        터널팬 샤프트 환기 방식에 따른 열 및 연기배출효과에 관한 연구

        지하철은 다른 구조물과 비교하여 화재발생 시 화재진압 및 인명구조에 본질적으로 취약한 구조적 특성을 내포하고 있다. 국내의 경우, 지하철 승강장 제연설비는 전용설비로 구축되어 있지 않고 화재발생 시 승강장환기설비 및 본선터널부의 환기설비를 제연모드로 절환하여 운영되고 있다. 제연효과는 이러한 까닭으로 환기설비의 위치, 용량 및 급배기방식에 종속된다. 본 연구에서는 지하철 승강장에서 열차 화재 발생 시, 승객의 안전한 대피로 확보가 가능한 선로부 환기기의 제연운전 효과의 실효성에 대한 검증을 목표로 한다. 따라서 지하승강장을 대상으로 승강장 내 기류해석 및 3차원 화재시뮬레이션을 수행하여 열차화재에 따른 승강장내 열 및 물질이동특성해석으로부터 선로부 배연운전모드에 따른 특성을 규명함으로서 승객안전성 확보에 목표를 둔다. Today's popular ventilation systems include the combined jet fans and electrostatic precipitation systems or the combined jet fans and vertical shaft system. Tunnels with these two ventilation systems applied have been designed and opened, more and more interest has been put in maintenance of a tunnel after opening. Therefore. it is to become more important to come up with the optimal operation mode and the method for the evaluation of ventilation system. In this study, to evaluate a tunnel ventilation and its economy, a dynamic simulation program was developed which can simulate the unsteady-state tunnel air velocity and concentration of pollutants according to the traffic flow variations and operation condition of a ventilation system. We clarified the effectiveness usage on tunnel ventilation by using it and also we could found the most economical ventilation operation mode by application in real exit tunnel. We obtained that combination of fan system and electrostatic precipitation system was more economical than jet fan priority operation mode.

        Investigation of EFL Teachers" Career and Motivation at Universities in Japan

        Motivation is one of the most popular topics on language teaching and learning. Many studies on language learning focus on students`` motivation; however, teachers`` motivation is easily overlooked in the area of the applied linguistics field. In this paper, the researcher presents a study to investigate how satisfied English teachers at private universities in Japan are with their work as English instructors. In this study, the researcher created questionnaires and conducted a survey of thirty English teachers at private universities in Japan. This study shows the perception and the degree of satisfaction in their jobs. The study vividly shows what the most significant obstacles are as well as approaches to solve the problems. The researcher asked participants what significant aspect of teaching is included in their personal teaching philosophy. The major question the researcher was looking for was the following: what the reward was, what obstacles existed, and what possible solutions were for the problematic aspects in the field. Overall, this study clearly provides the reader a clearer idea of what motivates teachers and how closely it is related to their productivity in their daily teaching.

      • Comparison of Two Different Smoke Extraction Schemes of Transversely Ventilated Tunnel Fire

        In case of tunnel fire, one of the most effective facilities to save lives is the smoke control system. In this study, two different smoke extraction schemes of transversely ventilated tunnel were compared. One is the smoke extraction using the fixed exhaust ports on the false ceiling to achieve the uniform and distributed smoke extraction (uniform exhaust). The other is that using the remote controlled smoke extraction where only vents close to the fire is opened whereas the others are closed to enhance the limitation of the smoke spread (localized exhaust). A number of numerical simulations were performed to find out the optimal smoke extraction rate at each smoke extraction scheme to allow the tunnel users to escape to the safe area without endangering their lives by smoke.

        Noncondensable gas's influence in waster vapor absorption accompanying interfa - cial disturbance into aqueous solution of LiBr

        흡수식 열펌프에서 폭 넓게 사용되고 있는 대표적인 냉매/흡수용액은 H₂O/LiBr 系이다. 그러나, LiBr 수용액의 점성계수는 LiBr의 농도가 커짐에 따라 증가하기 때문에, LiBr 수용액의 농용액 영역에서 물질확산계수가 감소한다. 이 결점을 보완하기 위해 흡수용액에 계면활성제를 첨가시키므로서 흡수를 촉진시키는 방식을 이용하고 있다. 계면활성제의 첨가에 의한 흡수용액의 열 및 물질이동 촉진에 관한 연구는 계면확성제 첨가농도에 의해 흡수용액의 표면상에서 계면활성제가 액적으로 존재하는 계면활성제 포화용해도 이상의 조건에서 발생하는 마랑고니대류가 효과적이다. 이 흡수촉진효과는 냉매증기의 흡수시 흡수용액표면상의 분포한 계면활성제와 흡수용액사이의 표면장력차에 기인하는 계면교란 현장에 기인한다. 그러나, 이 흡수촉진효과는 냉매증기의 흡수가 일어나는 홉수기 내부의 不안정상태, 즉, 불응축성가스(공기)가 존재하지 않는 조건하에서 이루어지며, 불응축성가스가 흡수촉진저하(열 및 물 질이동의 저하)에 기인하는 연구는 보고된 바 없다. 이러한 불응축성가스가 흡수기 내부에 존재할 때 계면교란의 거동 및 열 및 물질이동저하현상을 파악하기 위하여 계면활성제 농도변화(포화용해도 이상 및 이하의 두 조건)에 따른 증기흡수 실험 및 계면교란가시화 실험을 행하였다. 결과적으로 본실험을 통하여 불응축성가스가 수증기흡수에 끼치는 영향을 파악(계면교란의 악화) 첨가시의 흡수량과 不安定상태(불응축성가스가 존재시)의 증기흡수량의 비교에 의해 급격한 증기흡수저하가 不安定상태하에서 발생함으로서 불응축성가스가 흡수촉진효과(계면교란현상)을 저해시키는 결론을 얻었다. The aim of this research is to obtain a basic quantitative understanding of the effect of a noncondensable gas on the absorption of water vapor by a H₂O / LiBr combination with n-octanol as the surfactant. Nonflowing aqueous solutions of LiBr (40, 45,50 mass%) were exposed to saturated water vapor following the addition of an n-octanol surfactant (0.01 and 0.6 mass%). A small amount of a noncondensable gas (air) was allowed into the absorber (0.03 volume%) and its effect was analyzed by measuring the amount of water vapor absorbed. This study will cud to predict the performance of heat pump and safety operating condition when the noncondensable gas is not allowed in the absorber. The results indicate that, in the presence of small amounts of a noncondensable gas, vapor absorption enhancement ratios are less than half of those obtained under the same experimental conditions when a noncondensable gas is not present (1). The presence of a noncondensable gas causes the partial vapor pressure of air to increase at the vapor/ liquid interface, which results in an instability of vapor absorption rate and, hence, in an inhibition of interfacial disturbance.

        Effective Strategies to Enhance and Maintain University English Teacher Motivation in Japan

        This paper provides findings on a study which explored effective teacher motivation management strategies current university non-native EFL teachers in Japan utilize in their course of career. Teachers who have higher motivation can devote their lives more to give a lot to the learners and be productive on the education. Therefore, teacher motivation management is an essential issue to live a fruitful and productive life as an EFL teacher and researcher. In this study, six currently working Japanese university EFL teachers, three male three female, age ranges from 39 to 55 were interviewed individually on their teacher motivation strategy. Each teacher was asked how they manage their teacher motivation for teaching and research by reflecting back their whole career as a teacher and researcher. In this paper, twelve specific strategies were embedded from the data gathered by semi-structured interviews. The specific approaches are introduced along with quotes from the participants. The true aim on this study is to gain understanding of what kinds of teacher motivation management are utilized and give practical suggestions both for novice and experienced teachers simultaneously in order to contribute to the teacher education and development.
