      • Young Generation Target 특화 User Interface Design : LG Lollipop 폰 개발을 통한 1723 세대 특화 UI design 에 대한 사례 연구

        1723 세대인 Young Generation 을 대상으로 한 휴대폰 개발을 목적으로 Target 에 대한 심층적 생활연구를 통해 1723 세대에 소구 할 수 있는 가치 있는 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 3 step 에 거쳐 진행된 생활연구를 통해 얻어진 1723 세대의 핵심 코드 및 휴대폰 UI concept 에 따라 Sensitive UI 와 Practical UI 두 개의 category 를 mobile User Interface Design 을 위한 guideline 으로 제안한다. 첫째, Sensitive UI 의 경우 자신을 표현하고자 하는 욕구가 강하며, 어른세대 및 유소년 세대와 구분되어야 한다는 생각을 만족시킬 수 있도록 외부 LED 를 통한 customized display, secret lighting, 자신의 사진을 활용하여 직접 꾸밀 수 있는 대기 화면 wallpaper 등 Fun 적 요소를 강화한 UI design 을 제안한다. 둘째, Practical UI 의 경우 IT 기기 및 mobile 활용도가 높은 target 층의 특성을 고려하여 강화된 사전기능, 학생시간표 등 사용의 편리함을 추구할 수 있는 기능을 포함한 UI design 을 제안한다. 이러한 일련의 사례연구는 1723 세대인 Young Customer 가 선호하는 New Concept 의 User Interface design 을 가능하게 한다. 뿐만 아니라, 이러한 일련의 연구 과정은 특정 계층을 위한 Mobile UI 를 설계 함으로써 차별화 UI 를 통한 시장 경쟁력을 갖춘 휴대폰의 개발을 가능하게 한다.

        Right Atrial Strain in Preterm Infants With a History of Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

        BACKGROUND: Few studies have utilized right atrial (RA) strain to evaluate right ventricular (RV) diastolic dysfunction in preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). We aimed to evaluate the associations of RA strain with BPD severity and respiratory outcomes in preterm infants with BPD. METHODS: We retrospectively studied 153 infants with BPD born before 32 weeks of gestational age at CHA Bundang Medical Center. Peak longitudinal right atrial strain (PLRAS) was obtained using velocity vector imaging and compared among infants across BPD severity. Conventional echocardiographic parameters and clinical characteristics were also evaluated. RESULTS: In infants with severe BPD, mean gestational age (27.4 ± 2.1 weeks) and mean birth weight (971.3 ± 305.8 g) were significantly smaller than in those with mild BPD (30.0 ± 0.9 weeks, 1,237.3 ± 132.2 g) and moderate BPD (29.6 ± 1.3 weeks, 1,203.2 ± 214.4 g). PLRAS was significantly lower in infants with severe BPD (26.3 ± 10.1%) than in those in the moderate BPD group (32.4 ± 10.9%) or mild BPD group (31.9 ± 8.3%). Tricuspid E/e′ and maximum RA volume index were similar across BPD severity. A decrease in PLRAS was significantly correlated with increased duration of mechanical ventilation duration; however, tricuspid E/e′ and maximum RA volume index were not. CONCLUSIONS: Evaluating PLRAS with other parameters in infants with BPD might detect RV diastolic dysfunction. Longer follow-up and larger study populations may elucidate the association between PLRAS and respiratory outcomes in infants with BPD.

        Diagnostic Accuracy of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Features and Tumor-to-Nipple Distance for the Nipple-Areolar Complex Involvement of Breast Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

        Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the accuracy of preoperative breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features and tumor-to-nipple distance (TND) for diagnosing occult nipple-areolar complex (NAC) involvement in breast cancer. Materials and Methods: The MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane databases were searched for articles published until March 20, 2022, excluding studies of patients with clinically evident NAC involvement or those treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Study quality was assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies 2 tool. Two reviewers independently evaluated studies that reported the diagnostic performance of MRI imaging features such as continuity to the NAC, unilateral NAC enhancement, non-mass enhancement (NME) type, mass size (> 20 mm), and TND. Summary estimates of the sensitivity and specificity curves and the summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve of the MRI features for NAC involvement were calculated using random-effects models. We also calculated the TND cutoffs required to achieve predetermined specificity values. Results: Fifteen studies (n = 4002 breast lesions) were analyzed. The pooled sensitivity and specificity (with 95% confidence intervals) for NAC involvement diagnosis were 71% (58–81) and 94% (91–96), respectively, for continuity to the NAC; 58% (45–70) and 97% (95–99), respectively, for unilateral NAC enhancement; 55% (46–64) and 83% (75–88), respectively, for NME type; and 88% (68–96) and 58% (40–75), respectively, for mass size (> 20 mm). TND had an area under the SROC curve of 0.799 for NAC involvement. A TND of 11.5 mm achieved a predetermined specificity of 85% with a sensitivity of 64%, and a TND of 12.3 mm yielded a predetermined specificity of 83% with a sensitivity of 65%. Conclusion: Continuity to the NAC and unilateral NAC enhancement may help predict occult NAC involvement in breast cancer. To achieve the desired diagnostic performance with TND, a suitable cutoff value should be considered.

        Background: Intestinal tuberculosis (ITB) is still prevalent in Korea. Recently, the incidence of Crohn`s disease (CD) is also increasing, therefore, differential diagnosis of CD from ITB is challenging. An INF-gamma assay (QuantiFERON-TB gold test, QFT) is regarded as a good supplementary tool for the diagnosis of ITB. However, the clinical implication of the positive results of QFT in ITB is uncertain. We investigated the clinical features of patients of ITB according to the results of QFT. Methods: We enrolled the ITB patients who were tested for QFT in the initial diagnosis from April 2007 to July 2013. We retrospectively analyzed clinical features of ITB patients based on the results of QFT. Results: A total of 109 patients with ITB were enrolled from 3 institutes and 82 patients (75.2%) showed positive results of QFT, whereas 27 patients (24.8%) showed negative results. In QFT-positive group, the mean age at the time of diagnosis as ITB is 44.1±12 years, which is significantly higher than QFT-negative group (37±14.8 years, p=0.0096). In addition, QFT-positive group showed more history of previous BCG injection than QFT-negative group (P=0.009). C-reactive protein level at the time of diagnosis as ITB is signifi cantly lower in QFT-positive group (1.3±2.3 mg/dL) than QFT-negative group (6.4±9.9 mg/dL, P<0.000). However, no differences was found between groups regarding the presence of granuloma in colonic tissues (P=0.095), accompanying of extraintestinal TB (P=0.592), or the level of ESR (P=0.978). Conclusions: QFT-positive results were gained in three-fourths patients with ITB and we confi rmed that QFT is a good supplementary tool for the diagnosis of ITB. In QFT-positive group, the mean age is higher and has more history of BCG injection than QFT-negative group, suggesting the positive correlation between QFT and BCG injection.

        본 연구는 주민조직 반월사랑에 참여하는 주민들의 마을활동 경험을 중심으로 마을공동체 활동이 주민들에게 어떤 의미이며, 이들의 활동을 유지하게 하는 원동력과 기제가 무엇인지 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 반월사랑에 참여하고 있는 주민10명을 심층면접 후 일반적 질적 연구방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 분절된 마을 안에서 더불어 살기를 바라는 평범한 부모들은 자발적으로 모임을 조직하여, 순수하게 아이들과 마을을 위해 필요한 활동들을 전개해 나가며 주체화 되어갔다. 그리고 이 주체성이 가진 힘들은 다시 새로운 활동을 만들어내는 순환 고리가 되어 마을활동의 강력한 원동력으로 작동되었다. 특히 반월복지센터는 주민들이 주체적인 주민조직으로 거듭날 수 있도록 관리자가 아닌 주민조직의 일원으로 함께하며 지원하고, 마을 활동의 공간적 구심이 되어주었다. 이러한 주민의 주체적 활동과 반월복지센터의 협력적 연대를 통해 주민조직의 역동성은 강화되었고 마을공동체성이 회복 되어감을 알 수 있었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 마을공동체가 형성되기 위해서는 주민조직의 주체성을 살리는 유연한 중간조직의 설치가 필요하며, 주체적 주민활동이 가능한 커뮤니티 공간 확보되어져야 한다. 마지막으로 유연하고 포괄적인 예산지원정책이 마련되어져야 함을 제언하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine what value the community activities in village, to look into the experience of the residents who participated in "Love of Banwol," a residents" organization. For this purpose, 10 residents participating in Love of Banwol were analyzed using in - depth interviews and general qualitative research methods. The results of the analysis showed that the ordinary parents voluntarily gathered for their children and villages and began to act. through various activities, they gradually became the subject of organization. And the force of such independence worked as a powerful driving force by becoming a virtuous cycle that creates more new activities. In particular, the Banwol Welfare Center helped residents as part of the residents" organization, not an administrator, and became a spatial center in order for residents to make an independent residents" organization. Through the cooperative solidarity between such independent activities of residents and the Banwol Welfare Center, the dynamics of the residents" organization was enhanced and the community spirit was restored. Based on the results, this study suggests the necessity of a flexible intermediate organization that promotes the independence of the residents" organization and a community space where independent activities of residents can be carried out. Lastly, this study suggests that flexible and comprehensive budget support policies should be prepared.

        Differences in Clinical Manifestations according to the Positivity of Interferon-γ Assay in Patients with Intestinal Tuberculosis

        Intestinal tuberculosis (ITB) remains prevalent in Asia. An interferon-γ assay (QuantiFERON-TB gold test [QFT]) is considered to be an effective supplementary tool for diagnosing ITB. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical features of ITB patients based on the initial results of QFT. A total of 109 patients with ITB were enrolled, and 82 patients (75.2%) showed positive QFT results. In the QFT-positive group, the mean age (44.1±12.0 years) was significantly higher than that in the QFT-negative group (37.0±14.8, p=0.0096). Abdominal pain (p=0.006) and diarrhea (p=0.030) were more frequent in the QFT-negative group. Further, C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were significantly higher in the QFTnegative group (6.4±9.9 mg/dL) than in the QFT-positive group (1.3±2.3, p<0.001). Multivariate analysis confirmed that younger age (p=0.016), diarrhea (p=0.042), and high levels of CRP (p=0.029) were independent predictors of QFTnegative results in patients with ITB. These results suggest that prior exposure to TB, reflected by QFT positivity, may cause mild inflammation in patients with ITB.

        Feasibility Study of Diffusion Film for the Light Guide of Gamma Ray Imaging System

        A light guide improves the spatial resolution of a gamma ray imaging system by diffusing the scintillation light. Similarly, light diffusion film, which has been applied to flat-panel-display engineering, spreads the light from the light guide panel. In this study, we adopted light diffusion film for the light guide of a gamma ray imaging system, and evaluated its diffusion characteristics. We compared the light diffusion performance of the film to an ordinary acrylic plate. As a result, the diffusion film widely spreads scintillation light. As for the thickness of the light guide, we acquired more distinct images with three films overlapped than with an acrylic plate. We expect light diffusion film to be a promising candidate for light guides in gamma ray imaging systems.

        Induction of Nanog in neural progenitor cells for adaptive regeneration of ischemic brain

        NANOG plays a key role in cellular plasticity and the acquisition of the stem cell state during reprogramming, but its role in the regenerative process remains unclear. Here, we show that the induction of NANOG in neuronal cells is necessary for the physiological initiation of neuronal regeneration in response to ischemic stress. Specifically, we found that NANOG was preferentially expressed in undifferentiated neuronal cells, and forced expression of Nanog in neural progenitor cells (NPCs) promoted their self-renewing expansion both in ex-vivo slice cultures and in vitro limiting dilution analysis. Notably, the upstream region of the Nanog gene contains sequence motifs for hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α). Therefore, cerebral neurons exposed to hypoxia significantly upregulated NANOG expression selectively in primitive (CD133+) cells, but not in mature cells, leading to the expansion of NPCs. Notably, up to 80% of the neuronal expansion induced by hypoxia was attributed to NANOG-expressing neuronal cells, whereas knockdown during hypoxia abolished this expansion and was accompanied by the downregulation of other pluripotency-related genes. Moreover, the number of NANOG-expressing neuronal cells were transiently increased in response to ischemic insult, predominantly in the infarct area of brain regions undergoing neurogenesis, but not in non-neurogenic loci. Together, these findings reveal a functional effect of NANOG-induction for the initiation of adaptive neuronal regeneration among heterogeneous NPC subsets, pointing to cellular plasticity as a potential link between regeneration and reprogramming processes.
