Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate the effects of treatment of HIVD patients with lower back pain, lower limb radiating pain and restricted on SLRT by the Sa-Am acupuncture. Methods : From March 2010 to July 2010, thirty HIVD patients who admitted to Cheonan oriental medical hospital in Daejeon university were divided into two groups. Group I was treated by Sa-Am acupuncture Banggwangjeonggyeok and general acupuncture, Group II by general acupuncture. We evaluated the treatment effect of each group with the Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Oswestry Disability Index(ODI), SLR test, dividing two period(from admission day to third day after admission and from third day to sixth day after admission). Results : 1. Group I is more effective than Group II in early pain and reducing rate of pain. 2. Group I is more effective than Group II in ODI score reducing rate from admission day to third day after admission, but there was no significant difference between the two groups from third day to sixth day after admission. 3. Group I is more effective than Group II in early SLR test improvement rate. Conclusions : Sa-Am acupuncture Banggwangjeonggyeok on HIVD patients with lower back pain, lower limb radiating pain and restricted on SLR test was effective in reducing pain and improving SLR test.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Sa-Am spleen-tonifying acupuncture on radial pulse in healthy human subjects. Methods : Forty healthy human subjects participated in this study, divided into acupuncture group and control group. Radial pulse was measured by 3 dimensional pulse imaging system(DMP-3000) before, right after, 30 minutes after and 60 minutes after acupuncture in the acupuncture group. The subjects in the control group didn’t received acupuncture but took a rest and then the radial pulse was measured at the same time points as the acupuncture group. The parameters were analyzed by gender, measuring location, and measuring time point. However the time related parameters exceptionally were analyzed without distinction of measuring location. Results : 1. T, variance of period, T2/T, T4/T, (T-T4)/T, T4/(T-T4), and W significantly changed after acupuncture. 2. Pressure, amplitude of H1, amplitude of H2, Amplitude of H4 and pulse energy significantly changed after acupuncture. 3. Pulse area, systolic pulse area and diastolic pulse area significantly changed after acupuncture. 4. Elasticity, AIx and AIx/HR significantly changed after acupuncture. Conclusions : The effect of Sa-Am spleen-tonifying acupuncture in healthy human may be observed on time, amplitude, pulse area and augmentation index. Further studies on the effects of Sa-Am acupuncture using radial pulse are needed.
음곡 금전초약침이 LPS로 유도된 흰쥐의 신장염에 미치는 영향

Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate the effects of Desmodii herb pharmacopuncture (DH-HA) at KI_(10)(Umgok) on nephritis induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in rat. Methods : Rats were injected LPS to induce nephritis. DH-HA group was treated with DH-HA at KI10 three times for a week, NP group with 26 gauge needle, saline group with normal saline. To evaluate the effects of DH-HA at KI10 on nephritis in rats, RBC, WBC, neutrophil in blood, TNF-a, CINC-1 in serum, creatinine and total protein in urine, renal TNF-a, renal MPO were measured and renal tissue was analyzed. Results : WBC in blood, CINC-1 in serum, renal MPO significantly reduced in DH-HA group. Conclusions : DH-HA at KI_(10) is effective for nephritis in LPS-induced rats. Therefore, DH-HA at KI_(10) may be useful for nephritis in clinical field.
경제성 지표를 활용한 농업용저수지의 생활용수 공급가능성 평가

Existing agricultural reservoirs are considered as alternative source for the water welfare of rural area. In this study, domestic water supply potential of 476 reservoirs, which has storage capacity more than one million cubic meter, out of 3,377 agricultural reservoirs managed by Korean Rural Community Corporation (KRC) were investigated. Among them water quality of 136 reservoirs met the criteria of domestic water source which show less than COD 3 ppm. Available amount for domestic water of reservoirs, which meet the water quality, for ten year return period of drought was analyzed with reservoir water balance model. The results showed that 116 reservoirs has potential for supplementary domestic water supply while satisfying irrigation water supply. Finally, economic analysis using Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit–Cost (B/C) ratio, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Profitability Index (PI) methods was also conducted. The analysis showed that 19 reservoirs satisfied economic feasibility when water is provided from reservoir outlet but only 9 reservoirs meet the economic feasibility if water delivered from a reservoir to treatment plant by newly built conveyance canal. In order to supply the domestic water through the agricultural reservoirs managed by KRC, it is necessary to flexibly interpret and operate the ‘Rearrangement of Agricultural and Fishing village Act’. Also, it is reasonable to participate in the water service business when there is a supply request from other Ministries. In addition, the KRC requires further effort to change the crop system for saving water and improve efficiency of irrigation systems.
Daytime and Nighttime Photochemical Reactions of the Pure Oxygen System

Studies of photochemical reactions of the pure oxygen atmosphere are made using reaction rate constants and atmospheric data available in the latest literature. The daytime and nighttime variations in atomic oxygen and ozone are computed, based on three different conditions: 1) photochemical equilibrium, 2) direct integrations of the rate equations with modifications and approximation to the equations, and 3) by numerical integrations. The departure from the photochemical equilibrium concentrations during day and nighttime are discussed by comparing the results obtaind from the three conditions.
