In this report, we present a case of the male pseudohermaphrodite in a beagle dog. The animal was subjected for examination due to enlargement of clitoris that was shown as reddish finger-like structure protruding from the vulva. Visual examination of the internal genitalia revealed that the animal possessed both testes and uterus. Based on the findings of physical examination and exploratory laparotomy, it was tentatively diagnosed as male pseudohermaphrodite. Internal genitalia and enlarged clitoris were removed for the prevention of pyometra and Sertoli cell tumor.

The prevalence of PPNG among pretreated gonorrhea cases isolated at the STD clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul has been studied and reported annually since 1981. In 1991, 123 strains of N.gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 58(47.1%) were PPNG. In 1992, 98 starains of N.gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 51(52.0%) were PPNG. In all, 109(49.3%) strains were found to be PPNG among 221 strains isolated between 1991-1992. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul showed increased tendency till 1989, thereafter, it has been stationary or slightly decreasing.

Steroid cell tumor is a rare ovarian sex cord-stromal tumor which accounts for 0.1% of all ovarian tumors. Until now, only 4 cases have been reported in domestic literatures. Steroid cell tumor often secrets testosterone and presents virilization in adult women or precocious puberty in children. Treatment is often performed by surgical removal, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation, but completely accepted treatment was not existed. We experienced a case of steroid cell tumor, which was manifested by typical virilization in a 43-year old patient, who was previously performed hysterectomy and unilateral oophorectomy. So, we present with a brief review of the literatures.

A 12-year-old, female miniature pinscher dog with history of fever and vaginal discharge 3 days ago was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. A diagnosis of pyometra was made by survey of abdominal radiographs and ultrasonography. The uterus appeared as convoluted and tubular appearance filled with anechoic to hypoechoic fluid. Ovariohysterectomy was the choice of cervical patency. Medical therapy for pyometra may be appropriate in bitches that were of breeding age and that were not systemically ill. The surgery was fine. After 1 week, the dog was getting better.

The singing voice of children is normally soft, thin, clear, bright, sweet, flute like, and pleasing. The child voice is incapable of singing genuinely loud or portraying great emotion as the adult, hence music which demands such expression is unsuited to it. It is about eaqual in range and quality to the soprano voice of a woman except that the child voice is less full, less rich, and less powerful. If we compel a child to sing loudly, it will ruin not only it's sensible vocal cords but also impossible for us to expect correct pitch. We should understand that a child's voice contains definit characteristics and limitation in his expressive ability. I present some important principles in protecting and developing the child's soft but beautiful voice. 1. The child's vocalism should be sung with the head-quality suitable for the soft child's vocal cords. 2. The child's vocalism should lay stress upon the voice-quality than voice volume. 3. In the beginning the child's vocalism should be trained by descending scale which develops the head-quality but restrains the chest-quality. 4. The child's vocalism should be avoided lower tones than ?? 5. In the beginning of practising vocalism of head-voice, vowels u and O are most profitable. 6. 오이 連作土壤의 微生物相에 미치는 珪酸의 影響을 檢討하기 위해 連作土壤에 湛水處理와 珪酸을 施用하여 土壤의 化學的 變化 및 微生物相의 變化 등을 調査分析한 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 供試土壤의 化學性을 보면 모든 土壤이 pH6.3∼6.8로서 오이 生育에 적당한 土壤反應을 보였으며 2年 連作土壤의 EC가 0.88mmho/cm로 監類集積에 의한 障害가 예상된다. 2年 連作土壤에 有效燐酸과 有效珪酸의 含量 및 一般性分의 含量이 많았다. 2. 오이 栽培한 連作土壤의 化學性의 變化는 珪酸施用區가 pH7.0정도였으며 2年 連作土壤의 湛水處理와 珪酸施用區에서는 EC가 0.1∼0.18mmho/cm로 減少했다. 2年 連作土壤의 珪酸400kg/10a施用區에서는 播種後 35日에 有效燐酸이 142ppm 이 되었다. 또한 2年 連作土壤의 珪酸 40kg/10a 施用區에서는 Ca/Mg 2.9 Ca/K5.2 Mg/K 1.7로서 기준치와 유사한 경향이었다. 湛水處理區에서는 Ca/Mg 1.8∼1.6, Ca/K 2∼8, Mg/K 1.5∼1.6으로서 監基의 均衡維持가 요망되며 一般性分이 낮은 경향이므로 施肥面에서 유의해야 할 것 같다. 有效珪酸은 珪酸施用區에서 500ppm以上으로 增加했으며 播種後 60日에 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 3. 放射狀菌은 湛水處理와 珪酸 施用區에서 10??에서 10??으로 增加했으며 Fusarum 屬菌은 10??으로 增加경향이 보이지 않았다. 絲狀菌은 非 連作土壤보다 連作土壤에서 그 數가 10??으로 많고 珪酸 400kg/10a 施用區에서는 增加 경향이 없었다. 한편 細菌은 珪酸施用區에서 10??으로 增加하였다. 4. 非連作土壤의 栽培前의 B/F直은 50이었는데 栽培後 35日에 43.8, 60日에는 42로 낮아지는 경향이며 2年 連作土壤의 珪酸 施用區에서는 26.8에서 35日에는 80으로 60日에는 187로 增加했다. 또 3年 連作土壤의 對照區는 播種後 점차 감소되었다. 亞窒酸化菌은 10??으로 湛水處理에 의해 增加했으며 珪酸 200kg/10a 施用區에서 또한 增加했다. 암모니아 酸化는 10³∼ 10⁴이고 處理間에 뚜렷한 變化가 없었으며 脫窒菌은 10³∼ 10??였으며 播種後 10⁴∼ 10?? 으로 增加했다. An attempt has been made to establish an effective way of eliminating the harmful effects due to continuous cropping of cucumber(cucurbitaceae) in the same soil. Cucumber plants were cultured in pots with silicate fertilizer added in pots water logged before planted. The change of soil chemical properties and the transient change of the number of microflora were determined. From these experiments some of the results obtained are summarized as follows. The harmful effect of nutritional accumulation in soil of vinyl houses can be prevented by water logging because in water logging accumulated chemical components in the soil are leached. As for the changes in the chemical properties of sample soil in silicate treated soil compared to silicate non treated soil available silicate(500-750ppm) and available P₂O??,(140-2 10ppm) increased. In silicate treated soil in 3 year continuous cropping soil the pH is between 6-7 and the EC is lowered and this is suitable for cucumber planting. The number of fungi, actinomycetes and bacteria show a tendency to increase with the elapse of growing days(from 10⁴ to 10?? : 10??-10??, 10??-10??) respectively. In the silicate added soil the number of fusarium and fungi notably decrease . In the 3 year continuous cropping soil the value of B/F (21.2-7.8-21.8) compared to that of 1 year cropping soil (26.8-53.0-26.0)decreased but in the silicate added soil of 2 year continuous cropping soil the value of. B /F( 200kg/10a: 26.8-45.0-88.0, 400kg /l0a: 26.8-80.0-187.0) increased.
