      • Reliability Modeling and Analysis on Metallized Film Capacitors for MMC

        Yao Ran,Zheng Meimei,Li Hui,Lai Wei,Wang Xiao,Long Haiyang 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5

Metallized film capacitor’s (MFC’s) reliability directly affects the stable operation of MMC valve. Conventional reliability assessment method based on data statistics is limited. This paper studies the reliability modeling of MFC considering aging for the application condition of MMC valve. Firstly, the temperature field and electric field model of MFC is established, and the temperature and electric stress distribution are explored. Secondly, the lifetime model of MFC is established based on the electrical-thermal aging of dielectric films. Finally, the aging model of MFC is established from the aspect of equivalent series resistance. Results show that the aging rate of MFC increase with the service time going by, and increase sharply after 21 years. The failure rate of MFC is small at the beginning of operation, and there is a turning point in the 23rd year. Since then, the failure rate of MFC increases sharply. The lifetime of MFC is concentrated.

Thermo-optic Characteristics of Micro-structured Optical Fiber Infiltrated with Mixture Liquids

        Ran Wang,Yuye Wang,Yinping Miao,Ying Lu,Nannan Luan,Congjing Hao,Liangcheng Duan,Cai Yuan,Jianquan Yao 한국광학회 2013 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.17 No.3

We present both theoretically and experimentally the thermo-optic characteristics of micro-structured optical fiber (MOF) filled with mixed liquid. The performance of MOF depends on the efficient interaction between the fundamental mode of the transmitted light wave and the tunable thermo-optic materials in the cladding. The numerical simulation indicates that the confinement loss of MOF presents higher temperature dependence with higher air-filling ratios d/Λ, longer incident wavelength and fewer air holes in the cladding. For the 4cm liquid-filled grapefruit MOF, we demonstrate from experiments that different proportions of solutions lead to tunable temperature sensitive ranges. The insertion loss and the extinction ratio are 3~4 dB and approximate 20 dB, respectively. The proposed liquid-filling MOF will be developed as thermo-optic sensor, attenuator or optical switch with the advantages of simple structure, compact configuration and easy fabrication.

      • Review and Prospect of Anti-Americanism in the Middle East

Yao Jide,Ma Run,Ma Yuting 아시아사회과학학회 2021 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.3 No.2

Since the end of World War II, Anti-Americanism has emerged and permeated the international community as a kind of social and political ideological trend that negates the American government s foreign policy and its values. After the end of the Cold War, the anti-Americanism has been particularly prominent and presented a trend of continuous escalation in the Middle East. People and parts of the government in the area have strongly criticized the values advocated by the US. This western-style democracy, freedom, and equality are centered around the Anglo-Saxon culture. Anti-Americanism in the Middle East become a social ideological trend and behaviour with hatred to combat and protest against the American political system in hegemonic diplomacy, long-standing partiality for Israel, and double standards on human rights. Thus, a joint of terrorism activities of individuals and institutions has arisen constantly to aim at United States and its overseas relations. Anti-Americanism in the Middle East has a strong Islamic flavor. Religious extremists often distort religious teachings to mobilize society, and blind followers often resort to extremist activities or even terrorist acts. Anti-Americanism in the Middle East has its multidimensional roots. In the new era, after the upheaval of the Arab Spring, the agitation of the Islamic State and the implementation of the Trump administration s policy of America first with one axis and two wings (Liu, 2019) in the Middle East, the anti- Americanism in the Middle East is bound to continue to heat up and many changes may occur.

Fertility and prognosis assessment between bleomycin/etoposide/cisplatin and paclitaxel/carboplatin chemotherapy regimens in the conservative treatment of malignant ovarian germ cell tumors: a multicenter and retrospective study

        Ran Chu,Penglin Liu,Jingying Chen,Xiaodong Cheng,Kezhen Li,Yanci Che,Jianliu Wang,Li Li,Xi Zhang,Shu Yao,Li Song,Ying Zhao,Changzhen Huang,Ying Xue,Xiyu Pan,Junting Li,Zhongshao Chen,Jie Jiang,Beihua 대한부인종양학회 2023 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.34 No.2

Objective: To evaluate the impact of bleomycin/etoposide/cisplatin (BEP) and paclitaxel/carboplatin (PC) chemotherapy regimens on the fertility and prognostic outcomes in malignant ovarian germ cell tumor (MOGCT) patients who underwent fertility-sparing surgery (FSS). Methods: A propensity score matching algorithm was performed between the BEP and PC groups. The χ2 test and the Kaplan-Meier method were used to compare the fertility outcome, disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). The Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used to identify risk factor of DFS. Results: We included 213 patients, 185 (86.9%) underwent BEP chemotherapy, and 28 (13.1%) underwent PC chemotherapy. The median age was 22 years (range, 8–44 years), and the median follow-up period was 63 months (range, 2–191 months). Fifty-one (29.3%) patients had a pregnancy plan, and 35 (85.4%) delivered successfully. In the before and after propensity score matching cohorts, there were no significant differences in spontaneous abortion, selective termination of pregnancy, during-pregnancy status, and live birth between the BEP and PC groups (p>0.05). Fourteen (6.6%) patients experienced recurrence, including 11 (5.9%) in the BEP group and 3 (10.7%) in the PC group. Four (1.9%) patients in the BEP group died. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed no significant differences in DFS (p=0.328) and OS (p=0.446) between the BEP and PC groups, and the same survival results were observed in the after matching cohort. Conclusion: The PC regimen is as safe as the BEP regimen for MOGCT patients with fertility preservation treatment, and no differences were observed in fertility and clinical prognosis.

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using grape seed extract and their application for reductive catalysis of Direct Orange 26

        Ping Yao,Jun Zhang,Tieling Xing,Guo-Qiang Chen,Ran Tao,추광호 한국공업화학회 2018 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.58 No.-

This study focused on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using grape seed extract and their use for the catalytic degradation of a hazardous dye. The reaction temperature for the synthesis had great impacts to the properties of AgNPs and thereby, contributed to their activity for reductive decomposition of Direct Orange 26 by NaBH4. The elevated temperature made silver particles grow bigger and so reduced the effectiveness of surface catalysis. This was evidenced by the decrease in the reaction rate of AgNPs. The biosynthesis of AgNPs below 40 °C had no negative effect on the degradation of Direct Orange 26.

MondoA Is Required for Normal Myogenesis and Regulation of the Skeletal Muscle Glycogen Content in Mice

        Hui Ran,Yao Lu,Qi Zhang,Qiuyue Hu,Junmei Zhao,Kai Wang,Xuemei Tong,Qing Su 대한당뇨병학회 2021 Diabetes and Metabolism Journal Vol.45 No.3

Background: Skeletal muscle is the largest tissue in the human body, and it plays a major role in exerting force and maintaining metabolism homeostasis. The role of muscle transcription factors in the regulation of metabolism is not fully understood. MondoA is a glucose-sensing transcription factor that is highly expressed in skeletal muscle. Previous studies suggest that MondoA can influence systemic metabolism homeostasis. However, the function of MondoA in the skeletal muscle remains unclear. Methods: We generated muscle-specific MondoA knockout (MAKO) mice and analyzed the skeletal muscle morphology and glycogen content. Along with skeletal muscle from MAKO mice, C2C12 myocytes transfected with small interfering RNA against MondoA were also used to investigate the role and potential mechanism of MondoA in the development and glycogen metabolism of skeletal muscle. Results: MAKO caused muscle fiber atrophy, reduced the proportion of type II fibers compared to type I fibers, and increased the muscle glycogen level. MondoA knockdown inhibited myoblast proliferation, migration, and differentiation by inhibiting the phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN)/phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway. Further mechanistic experiments revealed that the increased muscle glycogen in MAKO mice was caused by thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) downregulation, which led to upregulation of glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4), potentially increasing glucose uptake. Conclusion: MondoA appears to mediate mouse myofiber development, and MondoA decreases the muscle glycogen level. The findings indicate the potential function of MondoA in skeletal muscle, linking the glucose-related transcription factor to myogenesis and skeletal myofiber glycogen metabolism.

      • 4-Hydroxynonenal Promotes Growth and Angiogenesis of Breast Cancer Cells through HIF-1α Stabilization

        Li, Yao-Ping,Tian, Fu-Guo,Shi, Peng-Cheng,Guo, Ling-Yun,Wu, Hai-Ming,Chen, Run-Qi,Xue, Jin-Ming Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.23

4-Hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) is a stable end product of lipid peroxidation, which has been shown to play an important role in cell signal transduction, while increasing cell growth and differentiation. 4-HNE could inhibit phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) activity in hepatocytes and increased levels have been found in human invasive breast cancer. Here we report that 4-HNE increased the cell growth of breast cancer cells as revealed by colony formation assay. Moreover, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression was elevated, while protein levels of hypoxia inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF-$1{\alpha}$) were up-regulated. Sirtuin-3 (SIRT3), a major mitochondria NAD+-dependent deacetylase, is reported to destabilize HIF-$1{\alpha}$. Here, 4-HNE could inhibit the deacetylase activity of SIRT3 by thiol-specific modification. We further demonstrated that the regulation by 4-HNE of levels of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and VEGF depends on SIRT3. Consistent with this, 4-HNE could not increase the cell growth in SIRT3 knockdown breast cancer cells. Additionally, 4-HNE promoted angiogenesis and invasion of breast cancer cells in a SIRT3-dependent manner. In conclusion, we propose that 4-HNE promotes growth, invasion and angiogenesis of breast cancer cells through the SIRT3-HIF-$1{\alpha}$-VEGF axis.

Deduction and exploration of the evolution and function of vertebrate GFPT family

        Wei Si-ang,Xu Ran,Ji Yu-yao,Ding Zhi-wen,Ding Zhi-wen 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.2

Background: Glutamine-fructose-6-phosphate aminotransferase (GFPT) is a key factor in the hexosamine metabolism pathway. It regulates the downstream factor O-GlcNAc to change cell function and plays an important role in the metabolism and immune process of tissues and organs. However, the evolutionary relationship of GFPT family proteins in vertebrates has not been elucidated. Objective: To deduce and explore the evolution and function of vertebrate GFPT family. Methods: 18 GFPT sequences were obtained from Homo sapiens (H. sapiens), Trachypithecus francoisi (T. francoisi), Mus musculus (M. musculus), Rattus norvegicus (R. norvegicus), Gallus gallus (G. gallus), Zootoca vivipara (Z. vivipara), Xenopus tropicalis (X. tropicalis), Danio rerio (D. rerio), Rhincodon typus (R. typus), Plasmodium relictum from National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). The physical and chemical characteristics and molecular evolution of GFPT family proteins and nucleic acid sequences were analyzed by ClustalX2, Gene Doc, MEGA-X, SMART, Datamonkey, R etc. RESULTS: Based on the neighbor-joining (NJ) phylogenetic tree and evolution fingerprints, GFPT family members of vertebrates can be divided into two groups: the GFPT1 group and the GFPT2 group. Seven positive selection sites were identified by IFEL and integrated methods mixed effects model of evolution (MEME) and fixed effects likelihood (REL). Finally, we predicted 28 phosphorylation sites and 18 ubiquitousness sites in the human GFPT1 sequence, 10 phosphorylation sites, and five ubiquitousness sites in GFPT2. Gene ontology (GO) analyzes the protein molecules and KEGG signaling pathways of vertebrates interacting with GFPT family proteins. Conclusions: Our work confirmed that higher animals GFPT family may have differentiated GFPT1 and GFPT2, which meets their own functional needs. This knowledge answers the question what the origin and evolution of GFPT family in vertebrates and provided the basis for disease treatment and function research of GFPT protein.
