소방 활동을 위한 웨어러블 인터페이스 디자인

현재 소방관들은 주로 무전기로 다른 소방관이나 중앙 지휘관과 통신을 하고, 필요 정보를 취득 혹은 공유 하면서 소방 활동을 수행 하고 있다. 소방 현장에서는 여러 가지 위험이 존재 하고 이를 극복하기 위해서 많은 정보를 필요로 할 때가 많지만, 이를 미리 모두 숙지 하고 있거나, 동적으로 변화 하는 상황을 무전기를 통하여 취득하고 이해 하기는 쉽지 않다. 이러한 어려운 점을 해소 하기 위하여 웨어러블 컴퓨터를 이용한다면 소방 활동을 도울 수 있을 것이며, 이에 적합한 웨어러블 인터페이스가 디자인 되어야 한다. 이 논문에서는 시나리오에 기반 한 인터액션 모델링, 화재 현장 및 소방 상황에서의 인간공학적 제한 조건, 사용자 설문조사, 그리고 인터페이스 패턴을 기반으로 소방 활동을 효과적으로 도울 수 있는 인터페이스 디자인 및 개발에 대하여 설명하고자 한다.

The Overexpression of Insulin-siRNA and Insulin Degrading Enzyme Decreases Insulin Levels In vitro and In vivo

Type 2 or noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus accounts for over 90% of cases and is characterized by a triad of resistance to insulin action on glucose uptake in peripheral tissues, impaired insulin action to inhibit hepatic glucose production, and dysregulated insulin secretion. To determine whether a transgene-based small interfering RNA (siRNA) for insulin and an overexpression of human insulin degrading enzyme (hIDE) decrease the insulin level in vitro and in vivo or not, several siRNA sequences and hIDE gene for insulin were overexpressed in the insulinoma cells and mouse via tail vein. The siRNAs for insulin suppression were very effective at the regions of 88-99 bp and 109-131 bp in rat insulin sequence. Insulin suppression by the specific siRNA sequences and hIDE significantly induced endoplasmic reticulumn (ER) stress and decreased insulin receptor a expression in insulinoma cells. The insulin level in plasma significantly decreased by overexpressions of the siRNAs and hIDE gene in mouse, which may be caused by the degradation of insulin due to overexpression of hIDE protein in mouse liver. These results suggest that this plasmid for the suppression of insulin secretion by the specific siRNAs and the insulin degradation by an overexpression of hIDE protein may be useful on the development of animal model for Type 2 diabetes.

Beta-Catenin and Leukemic Cell Apoptosis

Beta-catenin, which plays a critical role in both the cytoskeleton and in transcriptional regulation in various adherent cell types, undergoes degradation during adherent cell apoptosis. Although beta-catenin has been reported to be present in Jurkat T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells, the role of beta-catenin and its regulation in hematologic malignancies have not been examined. The data presented here demonstrate that treatment of the T cell leukemia Jurkat with the apoptosis inducers anti-Fas, TRAIL, staurosporin, and etoposide induced proteolytic cleavage of beta-catenin, as did TRAIL and staurosporin in U937 myeloblastic leukemia cells. In Jurkat cells, beta-catenin was cleaved at both the N- and C-terminus after anti-Fas. We observed strongly enhanced association of truncated beat-catenin with alpha-catenin and the actin cytoskeleton, in contrast to apoptotic adherent cells, in which beta-catenin association with alpha-catenin and actin is down-regulated during apoptosis. In Jurkat cells the interaction of beta-catenin with adenomatous polyposis coli protein and tubulin was down-regulated in response to Fas, further demonstrating a dramatic rearrangement of the T cell cytoskeleton. Down-regulation of beta-catenin-associated transcription was also an early event in response to anti-Fas. The data demonstrate that the organization of the cytoskeleton and its reorganization during apoptosis markedly differ in Jurkat cells and previously studied adherent cells. Furthermore, the data suggest that beta-catenin, which is not expressed in normal mature T cells, is integrally involved in organization of the Jurkat cytoskeleton, and that beta-catenin may play a role in promoting Jurkat survival.

Thyroid Nodule Requiring Thyroidectomy in a Patient with Thyroid Hemiagenesis

Thyroid hemiagenesis (TH) is a rare congenital disorder in which one lobe of the thyroid gland fails to develop. Since most patients experience no clinical symptoms, TH is typically diagnosed incidentally by taking imaging of neck region. In this paper, we report a case of right lobe TH associated with follicular neoplasm. A 65-year-old woman was referred for surgery for a left thyroid nodule, diagnosed as suspicious for follicular neoplasm on fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). In 2012, the patient underwent screening by neck ultrasonography and was incidentally diagnosed with right TH and a left thyroid nodule. The patient had routine follow up for the thyroid nodule and thyroid function tests, and she was diagnosed for subclinical hypothyroidism which did not require medicated until 2015. The patient took thyroid hormone medication for 2 years (2015-2017), until her thyroid hormone levels normalized. In 2021, follow up FNAB was performed on the left thyroid nodule, and cytologic evaluation revealed that the nodule was suspicious for follicular neoplasm. Preoperative computed tomography scan revealed an absence of the right thyroid gland and TH was incidentally diagnosed. Left thyroid lobectomy was performed on this patient, and during operation, neither of right thyroid gland nor isthmus were found. Post operatively, she was prescribed with levothyroxine medication for thyroid hormone replacement. The pathologic report revealed nodular hyperplasia with Hashimoto thyroiditis. Regular follow up and surveillance of patients with TH is recommended for the early diagnosis of other thyroid diseases.

한국 국가 이미지가 브랜드 아이덴티티 및 브랜드 태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향 -중국 소비자를 중심으로-

China is the biggest market for the Korean fashion industry. However, China is still difficult in regards to market entry and market success in China despite the geographical proximity. This study investigated the image of Korea and its impact on brand identity, brand attitude and intention to purchase with a focus on Chinese consumers in order to identify the variables of a country`s image that affect a consumer`s intention to purchase. The results of this survey targeted 214 Chinese consumers who were used for the final analysis. The survey subjects were female consumers in their 20s and 30s, living in metropolitan cities in China. Ex-ploratory factor, reliability and frequency analyses were conducted using SPSS 19.0; in addition, confirmatory factor and path analyses were administered with AMOS 18.0. We identified two general images of Korea (economy and culture), two images of Korean (stylish and friendly) and three Korean fashion-product related images (quality, design and prestige). The results of the structural equation model were as follows. 1) Economy factor exerted significant effect on quality and prestige. 2) Stylish factor exerted a significant effect on all of the Korean fashion product images (quality, design and prestige). Friendly factor exerted positive impact on prestige. 3) All of the Korean fashion product images significantly influenced brand identity. 4) Brand identity exerted a significant effect on brand attitude. Lastly, brand attitude significantly affected intention to purchase.

한국적 이미지 추구혜택에 따른 한국적 이미지 연상과 의복 선호

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of Korean image benefits sought on Korean image associations and Korean image preferences. The subjects are 668 male and female consumers who are residents in Seoul. The data are analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and chi-square test. The results are as follows. There are five kinds of Korean image benefit sought: impression improvement/fashion orientation, individuality, Korean image expression, brand, and comfort. Korean image association consist of five factors of traditional culture, current societal image, traditional spirit, sports, and Korean wave. Korean image clothing evaluative criteria consist of function, size/color, design, and advertisement/brand. Korean style preference has three factors of daring/showy, active/simple, and elegant images. The store evaluative criteria has service, brand/entertainment, and convenience factors. The subjects are categorized into three groups by Korean image benefit sought. The three groups are different in regard to Korean image association, Korean image clothing evaluative criteria, Korean style preference, store evaluative criteria, and purchase intention. The consumers who seek benefit of impression improvement and individuality prefer daring/showy image, and consider design as an important evaluative criterion, and have an intention to purchase the clothing with Korean image.

Development of ICT training program to improve primary school classroom teaching

본 논문의 목적은 교사연수 때 ICT 활용이 어떻게 교실 수업을 개선할 수 있는가 하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위해서 문헌 분석을 하였으며, ICT 활용은 접근성의 문제, 역량과 방법적인 면에서 효과적인 ICT 활용에 대해 조사하였다 구체적으로는 ICT 활용과 접근성을 확대하기 위한 이론과 패다고지를 분석하였다. 특히 본 논문의 결과는 ICT 활용교육이 절실히 필요한 고사연구과정에서 어떻게 ICT활용 교육과정을 도입하고 최소한의 ICT 기기를 활용한 최대효과에 검토하여, 문헌조사 결과를 기반으로 열악한 ICT 환경을 고려한 교사교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. The purpose of this study is (1) to identify the different ways of training and implementation of ICT to improve classroom teaching, and (2) to develop and infuse teacher training programs with scarce ICT resources. For the study, we have researched and analyzed literatures from different sources that has been written about ICT and teacher training programs. It focused particularly at attributes like, access, competence, and pedagogy and basic skills needed for someone to effectively use ICT when teaching. With the literature review, the result of this study developed a Teacher Professional Development (TDP) program that can be used to train In-service teacher trainers with scarce resources to maximize utilization of ICT facilities. The implication of this study will provide a mixture of on-computer and off-computer sessions for efficient training sessions for countries such as Uganda.

SNS에서의 사회비교에 따른 자기인식, 방어기제 그리고 커뮤니케이션 효과

Purpose This paper analyzes the impact of social comparisons occurring within SNS on user’ self-awareness, defense mechanism, and communication effects based on the social comparison theory. Design/Methodology/Approach We used the data of 400 respondents who has more than one SNS account living in the capital area of Korea. SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 18.0 were used for analysis. Findings As a result of the study, there were two factors of comparisons occurring within SNS: upward comparison and lateral comparison. Both have significant influences on user’ self-consistency. However, these two comparisons differed in the influence on self-satisfaction and self-esteem. Only the lateral comparison affected both self-satisfaction and self-esteem. In the results of hypothesis testing with self-awareness and defense mechanisms, it was partially supported. In particular, self-satisfaction had a negative effect on defense mechanisms. Finally, the result of verifying the effect of defense mechanisms on communication effects, all defense mechanisms affected brand awareness. However, looking at the relationship between defense mechanisms on brand attitude and purchase intention, idealization has been shown to affect both, and identification has affected purchase intention only. Research Implications Unlike prior studies on social comparisons which mainly focused on face-to-face situations, this study was conducted based on non-face-to-face situations. It could help to look at consumers that have changed since COVID-19. In addition, the impact on communication effectiveness has been recognized, so it will be practically applicable to marketing in an online environment.
