        본 논문은 삼성전자에서 수행한 컴퓨터의 전과정평가 결과를 요약한 것이다. 컴퓨터의 환경성을 정량적으로 분석하여 환경친화적인 제품의 개발을 위한 기초 데이터를 축적하기 위해 컴퓨터의 전과정평가를 수행하였다. 대상제품은 Pentium Ⅱ 프로세서를 장착한 데스크탑 컴퓨터 본체와 17인치 모니터로 구성된 컴퓨터 1세트이다. 현장 데이터를 위주로 부품 및 제품 제조 공정 데이터를 수집하였으며, 현장데이터의 수집이 어려운 물질 생산 및 에너지 관련 데이터는 문헌 데이터를 활용하였다. 목록분석을 거쳐 무생물자원고갈, 지구온난화, 성층권내 오존감소, 광화학산화물 생성, 산성화, 부영양화, 인간독성, 생태독성 8개 영향범주의 환경영향을 정량화하였으며, 이를 정규화 및 가중치 부여를 통해 단일한 환경영향지수값으로 통합하였다. 컴퓨터의 전과정에 걸친 환경영향의 54.8%가 사용단계에서 기인하는 것으로 나타났으며, 모니터, 주기판(Mother Board), 전원공급장치(SMPS), 모뎀(Modem), 하드디스크(HDD) 등의 주요 부품의 제조로 인한 환경영향이 비교적 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 컴퓨터의 환경성을 향상시키기 위한 방안 수립을 위한 기초 데이터로서 사용되고 있으며, 국내외 구매자에 대한 환경정보 제공을 위해 활용되고 있다. The life cycle assessment on a computer is performed in order to identify the environmental impacts during the life cycle of a computer and to establish the database to develop environmentally friendly computers. This article contains simplified results from the life cycle assessment on a computer. A desktop PC set that consists of a PC mainframe (including Pentium Ⅱ processor) and a monitor (having 17-inch screen) is chosen as the functional unit for this study. Site-specific data are collected for the component production processes and the assembly processes. Material production and energy related data are derived from literature since it is too difficult to collect site-specific data for those. The impact categories considered in this study are abiotic resource depletion, global warming, stratospheric ozone depletion, photochemical oxidant creation, acidification, eutrophication, human toxicity and eco-toxicity. The characterization results are integrated into single value through normalization and weighting. The use phase in the life cycle of a desktop PC is the most major contribution as 54.8% of total impact assessment value. And other major contributing components in production are monitor, mother board, SMPS, modem, HDD and so on. The results from the life cycle assessment on a computer are used to establish the strategy for improving environmental performance of computer and to provide environmental information of the product to customers.

      • Hyaluronic Acid/Calcium Phosphate Hybrid Gene Delivery System facilitates osteogenic differentiation of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells

        Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) are one of the stem cells that have multipotent properties. Despite their boundless possibility, current use of hMSCs in clinics is still limited because differentiation of hMSCs to desired cells is often difficult to control especially in vivo situation. Herein, biologically acceptable calcium phosphate (CaP)-based nanoparticles stabilized with a catechol-derivatized hyaluronic acid (dopa-HA) conjugate were used as a carrier for gene transfection to hMSCs for improved differentiation. Owing to the specific binding between HA and CD44 of bone marrow-derived hMSCs, dopa-HA/CaP showed significantly higher transfection in hMSCs than branched polyethylenimine (bPEI, MW 25 kDa) with high biocompatibility. The co-delivery of a plasmid DNA encoding bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2 pDNA) and micro RNA 148b (miRNA-148b) by dopa-HA/CaP successfully achieve improved osteogenic differentiation of hMSCs.

Herein, biocompatible calcium phosphate (CaP)-based nanoparticles stabilized with a catechol-derivatized hyaluronic acid (dopa-HA) conjugate were used as a carrier for gene transfection to hMSCs for improved differentiation.         Prevalence and Risk Factors of Bladder Neck Contracture After Radical Prostatectomy

        Purpose: To evaluate the prevalence of bladder neck contracture (BNC) and its risk factors in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy in Korea. Materials and Methods: We analyzed data from 488 patients with prostatic cancer who underwent radical prostatectomy performed by seven surgeons in seven hospitals, including 365 open radical prostatectomies (ORPs), 99 laparoscopic radical prostatectomies (LRPs), and 24 robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomies (RARPs). Patients with BNCs were compared with those without BNCs to identify the risk factors for BNC occurrence. Results: Overall, BNCs occurred in 21 of 488 patients (4.3%): 17 patients (4.7%) who underwent ORP, 4 patients (4%) who underwent LRP, and no patients who underwent RARP. In the univariate analysis, men with BNCs had a longer length of time before drain removal (12 days vs. 6.8 days, p<0.001), which reflected urinary leakage through the vesicourethral anastomosis. In the multivariate analysis, the length of time before drain removal was the only predictor of BNC (odds ratio, 1.12; p=0.001). Intraoperative blood loss was higher in patients with BNC, but the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusions: The most significant factor related to BNC occurrence after radical prostatectomy in our study was the length of time before drain removal, which reflects urinary leakage from the vesicourethral anastomosis. The proper formation of a watertight anastomosis to decrease urinary leakage may help to reduce the occurrence of BNC.

        헤세의 다매체적 특징과 상호매체 넘나들기

        In the training field where literature is used as a tool, some excerpts from its text are used, instead of its full text. Therefore, it is necessary to have empirical guidelines for which part of the text should be used as Memory-Hint, a part that reminds its reader of certain memory, and for how the text can be introduced effectively. For the study, Hesse's whole life and his literary characters were examined from a therapeutic perspective. First, while Hesse's life was reviewed and his characters were analyzed, Hesse was recognized for Self-therapeutic Life. He also lived a life of multimedia in which he practiced writing, painting, playing musical instruments, meditation, walking, etc. Second, Contents of Literature Therapy using Hesse's works were applied to the schizophrenic patients. Media used for the clinical study were mostly extracted from Hesse's works. They began to show interest in others and express their empathy on others, in addition to expressing their sentimental empathy on Hesse's texts. How effectively Hesse utilized multimedia during his lifetime will be good literary resources in helping improving modern-day people's mental health and curing their pathological problems. 문학을 활용하는 실습현장에서는 문학의 전문이 아니라 일부분을 발췌해서 사용한다. 따라서 어느 부분을 기억힌트로 활용할 것인지, 어떻게 제시하는 것이 효과적인지에 관한 실증적인 지침이 필요하다. 본 연구를 위해서 헤세의 삶 전반과 그의 인물들을 문학치료적인 관점으로 들여다보았다. 첫째, 헤세의 작품 속 인물을 분석하는 과정에서 자가치유적인 삶을 살아가고 있는 헤세의 모습을 만날 수 있었다. 또한 그는 쓰기, 그리기, 연주하기, 감상하기, 명상하기, 걷기 등과 함께하는 다매체적인 삶을 살았다. 둘째, 연구자는 헤세와 그의 작품을 활용한 문학치료 콘텐츠를 조현병 환자들에게 적용해 보았다. 임상에서 활용한 매체는 헤세의 작품 속에서 추출한 것이었다. 참여자들은 헤세의 작품에 대해 정서적 공감을 할 수 있었으며 나아가 참여자들간의 상호공감나누기도 가능하였다. 헤세가 보여주는 다매체적인 특성과 활용방법은 현대인의 정신건강을 증진하고 병리적인 문제를 치유하기 위해서 중요한 인문학적 자원이 될 것이다.

        수소 연료전지 추진 선박 적용을 위한 메탄올 수증기 개질 시스템 최적 운전점 연구

        Hydrogen fuel cell propulsion ships are emerging to respond to the recently strengthened carbon emission regulations in the international shipping sector. Methanol can be stored in a liquid state at normal pressure and temperature, and has the advantage of lower reforming temperature compared to other fuels. In this study, the optimal operating point of the methanol steam reforming system was derived by changing the Steam Carbon Ratio (SCR) from 0.10 to 3.00. Results showed that In terms of methanol conversion rate and hydrogen yield, the larger the SCR is the better, but in terms of system efficiency, it is most advantageous to operate at SCR 0.70 in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) mode and SCR 0.80 in Pd membrane mode. Through this study, it was found that the optimal SCR in the reformer and the entire system including the reformer may be different, which indicates that the optimum operating point may be different depending on the change of the system configuration.
