<P>This study investigated the feasibility of the Infrared (IR) sensor-based walking aids for detecting the gait intention. To compensate for the defects of Force Sensing Resistors (FSRs) or force sensors, such as the velocity control problem on gait slopes, we used IR sensors to investigate knee joint anterior displacement in order to recognize the gait intention. We also measure leg muscle activities and foot pressure, in order to verify our investigation. We placed two IR sensors on the rollator center to sense left and right leg walking intentions. We took EMG signals of four leg muscles, and analyzed them. Foot pressure analysis parameters were the measured force and mean pressure. We conducted experiments on twenty young healthy adults. The results show that knee joint anterior displacement increases according to gait slope and velocity. We confirm similar results of knee joint anterior displacement through the IR sensors.</P>

<P>The impact of process-induced random dopant fluctuation (RDF)-induced threshold voltage (Vth) variation on the performance of 7-nm n-type germanium (Ge) FinFETs with and without a metal-interlayer-semiconductor (MIS) source/drain (S/D) structure is investigated using 3-D TCAD simulations. In order to reduce the RDF-induced Vth variation, an MIS S/D structure with a heavily doped n-type zinc oxide (ZnO) interlayer is used in the S/D region of the Ge FinFET. Thus, without performance degradation, the Ge FinFET with an MIS S/D structure achieves approximately threefold reduction in the RDF-induced Vth variation (versus without an MIS S/D structure). The impact of various fin parameters (i. e., fin height and fin width) on the RDF-induced Vth variation is also investigated. It is noteworthy that variation is suppressed as the fin height (fin width) increases (decreases).</P>
중노년기 민족귀환이주민의 건강위기: 경기도 A지역 중국조선족 출신 이주민의 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 경기도 A지역을 중심으로 1980년대 중후반부터 한국에 이주하기 시작하여 현재 중노년기에 접어들었거나 2000년대 중반 동포 관련 법 제도 개선 이후 노년기에 국내에 입국한 중국조선족 출신 이주민의 건강상태를 의학적 조사 및 심층인터뷰를 통해 파악하고자 했다. 또한 이를 토대로 이들이 겪은 신체적, 정신적 고통의 생애사적 맥락과 사회문화적 발생요인을 규명함으로써 이러한 요인들이 이들의 생존과 건강에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 분석해보고자 했다. 94명을 대상으로 한 의학적 조사결과 44.7%가 혈관경직도에 이상이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 정신건강 설문조사 결과에서는 고령일수록 심한 우울감 증상을 보이고 있으며, 21.8%가 불안장애 수준을 나타냈다. 또한 가구소득이 적을수록 우울감, 불안감, 혈압이 더 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이들 중 건강상태가 좋지 않은 순으로 9명을 선별하여 심층인터뷰 조사를 한 결과, 이들은 1990년대 이후 젊은 나이에 결혼이민자와 산업연수생 등으로 한국에 민족귀환 이주한 사례로 이주 이후 경제적 빈곤의 지속, 법과 제도의 미비로 인해 건강이 점차 취약해지는 ‘건강한 이주자 효과’가 나타났다. 또한 이들은 독특한 말투나 출신 지역에 대한 차별, 다문화가정에 대한 편견 및 낙인화가 지속되면서 현재까지도 소속감과 정체성 혼란을 겪고 있다. 한편 2000년대 중반 이후에는 재외동포 관련 법 제도가 개선되면서 노년의 중국조선족 출신 이주민이 증가하고 있으며 ‘병든 이주자 효과’가 나타나고 있다. 그러나 이들의 건강 역시 거주국의 편견과 차별로 인해 시간이 지나면서 더욱 악화될 가능성이 있다. 결론적으로 현재 중노년기에 들어선 중국조선족 출신 이주민은 향후 종족차별에 더해진 연령차별의 문제를 경험할 수 있으며, 이로 인해 건강이 점차 취약해질 가능성이 있다. 따라서 이주민의 고령화에 따른 삶의 질 향상을 위한 근본적인 해결책이 마련되어야 함을 역설하였다. This study aimed to find out the health status and socio-cultural context of middle-aged and elderly Korean-Chinese migrants in A area who started migrating to Korea in the mid-late 1980s and migrated Korea in the mid-2000s after the improvement of the overseas Koreans-related legal system. Based on this, we tried to analyze how experiential factors that occur in the life course of migrants affect their survival and health by examining the nature of structural oppression and violence inherent in the physical and mental suffering they experienced. As a result of the medical survey, 44.7% of Korean-Chinese migrants in A area had abnormalities in arterial stiffness. According to the results of the mental health survey, the older the person, the more severe the symptoms of depression, and 21.8% of them showed the level of anxiety disorder. In addition, it was analyzed that the lower the household income, the higher the depression, anxiety, and blood pressure. In an in-depth interview, the ‘healthy migrant effect’ was found in that Korean-Chinese ethnic returned to Korea as marriage immigrants and industrial trainees at a young age after the 1990s, and their health gradually deteriorated due to the continued low economic status and inadequacies in laws and systems. In addition, psychological pain due to confusion in their sense of belonging and identity is increasing as they continue to be discriminated against according to their unique tone of voice, region of origin, and prejudice and stigma against multicultural families. Meanwhile, since the mid-2000s, as the legal system related to overseas Koreans has been improved, the number of elderly Korean-Chinese migrants has been increasing, and the ‘sick migrant effect’ is emerging. However, their health is also likely to deteriorate over time due to prejudice and discrimination in the host country. In conclusion, middle-aged and elderly Korean-Chinese migrants may experience ageism in addition to ethnic discrimination in the future, and this may lead to their health becoming increasingly vulnerable. Therefore, it is necessary to find a fundamental solution to this.

Purpose: This research suggests a method of establishing criteria for working area and operating cost for a long-term lease of agricultural machinery. Methods: Eight crops were selected-three food crops and five open-field vegetables-and agricultural machines used for sowing, transplanting, and cultivation in dry-field farming were analyzed. Results: The break-even acreage for agricultural machinery under a long-term lease was found to differ by agricultural machine, ranging from 1.0 to 5.8 ha. In terms of arable land area, the break-even acreages for harvesting machinery and transplanters were 15.6 to 26.1 ha and 6.1 to 8.6 ha, respectively. The working area lessees should secure was divided into two cases: (1) 2.0 to 11.6 ha when leasing individual agricultural machines (sowing and transplanting) for a long-term period, and (2) more than 10 ha when farmers who cultivate beans, potatoes, garlic, onions, and so on lease sowing and transplanting machines as a set. When agricultural machinery was leased for a long term, the operating cost and working time were reduced by 27.6 to 74.4% and 2.5 to 21.6%, respectively, indicating considerable effect. Conclusions: A long-term lease project needs to be promoted to overcome the limitation of short-term leases of agricultural machinery. The local government should lead this project and facilitate the mechanization of dry-field farming. The department in charge of agricultural machinery lease projects needs to set the working area to cover the rate and maintenance cost for farmers who lease agricultural machinery for the long term.
