        기술의 참신성 지표를 활용한 주제어 기반 기술동향분석: 장갑기술(Armor Technology)분야 특허 및 논문 분석

        Technology trend analysis was performed based on keywords selected in the title and abstract of the armor technology-related patents and papers. Therefore, in order to secure sufficient data combat vehicle, as well as technologies of personal protection and private vehicles, nuclear power plant, the damage caused by natural disasters included. Analysis procedure is classified into pre-analysis and keywordbased analysis. The pre-analysis looked at the research and development trends in the historical aspect. The keyword-based analysis examined the changes in the subject and compared the difference in the patents and papers. Utilizing the technology newness index reported a novel technique to derive separated by a period in the field of material and non-material field, we compared the results with simple frequency analysis. The significance of this paper is as follows. First, defense science and technology, especially the armor technology was analyzed. Second, all of the patents and papers was considered, and compared the results. Third, proposed and used the Technology Emphasis Index and Technology Newness Index. 본 논문은 장갑기술 관련 특허와 논문을 수집하여 제목과 초록에서 선별한 주제어를 활용한 주제어 기반 기술동향분석에 대한 내용이다. 전투차량뿐만 아니라개인방호기술, 일반차량의 사고 피해 방지 기술, 원자로 보호 기술, 자연재해 방지기술 등에서도 장갑기술과 연관성이 있는 자료도 분석대상에 포함하였다. 분석방법은 사전분석과 주제어 분석으로 구분하였다. 사전분석에서는 특허와논문의 발표추이를 미국을 중심으로 한 전쟁사례와 연계하여 살펴보았다. 주제어분석에서는 자료를 시대별로 구분하여 주제어의 변화를 살펴보았고, 특허와 논문의 결과를 비교하였다. 기술의 참신성 지표를 활용하여 시대별로 눈여겨볼 만한기술을 도출하였다. 특히 주제어를 기술적 특성에 따라 재료분야와 재료 이외의분야로 구분하였고, 분석결과를 빈도분석 결과와 비교하였다. 본 논문의 성과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국방과학기술분야의 주요 연구영역인 장갑기술을 분석대상으로 하고 있다. 둘째, 특허와 논문을 동시에 고려하여 분석하고 결과를 비교하였다. 셋째, 기술집중도와 기술의 참신성 지표를 제안하고 활용하였다.

        기술지주회사 자회사의 기술사업화 애로요인 분석 - 부산지역을 중심으로 -

        South Korea’s balance of technology-trade in 2015 ranked the 28th highest among the OECD countries although its R&D investment-to-GDP ratio ranked the world’s second-largest in 2016. As the increased-investment in R&D does not seem to lead to the increase in market value of R&D, it is important to “commercialize” technologies, which means to develop, produce or sell products or to improve other related technologies. Establishing ‘technology holding companies’ is one of the technology-commercialization methods. Their role is to promote commercialization of their technology by establishing subsidiary companies. In Busan, there are five technology holding companies with their 89 subsidiaries. We applied AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) methodology for technology buyers, technology intermediaries, technology suppliers and policy makers to identify such difficulties in technology-commercialization. As a result, technical factors were found to be the most significant. As detailed factors in order of importance are; timeliness of technology, technology advancing, market environment, commercialization capacity, technology compatibility, legal system and national policy. This study analyzed the difficulties of the technology holding companies in technology commercialization by dividing respondents into four groups according to their functions, and the sample of 92 experts were used to increase the reliability of the results. Moreover, it is meaningful that the analysis is based on the local area. This study indicates that the support from the government on timeliness of technology and the market environment is urgent and that it is necessary for the local government to implement and systematize central government’s promotion strategy of technology transfer and commercialization. These findings are expected to formulate the strategy on the development of technology holding company’s subsidiaries. 2016년 기준 한국의 GDP 대비 R&D 투자규모는 전 세계 2위 수준이나, 2015년 기준 기술무역수지는 OECD 국가 중에서 28위를 기록하고 있다. R&D 투자의 증가가 실질적인 시장가치의 증가로 이어지지 못하고 있는 상황에서 기술을 이용하여 제품을 개발⋅생산 또는 판매하거나 그 과정의 관련 기술을 향상시키는 ‘사업화’가 중요시 된다. 사업화 방안 중 ‘산학연협력기술지주회사’는 대학이나 공공기관이 보유한 기술을 출자하여 자회사를 설립하고 사업화하기 위한 전문조직으로 부산은 5개의 기술지주회사가 설립되었으며 자회사는 89개사에 이른다. 본 연구에서는 기술지주회사 자회사의 기술사업화 애로요인을 분석하기 위하여 기술수요자, 기술중개자, 기술공급자, 정책입안자를 대상으로 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process, 계층적 분석기법) 방법론을 적용하였다. 그 결과, 지주회사의 기술사업화 애로요인으로 기술적 요인이 가장 중요한 것으로 조사되었으며 세부적으로는 기술의 적시성, 기술의 고도성, 시장환경, 사업화 역량, 기술의 호환성, 법제와 정책 순으로 나타났다. 본 논문은 기술사업화 관련자를 기능별로 네 개의 그룹으로 나누어 애로요인을 분석한 연구이며 92명의 전문가를 대상으로 분석하여 연구의 신뢰성을 높였다. 또한, 지역을 단위로 분석을 수행했다는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 기술의 적시성과 시장환경 정보제공을 위한 정부의 지원정책이 시급하다는 것과 국가의 ‘기술이전 및 사업화촉진계획’을 지역단위에서 실행하고 체계화할 수 있는 지방자치단체의 계획이 필요하다는 것이다. 본 연구는 기술지주회사 자회사의 발전 방향을 수립하는 데 큰 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

        기술확산과 경제성장의 변동성

        This paper explores the controversial issue of the effect of technology change on growth volatility from the perspective of technology diffusion model. Unlike existing growth and business cycle theories, this paper measures technology change by diffusion of capital goods embodying new technology through firm selection. Since the quantity of capital goods are related to the changes in quantity produced to meet the demands for goods embodying new technology, adoption of capital goods can explain growth volatility. Empirical estimation of effect of technology diffusion on growth volatility for 20 manufacturing industries and 18 services industries during the period 2002-2015, shows that: 1) for the 8 years from 2008-2015, growth volatility was primarily determined by fall in capital goods prices and exogenous increase in demand; 2) since the global financial crisis, demand for consumer goods and intermediate goods did not contribute to growth volatility; 3) government policy can be an important tool to stimulate growth under economic crisis; 4) R&D at the industry level is not an appropriate variable to measure technology change; 5) after 2012, technology change stimulated expansion of the services sector but led to contraction of manufacturing. The model developed in this paper complements the technology-led growth view of new growth theory, by showing that growth is not only affected by technology push on the supply side, but also pulled by demand from the product market side. Such a synthesized perspective deepens our understanding of the effect of technology on growth volatility and imply that effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy will be enhanced when coordinated with technology policy. 본 논문은 “기술변화와 성장의 변동성”에 관한 논쟁적 문제를 기술확산모형을 통하여 분석하였다. 신기술을 생산하는 자본재가 한편으로는 신기술공급과 연결되고 또 다른 한편으로는그 신기술수요를 공급하는 생산량과 연결된다는 것은 매개수단인 자본재 수요변화(확산)를 이용해서 기술공급변화가 신기술 생산량의 변화에 미치는 영향을 측정할 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 이런 아이디어가 반영된 기술확산모형을 2002년부터 2015년까지 14년 기간 동안 한국의 20개 제조업과 18개 서비스산업의 패널데이터에 적용해서 기술변화가 혁신성장에 미치는영향을 분석하였다. 그 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 2008년부터 8년간의 혁신성장변동성이 주로 기술공급요인인 자본재가격하락과 외생적 수요증가에 의해서 일어났다. (2) 글로벌 경제위기 이후 성장의 변동성에 소비재 및 중간생산재 수요가 기여하지 못했다. (3) 경제위기와 같은 시장 불균형 상태에 있을 때 정부정책이 성장의 변동성을 일으키는 중요한 수단이다. (4) 산업연구개발투자는 기술공급을 측정하는 적절한 변수가 되지 못한다. (5) 2012년이후 기술변화가 제조업은 축소되고 서비스업이 확대되는 형태로 산업구조변화가 변화하는데 영향을 미쳤다. 본 논문이 기존의 연구에 기여하는 부분은 신성장이론이 주장하는 기술견인 성장이론을 보완해서 혁신성장이 기술견인뿐만 아니라 수요견인에 의해서도 일어난다는종합적(synthesized) 관점의 모형을 제공하는 것이다. 이러한 접근은 기술변화와 성장의 변동성에 대한 이해를 높이고, 기존의 기술정책 효과성을 높이는 데 기여 한다.

        Technology Education Teachers' Beliefs: Transition across 40 Years in the United States

        The purpose of this study was to investigate Technology Education teachers’beliefs about the “purposes” and “content” of Technology Education instruction in the U.S. In addition, this study provided a longitudinal record of the Technology Education profession over 40 years. An on-line survey was developed and sent separately to middle school and high school Technology Education teachers, who (1) taught within seven selected states in three regions (eastern,mid-west, and western) of the United States; and (2) were members of the International Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association. We developed the instrument items based on previous national surveys and emerging issues in the profession. Findings from this survey were put into historical context by comparing results with the four national surveys covering over 40 years to identify changes in teachers’ beliefs about the purposes, and content of Technology Education as well as to document demographic changes. A number of findings were pertinent to this paper. First, Technology Education is the most frequently used program name followed by a variety of alternate program names;some form of “engineering” appears to be an emerging trend for naming Technology Education programs. Second, the composition of Technology Education teachers and students has become more diverse over time with substantial increases in diversity for the past 10 years. Third, general education purposes such as “develop problem solving skills” are the most frequent purposes teachers identified while vocational type purposes such as “develop skills in using tools and machines” were prominent in previous studies. Finally, Technology Education teachers reported that they believe Technology Education should address “core concepts of technology” taught in the context of design and problem solving. These and other findings are discussed in terms of their impact on Technology Education programs and implications for future development in the profession.

        An Evolutionary Approach to Technology Standard Competition: Focusing on 4th wireless telecommunication technology

        Technology standard competition is a fierce competition between tech- nologies to become a de facto standard. This is because a company or a group that develops and secures a de facto standard technology can gain an edge in the market and industry. This study applies the evolutionary perspective of natural selection to interpret the competition between technologies. By genetically interpret- ing the process of natural selection, the traits suitable for the environment spread to the group through generations through a mechanism called differential reproduction. By culturally interpreting the process of natural selection, the strategies to get higher payoffs spread to the group through generations by diffusion. In order to compare the payoffs between WiMAX technology and LTE technology, the measurement indicators were extracted from the patent data and defined. As a result, it was confirmed that LTE technology standard was technologically superior to the WiMAX technology standard. The main academic contribution of this study Is to compare the technol- ogy-related indicators such as diffusion, scope and profitability to figure out strategies to get higher payoffs between the WiMAX technology standard and LTE technology standard based on the evolutionary perspective.

      • The Relationship between Technology-Based Self-Service Convenience Orientation factor and Technology-Based Self-Service Convenience, Quality

        This study examined effects of ease of use, information, control on technology-based self-service convenience perceived by customers who had ever used technology-based self-service and determined relationship between technology-based self-service convenience and technology- based self-service quality. In particular, this study categorized technology-based self-service convenience into five dimensions-decision, access, transaction, benefit, and post-benefit convenience and examined effects of influences factors on such multidimensional technology- based self-service convenience. The results of the empirical study can be summarized as follows: First, use of ease exerted significant influence on four dimensions of technology-based self-service convenience-decision, access, transaction, benefit-except post-benefit convenience among five dimensions of technology-based self-service convenience. Second, information had significantly affects transaction, benefit, and post-benefit convenience while dimensions―decision, access convenience had insignificant effects by information. Post-benefit convenience in relation to information was the most important factor in increasing generally convenience. Third, testing the hypothesis that technology-based self-service convenience would have significant effects on technology- based self-service quality revealed that decision, access, transaction, benefit, and post-benefit convenience had significant relationship.

        실험애니메이션에서 하이테크놀로지 활용의 전개 및 특징 연구

        Animation is not only included in art, but also encompasses a variety of fields from humanities to technology. In particular, experimental animation has developed its symbolic meaning and aesthetic value through experiments with various technologies. This study studied the characteristics of the experimental animation and high technology based on computers. To find out the characteristics of experimental animation and high technology, current high technology and previous low technology, and commercial animation and experimental animation were compared. Experimental animation accompanies an experimental approach to techniques, and experimental works using specific functions and techniques of high technology appear from the works of early artists. They directly develop or participate in the development of high technology, and they try new things through mixing with low technology. The characteristics that appear in this development process are synthesized into three. First, the tendency to mix and use low technology and high technology, second, expansion of the concept of experimental animation due to the programmed process of high 애니메이션은 예술에 포함될 뿐만 아니라 인문학에서 기술에 이르기까지 다양한 분야를 포함하고 있다. 특히 실험애니메이션은 상징적 의미와 미학 적 가치를 다양한 테크놀로지의 실험을 통해 발전시켜왔다. 본 연구는 실험 애니메이션과 컴퓨터를 중심으로 하는 하이테크놀로지(High Technology) 의 전개에서 나타나는 특징을 연구하였다. 실험애니메이션과 하이테크놀로 지의 특성을 알아보기 위해 현제의 하이테크놀로지와 이전의 로우테크놀로 지(Low Technology), 그리고 상업애니메이션과 실험애니메이션을 비교하 였다. 실험애니메이션은 기법에 대한 실험적 접근을 동반하고 초기 작가들 의 작품부터 하이테크놀로지의 특정 기능과 기법을 활용한 실험적인 작품 들이 나타난다. 하이테크놀로지를 직접 개발하거나 개발에 참여하기도하고 로우테크놀로지와의 혼용을 통해 새로운 시도를 하기도 한다. 이러한 전개 과정에서 나타나는 특징은 세 가지로 종합된다. 첫째, 로우테크놀로지와 하 이테크놀로지의 혼합하여 사용하는 경향, 둘째, 하이테크놀로지의 프로그 래밍 된 프로세스로 인한 실험애니메이션 개념의 확장, 셋째, 작가의 하이 테크놀로지 개발 참여와 협업이다. 이들은 모두 창작자의 모험정신을 바탕 으로 하여 애니메이션의 예술적 가치와 실험정신을 고취시키고 사고의 전 환과 기법의 확장을 통해 보다 넓은 개념으로 애니메이션 창작에 다가갈 수 있는 사례들을 보여준다.

        Technology Commercialization and the Performance of New Technology-Based Firms: The Moderating Effect of Internationalization

        Technology commercialization is the ability of companies to translate technology into innovations that leads to valuable market transactions. Companies may enhance the ability to commercialize their technologies through knowledge acquisition from international activities. This means that internationalization itself could be a useful platform for new technology-based small firms to help facilitate technology commercialization activities. Nonetheless, research into technology commercialization as a key capability that allows firms to successfully bring their technologies to markets remains under- examined. This study seeks to explore the impact of technology commercialization on the performance of new technology-based small firms in Korea, with a particular focus on the moderating effect of internationalization. Building on the extant relevant literature, the study constructs hypotheses, which are tested using multiple regression analyses for data collected from 221 new technology-based firms which operate in the Korean Green IT sector. The results indicate that technology commercialization and internationalization positively relates to performance and that internationalization positively moderates the relationship between technology commercialization and performance. The findings imply that, for new technology-based firms, active involvement in international activities can help them to gain external complementary resources, thereby contributing to performance improvement. Such firms that seek to commercialize R&D output therefore need to strategically place more emphasis on international business involvement in that it should secure further growth and competitive advantage. Limitations and suggestions for future research are presented.

        연구개발성과의 기술사업화 활성화를 위한 영향요인 분석 연구

        This study performed the empirical analysis on the factors to influence the activation of technology commercialization and derived the policy implications, by expanding the scope of research to take into account the assumption that the technology commercialization. To solve this problem, it was defined that four factors such as technology supplier, technology consumer, market and policy support were affected in the facilitation of technology commercialization, and multiple regression analysis was performed. Among the factors that influence the facilitation of technology commercialization, policy support capabilities, technology consumer capabilities, market absorption capacity showed a statistically significant result, but technology supplier capabilities were not statistically significant.In order to be public R&D outcome is supplied to the market through technology consumer, technology supply that can reflect the market and technology consumer is needed. Because government R&D related plan is changed the setting from supplier oriented to consumer oriented applied and development research innovation, It should create an efficient technology commercialization environment that can reflect the consumer``s needs or reflected consumer``s demands and its continuing political support. In addition, the provision is necessary to strengthen the utilization capabilities for the company``s import technology.

        Technology Trade and Valuation Model of Technology Factor Method

        This study analyzes the applicability of a technology valuation model from methodological and practical perspectives on international technology trade. To accommodate high uncertainties in cross-border technology trades, international valuation practitioners prefer using the income approach which is based on the discounted future cash flows from the subject technology valued. This study analyzes the technology factor method (TFM) and suggests an improved valuation model relevant to international technology trade by presenting valuation results of a hypothetical case. TFM’s estimation process starts with the assessment of the risks (uncertainties) related to the successful application and commercialization of the subject technology. After determining an entity’s overall business value created by the subject technology, TFM multiplies this value by the technology’s contributory factor. In domestic technology transactions, TFM estimates the contributory proportion of technological asset to be from 1/4 to 1/3. In international technology trades, however, this study suggests that TFM take into consideration additional factors such as trade utility and trade tendency when estimating the contribution factor. This study’s case analysis confirms that the suggested method mitigates the traditional TFM’s prerequisites on efficiency, completeness, and comparability of international technology trading markets. The suggested TFM is expected to shed new light on international technology valuation, by promoting international technology trades.
