Framework for evaluating code generation ability of large language models

Large language models (LLMs) have revolutionized various applications in natural language processing and exhibited proficiency in generating programming code. We propose a framework for evaluating the code generation ability of LLMs and introduce a new metric, pass-ratio@n, which captures the granularity of accuracy according to the pass rate of test cases. The framework is intended to be fully automatic to handle the repetitive work involved in generating prompts, conducting inferences, and executing the generated codes. A preliminary evaluation focusing on the prompt detail, problem publication date, and difficulty level demonstrates the successful integration of our framework with the LeetCode coding platform and highlights the applicability of the pass-ratio@n metric.

The plasticized polymer electrolytes based on polyvinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene (P(VdF-co-HFP)), tetra (ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether (TEGDME), and lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) are prepared for the lithium sulfur batteries by solution casting with a doctor-blade. The polymer electrolyte with EO : Li ratio of 16 : 1 shows the maximum ionic conductivity,6.5 × 10−4 S/cm at room temperature. To understand the effect of the salt concentration on the electrochemical performance, the polymer electrolytes are characterized using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), infrared spectroscopy (IR), viscometer, and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The optimum concentration and mobility of the charge carriers could lead to enhance the utilization of sulfur active materials and the cyclability of the Li/S unit cell.
그래프와 트리 구조를 활용한 한국어 문장제 수학 문제 풀이의 성능개선 연구

In previous studies, there have been various efforts to solve math word problems in the English sentence system. In many studies, improved performance was achieved by introducing structures such as trees and graphs, beyond the Sequence-to-Sequence approaches. However, in the study of solving math problems in Korean sentence systems, there are no model cases, using structures such as trees or graphs. Thus, in this paper, we examine the possibility of solving math problems in Korean sentence systems for models using the tree structure, graph structure, and Korean pre-training language models together. Our experimental results showed that accuracy improved by approximately 20%, compared to the model of the Seq2seq structure, by introducing the graph and tree structure. Additionally, the use of the Korean pre-training language model showed an accuracy improvement of 4.66%-5.96%. 선행 연구에서 영어 문장제 수학 문제를 해결하려 한 다양한 시도가 있었다. 많은 연구에서 Sequence-to-Sequence(이하 Seq2seq) 패러다임을 넘어선 트리, 그래프 등의 구조를 도입하여 개선된 성능을 달성할 수 있었다. 하지만 한국어 문장제 수학 문제 풀이 연구에서는 트리(Tree)나 그래프(Graph)등으로 제안된 구조를 활용한 모델 사례가 없다. 이에 본 논문에서는 한국어 사전학습 언어모델을 사용하여 트리 구조를 활용하는 모델, 트리와 그래프 구조를 함께 활용하는 모델에 대한 한국어 문장제 수학 문제 풀이 능력의 가능성을 검토해보고자 한다. 테스트 결과 그래프와 트리 구조를 도입함으로써 Seq2seq 구조의 모델 대비 약 20%의 정확도 향상을 보였고, 나아가 한국어 사전학습 언어모델을 사용한 것이 사용하지 않은 것 대비 4.66~5.96%의 정확도 향상을 보였다.
Zebrafish Klf11b is Required to Maintain Cell Viability by Inhibiting p53-Mediated Apoptosis

Krüppel-like factor 10 (KLF10) regulates various cellular functions, such as proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, as well as the homeostasis of several types of tissue. In the present study, we attempted a loss-of-function analysis of zebrafish Klf11a and Klf11b, which constitute human KLF10 homologs. Embryos injected with klf11b-morpholino (MO) showed developmental retardation and cell death, whereas klf11a-MO-injected embryos showed normal development. In klf11b-MO-injected embryos, a dramatic increase in the amount of zebrafish p53 mRNA might be the cause of the increase in that of bax. The degree of apoptosis decreased in the klf11b-MO and p53-MO co-injected embryos. These findings imply that KLF10 is a negative regulator of p53-dependent transcription, suggesting that the KLF10/p53 complex may play an important role in apoptosis for maintenance of tissue homeostasis during embryonic development.

Oil spills have occurred throughout the years of industrialization and represent a global challenge as they affect vast areas of the ocean. The toxicity of crude oil to aquatic organisms has been extensively investigated, but the potential impacts of crude oil on vertebrate development remain largely unknown. Here, we investigated the effects of dispersants used in treating a recent oil spill, as well as that of crude oil, on vertebrates by using the zebrafish (Danio rerio) model species, which has been widely used in empirical studies of both early embryonic development and adult physiology. Chronic exposure to crude oil resulted in marked developmental abnormalities, including pericardial edema, abnormal trunk vessel development, retardation of axonal branching, and abnormal jaw development. Embryonic development was affected more severely by exposure to the oil-dispersant combination than to the oil alone. Thus, the zebrafish in vivo model system suggests that dispersant treatment can have detrimental developmental effects on vertebrates and its potential impact on marine life, as well as humans, should be carefully considered in clean-up efforts at the site of an oil spill.

Korean rose bitterling (Rhodeus uyekii), whichbelongs to the Acheilognathinae subfamily of the Cyprinidaefamily, has been proposed as a candidate for thedevelopment of ornamental fish in Korea. To develop apromoter capable of driving constitutive transgeneexpression, we identified and characterized the b-actingene of R. uyekii (Ru-actb). The genomic organization ofRu-actb, which contains six exons, including an unexpressedfirst exon, is conserved with vertebrate b-actingenes. The Ru-actb gene has several regulatory elements,including a typical CAAT box, an evolutionarily conservedCArG motif, and a TATA box, in the proximal promoterregion, and an additional CArG motif in the first intron. The regulatory region of Ru-actb covering from -4,474 bpto the start codon was able to drive the expression of redfluorescent protein in zebrafish and Korean rose bitterling. Ru-actb mRNA was ubiquitously detected in all tissues;highly expressed in brain, kidney, stomach, and intestine;and weakly expressed in eye, gill, fin, hepatopancreas,spleen, muscle, testis, and ovary. These results indicate thatthe regulatory region of Ru-actb may be used to develop auseful promoter for transgene expression in fish.
