        To object of this study was to analyze the effects of air pollution of industrial park to the environmental-ecology characterization in the Sa-Sang Park and the vicinity of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung. 6 transects(each size 400m2 were set up and surveyed each park. The relationships of the distribution of dominant groups for forest vegetation structure and the environmental condition between the Sa-Sang Park and the vicinity of South Gate San-Sung Amusement Park were analyzed by similarity index, frequencies of tree species, importance value, soil pH, SO2ㆍCOㆍNO2 and PM10 density of air and tree vitality. The results obtained were as follows, 1. For analysis of vegetation structure in the Sa-Sang Park, upperstory of forests was mostly consisted of Pinus thunbergii Parl and partly of Alnus japonica Steudel. In midstory, major components were Alnus japonica Steudel and partly of Pinus thunbergii Parl. In lower story Rhus sylvestris S. et Z, which was known to be resistant to air pollution, was found in large number. While the vicinity of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung has various species and stable forest vegetation, upperstory of forests was mostly consisted of Pinus rigida Mill and partly of Pinus densiflora S. et Z. Quercus serrata Thunb. Quercus mogolicα Fischer. Alnus hirsuta Rupr. In midstory, major components were Pinus rigida Mill and Alnus hirsuta Rupr. In lower story Rhododendron yedoense Maximowicz var. poukhanense(Le'v.) Nakai. and Rubus crataegifolius Bunge, Lespedeza bicolor Turcz. Similarity index in the Sa-Sang Park and the vicinity of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung was 42.31%. 2. Frequencies class of tree species were analyzed A(23.53%), B(17.65%),C(11.76%), D(5.88%), E(41.18%) in the Sa-Sang Park and A(29.41%), B(29.41%). C(23.53%), DC5.88%), E(11.77%) the vicinity of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung 3. Soil pH decreased to below pH 0.7 in the Sa~Sang Park as compared to pH 4.9in the vicinity of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung. In addition Water content decreased to below 7.7% in Sa~Sang Park as compared to 9.3% the vicilli앙 of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung. While SO2ㆍCO2 density of air and tree vitality were higher than those in the vicinity of South Gate in Mt. Geumjung. It is concluded that the Sa~Sang Park is only afraided to survive stronge tree species which resist to air pollution and decrease a function of city park in a few years that tree vitality of the Sa~Sang Park is higher than those in the vicinity of the South Gate in Mt.         C-reactive protein accelerates DRP1-mediated mitochondrial fission by modulating ERK1/2-YAP signaling in cardiomyocytes

        C-reactive protein (CRP) is an inflammatory marker and risk factor for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. However, the mechanism through which CRP induces myocardial damage remains unclear. This study aimed to determine how CRP damages cardiomyocytes via the change of mitochondrial dynamics and whether survivin, an anti-apoptotic protein, exerts a cardioprotective effect in this process. We treated H9c2 cardiomyocytes with CRP and found increased intracellular ROS production and shortened mitochondrial length. CRP treatment phosphorylated ERK1/2 and promoted increased expression, phosphorylation, and translocation of DRP1, a mitochondrial fission-related protein, from the cytoplasm to the mitochondria. The expression of mitophagy proteins PINK1 and PARK2 was also increased by CRP. YAP, a transcriptional regulator of PINK1 and PARK2, was also increased by CRP. Knockdown of YAP prevented CRP-induced increases in DRP1, PINK1, and PARK2. Furthermore, CRP-induced changes in the expression of DRP1 and increases in YAP, PINK1, and PARK2 were inhibited by ERK1/2 inhibition, suggesting that ERK1/2 signaling is involved in CRP-induced mitochondrial fission. We treated H9c2 cardiomyocytes with a recombinant TAT-survivin protein before CRP treatment, which reduced CRP-induced ROS accumulation and reduced mitochondrial fission. CRP-induced activation of ERK1/2 and increases in the expression and activity of YAP and its downstream mitochondrial proteins were inhibited by TAT-survivin. This study shows that mitochondrial fission occurs during CRPinduced cardiomyocyte damage and that the ERK1/2-YAP axis is involved in this process, and identifies that survivin alters these mechanisms to prevent CRP-induced mitochondrial damage.       • 상부 소화관 내시경으로 진단된 각종 위질환 10,770예에 대한 임상적 고찰

        A clinical analysis was carried out on 10770 cases who were examined by panendoscope in the department of internal medicine, Minjoong Hospital, Konkuk University from Jan. 1982 to Dec. 1990. The results obtained are as fellows; 1) Of the 10,770 cases, 5,419 cases were male, and 5351 were female. Their mean age was 39.7 years. 2) The most frequent endoscopic finding was gastritis(60.1%), followed by peptic ulcer disease(16.6%), gastric cancer(2.6%), gastric polyp(0.7%), duodenitis(0.6%), esophageal varix(0.4%) in order. 3) The mean age of gastric ulcer(45.7) was statistically higher than that of duodenal ulcer(37.5) (p <0.05). The ratio of male to female was 2.9 : 1 in gastric ulcer and 3.2 : 1 in duodenal ulcer respectively. 4) The male to female ratio of gastric caner was 1.8 : 1 and the mean age was 55.1 years. The most frequent type of advanced gastric cancer was type III (50.6%) according to Borrmann's classification. 5) In patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding, the most frequent endoscopic finding was duodenal ulcer (32.5%), followed by gastric ulcer (22.2%), hemorrhagic gastritis(14.5%), gastric cancer(12.8%), esophageal varix(10.3%), and Marrory-Weiss syndrome(3.4%) in order. In summary, gastrointestinal endoscopic examination was very useful method in the diagnosis of upper gastrointestinal tract disease.

      • 생쥐 소장의 interstitial cells of Cajal에서 ATP-민감성 K^(+)통로를 통한 향도잡이 전류의 조절

        Objectives: This study was performed to investigate whether ATP-sensitive K^(+) channels exist in interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) of mouse small intestine and the physiological role of ATP-sensitive K^(+) channels in gastrointestinal motility. Methods: ICC were isolated from mouse small intestine and cultured for 2 days. Electrical activities of ICC were recorded using the whole-cell patch-clamp technique at 30°C. Results: ICC displayed rhythmic slow waves and spontaneous inward currents (pacemaker currents). Pinacidil, an ATP-sensitive K^(+) channel opener, induced membrane hyperpolarization and decreased amplitude of slow waves in current clamping mode. Also, pinacidil inhibited amplitude and frequency of pacemaker currents and activated outward currents at a holding potential of -70 mV. Pinacidil effects on slow waves and pacemaker currents were blocked by glibenclamide, a specific blocker of ATP-sensitive K^(+) channel. Forskolin, an activator of adenylate cyclase, induced membrane hyperpolarization and inhibited pacemaker currents like as pinacidil and blocked by glibenclamide. Conclusions: These results suggest that ATP-sensitive K^(+) channels exist in ICC and may be play an important role in regulating gastrointestinal motility through the modulation of pacemaker activities of ICC.

        Nonstoichiometry, thermal stability and reactivity in static H2 atmosphere of perovskite-type La_(l-x)Sr_xBO_(3±y)(B=Fe, Ni) mixed oxides were investigated by means of temperature programmed reduction method and X-ray diffraction. Nonstoichiometry of these oxides was determined as following; LaFeO_3.05, La_0.9Sr_0.1FeO_3.0l, La_0.8Sr_0.22FeO_2.95, La_0.7Sr_0.3FeO_2.94, LaNiO_2.93, La_0.98Sr_0.02NiO_2.85, La_0.96Sr_0.04NiO_2.81. From the results of temperature programmed reduction, thermal stability of these perovskites relatively lowered than non-dopant according to the content (x values) of dopant(Sr^2+). According to the kinetic studies, it was revealed that the first and second step reductions in La_(1-x)Sr_xFeO_(3±y) (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) oxides and the first step reduction in LaFeO_3.05 oxide and La_(1-x)SrxNiO(3-y) (x=0, 0.02, 0.04) oxides were followed by Ginstling-Broushtein equation, indicating three dimensional diffusion of reactant. The third step reduction in La_(1-x)Sr_xFeO_(3±y) (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) oxides and the second step reduction in LaFeO_3.05 oxide were followed by contracting sphere model at reaction interface between reactant and product, and the second step reduction in La_(1-x)Sr_xNiO_(3-y) (x=0, 0.02, 0.04) oxides were fitted Avrami-Erofeev equation, indicating this step was controlled by formation and growth of reaction nuclei via the reaction interface.

        蜂毒(Apitoxin)이 흰 쥐의 Adjuvant 關節炎에 미치는 影響

        연구배경 : 봉독요법은 아직 보편화되지 못했으나 실제 임상에서 만성 관절염이나 염증질환에 많이 이용하고 있으며, 수천년전부터 민간요법으로 사용되어 왔다. 이에 봉독의 치료효과를 과학적으로 검증하고 치료기전을 밝혀 봉독요법의 활용에 도움이 되고자 한다. 방법 : 실험용 흰쥐에 Freun's complete adjuvant 액을 피하주사하여 관절염을 유발시키면서, apitoxin을 피하주사하여 부종률, 진통효과 및 소염작용을 측정한다. 결과 : 치료군에서 부종률이 억제되었고 WBC 및 혈청 cholinestrase의 활성도가 감소되었으며, 동통역치는 증가하였다. 결론 : 봉독요법은 소염, 진통에 뛰어난 효능을 가지고 있어 비증, 역절풍 및 통풍 등에 응용할 수 있을 것으로 사려된다. In order to study the effect of Apitoxin therapy on the Anti-inflammatary and Analgesic Action, Apitoxin therapy was administered on the Arthritis induced by Freund's complete adjuvant in rats. The obtainded results were summarized as follows. 1. Anti-inflammatory effect of Apitoxin therapy on the Anti-inflammatory action was showed statistical significance. The Sample A was more excellent on the decrease of edema and the number of WBC. 2. Analgesic Effect was showed with significance in sample A and B. Sample A was more excellemt in pain threshold, and B was more excellent in decrease of cholinestrase. According to the above result, it can be concluded Bee Vemom therapy showed the Anti-inflamentory and Analgenic Effect, and is suggest that the more interest, study in the secuity for the clinical use were neded.

      • 사회환경교육의 교육과정 표준화 모형 및 통합프로그램 개발연구

        This paper presents the development of standardized modules and an integrated program which will be used for social environmental education. The study objectives are to develop modules which are based on various environmental topics, to relate the regional environmental topics to the educational modules and program, and to include the demand of students in the modules and program. Literature and questionary surveys, as well as, module development method were utilized as research tools. The titles of developed modules are "The Green Plant Earth," "Unexpected Resources: Save Resources and Recycle", "Water as the Mother of All Lives", "The Blue Sky with Clean Air", and "Soil as the Home of All Living and Non-living Things". It is hoped that the developed modules and program are utilized as course materials and curriculum for social environmental education in various educational institutes. The study results will be materialized as multimedia in near futher.
