extensive and this paper investigates the utility of the satellite image data, particularly the RADARSAT SAR data. One of the main objectives of this study included evaluation of potential usefulness of the C-band RADARSAT data in the detection of forest fires in mountainous areas. Among several fire damaged sites, the area near Samchuk (city) was selected as the main study area and mufti-temporal RADARSAT(raw) data were acquired and the processed results were comparatively investigated with the IRS-1c data acquired shortly after the fire. To identify the burnt area from the undamaged background in the optical imagery, supervised classification and NDVI processing were carried out and tested with the IRS-1C data. For this experiment, several sets of raw RADARSAT standard and Fine mode (S4, F3, ascending orbit) data were processed and the final image was formed. In addition to the final image, sigma nought (σ°) was catnputed and compared for the burnt area against the undamaged areas. Because of the steep slopes in the study area and subsequent deviation from the flat surface scattering models, the fire scars in the sigma nought (σ°) image were not apparent. However, fire scars are slightly detected in the difference and ratio images obtained from the signal intensity data acquired at different dates (bath before and after fire). Texture analysis of the image data including the burnt areas were carried out using the Multiplicative Markov Random-Field (MMRF) algorithm. The detection of the fire damaged area from both standard mode and fine mode RADARSAT was not as straightforward as in optical data. However, Previous studies with ERS-1 S_AR and RADARSAT data in Indonesia and in the North American Plains indicate that C-band SAR data provide us with an effective tool for studying the forest fire damages. However, the application of C-band SAR data to the analysis of the forest fire areas requires careful processing of the data with realistic scattering models.

        피로와 의료이용, 업무상 사고 및 질병결근

        Objectives: This study examined the relationship of fatigue to medical utilization, occupational accident and sickness absence. Subjects and Methods: Data were obtained from the National Study for Development and Standardization of Occupational Stress (NSDSOS Project, 2002~2004). A total of 30,146 employees categorized within the Korean Standard Industrial Classification and the Korean Standard Occupational Classification were recruited. A structured-questionnaire was used to assess the participants' sociodemo-graphics, job-related factors, health-related behaviors, personality trait, self=perceived fatigue (MFS) and the frequency of medical utilization, occupational accident and sickness absence. Data on medical utilization and occupational accident were confirmed from company health records. Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were used to elucidate the relationship of self-perceived fatigue to medical utilization, occupational accident and sickness absence. Results: In logistic regression analyses, self-perceived fatigue was associated with medical utilization (outpatient), occupational accident and sickness absence although the strength of the associations was higher in the blue collar workers except for medical utilization. For medical utilization, the white collar worker's adjusted odds ratios of outpatient utilization for workers scoring in the third quartile and the highest quartile, compared to workers scoring in the lowest quartile were 1.50 (95% CI: 1.20-1.87) and 2.16 (95% CI: 1.69-2.75), respectively. The blue collar workers' adjusted odds ratios of outpatient utilization for workers scoring in the second (OR: 1.23, 95% CI: 1.06-1.43), third (OR: 1.42, 95% CI: 1.22-1.66) and highest quartile (OR:1.83, 95% CI: 1.55-2.17), respectively, compared to workers scoring in the lowest quartile were statistically significant. However, no associations were found between fatigue and inpatient utilization for either the white or blue collar workers. The blue collar workers' adjusted odds ratios of being injured for workers scoring in the second, third and highest quartile were 1.41 (95% CI: 1.00-2.00), 1.57 (95% CI: 1.10-2.22) and 2.41 (95% CI: 1.69-3.44), respectively, compared to those scoring in the lowest quartile, but, those of the white collar workers were not significant. There was more likely to an increased risk of sickness absence in workers scoring in the second, third and highest quartile compared to those scoring in the lowest quartile in both white and blue collar workers, but the magnitudes of risk were higher in the blue collar workers than the white collars workers. Conclusion: This result suggests that fatigue is a determinant predictor of medical utilization, occupational accident and sickness absence, and that the pattern of risks for the three outcomes differs according to the occupational type. Some limitations of this study and considerations for future study were also discussed.

        사범대학 영어 강의에 대한 학생들의 인식 및 만족도 조사

        이 연구는 교사교육의 국제화를 지향하는 사범대학 특성화 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 조사 차원에서 2007학년도 1학기에 146명의 사범대학 학생들을 대상으로 전공 영어 강의에 대한 인식과 만족도 등에 대해 설문조사의 방법으로 이루어졌다. 학생들의 영어 능력에 대한 자기 평가 결과, 대부분의 학생들이 자신의 영어 능력이 영어 강의 수강에 부족하고, 영어 강의에 대한 심리적 부담이 크다는 반응을 나타냈다. 또 영어 강의가 한국어 강의에 비해 전공 지식을 쌓는 데 도움이 되었다는 반응은 이공계를 중심으로 한 기존의 연구 결과보다 상대적으로 낮게 나타나는데, 이는 사범대학 영어 강의의 운영과 관련하여 좀 더 다양하고도 효과적인 방안이 고려되어야 함을 시사한다. 영어 강의 수강 시 어려움을 묻는 질문에서 과제 발표하기, 질문하기, 보고서 작성하기의 순으로 어려움을 호소하고 있는데, 이 역시 영어 강의를 위해서는 전반적인 영어 표현 및 이해 능력 향상 이 전제되어야 하며 무엇보다도 말하기, 듣기의 구어 능력 신장이 우선되어야 함을 재확인해 준다. 영어 강의 개선안에 대한 의견으로는 평가 방법의 다양성 및 융통성 확대, 영어 강의 수강을 돕는 전공 교재의 개발, 영어 강의 내에서의 교수-학생 상호 작용 증대, 국제교류의 기회 확대 등의 순으로 높은 반응을 보였다. 이는 향후 사범대학 영어 강의와 관련한 프로그램 개발에 시사하는 바가 크다. 즉, 영어 강의 평가를 결과 중심의 평가뿐만 아니라 과정평가와 수행평가에 초점을 두고, 영어 표현이 어려운 복잡한 사고 과정이 요구되는 경우 제한적으로 국문 반응을 허용하는 방안도 고려할 만하다. 또한 학습자들에게 좀 더 상세화된 강의 교재를 제공하고, 온·오프라인을 모두 활용하여 교수와 학생의 상호작용을 활성화할 수 있는 방안을 적극적으로 탐색할 필요가 있다. 아울러 학생들이 실질적인 국제교류가 가능하도록 다양한 교류 방안 함께 구체적인 강좌 개설도 요구된다.

        In the 21th century. everyone feels that the multimedia system is close at hand in real life due to the rapid advance of the computer processing ability and high speed and high quality of communication services. Also the limited frequencies resource will be optimized due to rapid advances in digital video technology which is believed superior to analogue technology in information engineering. MEPG-2 has been introduced for broadcasting use such as digital TV Thus it features the high-definition and hyper-low bit rate. But. because of much throughput it has been implemented by high-priced private ASIC chip and is not in general use yet. But in this research. noticing the rapid enhancement of PC processor performance comparing with the price. MPEG-2 was developed by real time software MPEG-2 had been known impossible to implement with S/W. but the research proved the possibility of the S/W implementation and below are the pictures also in the research was improved Motion Vector and Compensation Algorithm which requires the most operations and DCT was made possible real time process. Multimedia Info Society has settled and accompanied by the rapid advance of image-processing technology and lots of standards.

        This paper researched the scale of subjective speech quality measurement over VoIP(Voice over IP) service which is a component of broadband networks. Though objective parameters of multimedia services like PSNR or Jitter can be easily measured and defined, those factors are not easily met the users' perceptual recognition. It is suggested that the scale of speech quality measurement through the subjective measurement is more adequate for end-to-end speech quality which is composed of sender-side quality, transmission quality, receiver-side quality, which provides the degree of correctness in speakers' representation, the degree of impairment caused by various factors, and the degree of recognition processed speech, respectively. It's also examined by the proposed method and verified by it's availability.

      • 내시경적 점막절제술로 치험한 식도 과립상 세포종 1례

        과립상 세포종은 Schwann 세포 기원으로 생각되며 인체에 비교적 드물게 발생한다. 과립상 세포종은 전신 어느 곳에서나 발견될 수 있으나 주로 혀, 구강, 피부 혹은 유방 등에서 호발하며 드물게 위장관에서 발견된다. 위장관에서는 식도에서 가장 호발하며 다음으로 위, 대장 순이다. 과립상 세포종은 대부분, 특히 위장관에서는 양성이며 소수의 악성 병변이 보고되었다. 이러한 이유와 함께 수술 전의 진단이 어렵기 때문에 과립상 세포종에 대한 근본적인 치료는 현재까지 외과적 절제술이다. 최근에 시도되는 치료방법들로는 내시경적 레이저 치료, 용종절제술, 내시경적 점막 절제술 등이 있다. 저자들은 상부 소화관 내시경검사를 시행하여 식도 과립상 세포종을 진단하고 내시경적 점막 절제술을 시행하여 합병증 없이 퇴원하여 현재 재발없이 경과 관찰중인 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Granular cell tumors, which occur infrequently, are probably of Schwann cell origin. They can occur almost anywhere in the body but usually affect the tongue, oral cavity, skin, or breasts and are rarely found in the gastrointestinal tracts. The esophagus is the most frequent gastrointestinal site, followed by the stomach and the colon. Granular cell tumors are generally benign, especially in the gastrointestinal tract, some malignant lesions have been reported. For this reason, and also because preoperative diagnosis is difficult, the standard treatment for granular cell tumor has until now been surgical excision. In recent years, other therapeutic methods is endoscopic laser therapy (ELT), polypectiomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). We report a case of esophageal granular cell tumor which was diagnosed by an endoscopy and managed using an endoscopic mucosal resection without complication.

        『올란도』 : 경계 허물기

        Regardless of its flexibility or rigidity, Orlando resists any form of fixed categories. This unbounded text attempts to unsettle not only liner narrative but also any systematic narrative discourse without establishing a new authoritative literary form. We can notice contradiction in the discursive construction of Orlando's sexuality. Orlando is in the place of fissure among different levels of discourses. We cannot know and define the entity of Orlando, for there is no such definite entity. It is against logic, certainty and the desire to dominate, and ignores the usual distinctions between the mainstream and the marginal. Orlando cannot be judged in positive terms. When it was published, it was problematic whether it should be placed in the biography section or the fiction section in the shelf. Orlando is a work that questions the heritage of homogeneous literary tradition and violates fixed boundaries: it is neither a consistent fantasy of cultural annihilation nor a full-scale novel which seriously inquires into the essence of life. It is neither a mere biography of a person's life nor a sincere meta-biography which deals with the matter of writing biography. If readers search for a positive answer about Orlando's identity and his/her/its role in a particular genre, they necessarily face a dilemma. Orlando problematizes the effects of reading and destablizes the conventional practices of reading.

      • Dock Wall에서 Pre-splitting 발파의 적용성에 관한 연구

        The contour blasting minimize the strain and the rocks are destroyed to the theoretical projected line by adding or substracting the explosive compound amounts. On pre-splitting blasting, the most important factors are the base rock conditions, accuracy of drilling, kind of explosive compound used, and charge. The first test blast is classified in eight groups, which is done to find more accurate blasting conditions after a variety of blasting methods are used. Through the conditions of charge of the first test blast, after the best blast method is selected the second test blast is performed. The number of holes and hole spacing are corrected on the second test blast, which takes change to reduce construction days and working conditions. In the second test blast charge conditions. Pattern Y is the method for see a cutting plane of 90˚ for the reducing of dock-wall parts.
