韓國兒童의 血淸鐵 및 鐵結合能에 關하여

韓國人 兒童(6才∼11才)의 血淸鐵, 不飽和鐵結合(UIBC) 및 總鐵結合能(TIBC)의 正常値를 調査하기 위하여 男兒34名과 女兒 34名을 對象으로하여 檢査한 結果는 다음과 같았다. 血淸鐵 : 男兒 135±30 (74-196)㎍/100㎖ 女兒115±34 (47-183)㎍/100㎖ UIBC 男兒 237±41 (155-319)㎍/100㎖ 女兒 225±46 (133±317)㎍/100㎖ TIBC : 男兒 366±32 (302-430)㎍/100㎖ 女兒 330±41 (248-412)㎍/100㎖ %Saturation : 男兒 37.1±8.0(21-53)% 女兒 34.6±11.9(21-59)% 以上의 値들은 成人의 그것과 比較해서 別 差異가 없었다. 그리고 大體的으로 女兒의 값이 男兒의 그것 보다 떨어지는 結果로 보였다. This paper has been caried out to determine the normal values for serum iron and iron binding capacity of Korean children, and to compare with that of adult men Non-festing blood specimens were collected from 34 males and 34 females in the morning (am. 9-10). Serum iron was estimated by the modified method of Barkan-Walker's, and the total iron binding capacity by Ramsay method. The results obtained were as follows: Serum iron: male 135-30ug 100ml (range; 74-196) female 115-34ug 100ml (range; 47-183) U.I.B.C. : male 237-41ug 100ml (range; 155-319) female 225-46ug 100ml (range; 133-317) T.I.B.C. : male 366-32ug 100ml (range; 302-412) female 330-41ug 100ml (range; 248-412) % Saturation:male 37.1-8.0% (range;21-53) gemale 34.6-11.9%(range;21-59) These normal values of children were no significant difference between that of adults which are reported by other investigators.

肝Glycogen 生成에의 放射性 Glucose 및 아미노酸의 利用에 대한 食餌의 영향

The rate of utilization of glucose or amino acids for liver glycogen synthesis was investigated in fed or 24-hour fasted albino rats weighing approximately 200g. Rats were administered intraperitoneally in a single dose of 4μCi of glucose-(U)-^14C with 100mg of glucose or amino acid mixture-^14C with 20mg of L-alanine per 100g body weight. Three hours later, the rats were sacrificed and the liver was analyzed for the determinations of glycogen content and activity of labeled carbon incorporated into the glycogen. The content of liver glycogen decreased from 1.2% of wet weight in the 24-hour fasted rats and remained low in the 72-hour fasted rats. In the fasted group, incorpration rate of glucose-(U)-^14C or amino acid mixture^-14C into liver glycogen was increased 2-or 4-fold, respectively, in compared with that of the fed group. And in the fasting state the incorporation rate of amino acid into liver glycogen was two-times higher than that of glucose. This result indicates that fasting stimulates glycogen synthesis in the liver from glucose and amino acids administered, and amino acid is to be more utilizable for the synthesis than glucose in the fasting state.

태아(胎兒) 간장(肝臟) 중의 저장철(貯藏鐵) 함량에 관하여

Present study concerns quantitative observation on non-hemin iron content and it`s fraction patterns in human fetal livers by mothods of Yoneyama-Konno and Bruckmann-zondeck. The materials were collected from 22 cases of human fetuses which range between 15 weeks and 38 weeks of gestation. The results of experiment are summerized as follow: 1. Mean value of non-hemin iron content in human fetal livers is 27.5 ± 2.74 ㎎%, and the range is 23―34 ㎎%. 2. Mean values and percentages of non-heminiron fractions in the same materials are as follow; P_1 (hemosiderin) fraction is 6.4± 0.89 ㎎%(23%) p_2 (ferritin) fraction is 14.3±1.45 ㎎%(52%) p_3 fraction is 4.4± 0.86㎎%(16%) S_3 fraction is 2.3± 0.55㎎%(9%) 3. In non-hemin iron and it`s fractions, no significant variation were observed through the period of fetal growth and sex.

總膽管給紮로 인한 肝및 血淸中의 乳酸脫水素酵素의 變動

This report was intened to characterized the change of serum and hepatic lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activities after the common bile duct was ligated. For these purpose albino rats of approximately 200g were subjected to the common bile duct ligation or sham operation and killed by collecting blood at 6, 24, 48 and 72 hour after, and the liver (0.2g) was homogenized in 5 times of the saline solution with a glass homogenizer followed by ultracentrifugation, and then the supernatant was used as a enzyme source. LDH activity was measured by the modified method of Caubaud-Blewski. With the bile duct of rats ligated, serum LDH activity was increased significantly and reached the maximum (about 5 times of the control level) after 24 hour and them decreased gradually. The level of hepatic LDH activity was also changed in proportion to the that of serum LDH, but was not showed remarkable increase the same as the serum. And those increases of the enzyme activity were inhibited by administration of actinomycin D.

肺纖維化 過程中 Collagen 및 Fibronectin의 遺傳子 發現과 Collagen 分劃의 變動

Bleomycin-induced lung damage is a well-characterized experimental model for studying pulmonary fibrosis. This model was used to examine α1(Ⅰ), α1(Ⅲ) procollagen and fibronectin mRNA levels and changes of collagen fractions during the development of pulmonary fibrosis. Rats were given 1 unit of bleomycin intratracheally and sacrificed at 4 days, 8 days, and then every week for 4 weeks. The lung tissue was assayed for collagen content by measuring total hydroxyproline content. Characteristics and specific increase of procollagen mRNAs and fibronectin mRNA were determined by northern blot and dot blot hybridization. There was a significant increase of hydroxyproline content of lung tissue following 2 weeks of bleomycin treatment. Northern blot analysis identified a major(5.3kb) and a minor (7.1kb) α1(Ⅰ) procollagen mRNA species and a single fibronectin mRNA species of 8.8kb in size. There was a significant difference among the three mRNAs in the relative increase and the time of maximum accumulation. While the accumulation of procollagen mRNAs was maximum between the 8 days and 14 days, that of fibronectin mRNA peaked in the first week after bleomycin treatment. The procollagen α1(Ⅰ) mRNA accumulated most dramatically(tenfold above the levels in the control lungs) compared with fourfold increases of mRNAs coding α1(Ⅲ) procollagen and fibronectin. In conclusion, specific increases in procollagen mRNAs in lung fibrosis precede increase of tissue collagen content. Type Ⅰ collagen may accumulate much more than type Ⅲ collagen, and the metabolism of tissue fibronectin may be perturbed during pulmonary fibrosis.

119구급대를 통한 서울지역 외상환자 진료체계에 대한 통계분석

Backgroud: Despite continous efforts to improve the prehospital trauma care system in Korea, the preventable death rate has been reported to be high. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prehospital trauma care system in Seoul by analyzing 119 rescue databases. Methods: The 119 rescue data bases of 22,275 trauma patients, who were transported to the secondary and tertiary hospital in Seoul by Seoul 119 rescue services from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2000, were analyzed. Results: The response time(mean 3.7 min.) showed no time, weekly, and regional variations. However, the transport time from field to hospital showed was high in the morning rush hour(7:00 to 10:00 am), and was gradually decreased and the lowest between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. There was also a regional variation in the transport time, which was short in the central area and long in the peripheral area of Seoul. Prehospital cares were given to the 10,999 trauma patients(49.4%). Of the 464 unresponsive patients(2%), only 236 patients were identified in transported hospitals. The outcomes of these unresponsive patients were DOA(54%), survival(19%), death in ER(14%), transfer to other hospitals(8%), and death after admission(5%) in order. Conclusion: We suggest that this study may be helpful to the establishment and improvement of the prehospital trauma care system as well as the determination of the adequate numbers and locations of trauma center in Seoul.

압전필름 작동기의 패턴최적화를 이용한 평면 음향방출기 설계

In this study, a design method for the flat sound radiator is developed to make new sound radiator system, whose shape is much thinner than that of conventional loudspeaker. Piezofilm(PVDF) is used as actuators of flat sound radiator. To prevent the distortion of sound, the frequency response of radiated sound to be flat is taken as the design objective. The electrode pattern and orientation angle of piezofilm actuator are optimized to satisfy the design objective. The formulation is based on the coupled finite element and boundary element method. Genetic algorithm is used in the optimization process, which is useful in the optimization of discrete design variables. It is noted that the frequency response with optimized piezofilm actuator is made flat enough to satisfy the design objective. For the enhancement of sound power, double-layered piezofilm actuators are also considered. The sound power with double-layered actuator becomes larger than that with single-layered actuator as expected.

당뇨병환자에서 뇨증 Fibronectin농도의 증가에 관한 연구

Plasma fibronectin is an α₂-glyoprotein, which is produced by vascular endothelial cells. Raised level of plasma fibronectin has been observed in diabetic patients particularly in the presence of microvascular complications. However, no available data exist about urine level of this glycoprotein in diabetic patients. We measured urine fibronectin level by ELISA methods in 54 diabetic patients who have microvascular comlications or not. The following results were obtained. 1) Urine fibronectin level(㎍/g creatinine) in diabetic group(1740.0±678.0) is increased compaired with those in normal control group(471.0±59.0). but this results were not significantly different among two groups(P>0.05). 2) Urine fibronectin level(㎍/g creatinine) was significantly increased in patients with nephropathy (6188.0±3144.0) compared with those in normal control group(471.0±59.0) and patients without nephropathy(645.0±251.0)(P<0.001). 3) There were a significant correlation between BUN, creatinine, creatinine clearance, 24hr urine total protein and urine fibronectin level in diabetic patients. Our data suggest that urine fibronectin excretion level might be used as a sensitive guide for diabectic nephropathy.
