의학전문대학원 학생들의 학업성취도 분석 - 개인적 특성 및 입학전형요소를 중심으로 -

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the academic achievement of the first year medical students at Gachon University of Medicine and Science based on their characteristics (i.e. age, gender, and academic degree types (bachelors/masters), field of major (biology/ non-biology), and admission variables (i.e. MEET, GPA, attitude, interview, and English test). Methods: The admission scores and demographic information were obtained from 39 students who had entered the university in 2005. T-test was used to examine the differences in academic achievement according to the students characteristics. Correlations between admission variables and academic achievements were examined while multiple regression analysis was used to decipher the influence of students characteristics and admission variables on the academic achievements. Results: This study showed that the academic achievements differed significantly depending on degree level, age, and field of study, but not gender. It was also found that both the Nature Science Reasoning (NSR) of MEET subscale score and GPA score correlated significantly with academic achievement in the first year students. Attitude, interview, and English test scores did not correlate significantly. The result of the multiple regression analysis revealed that NSR 1 and 2, field of major, and age accounted for a substantial amount of the variance in academic achievement. Conclusion: Students with higher scores in NSR 1 and 2 who majored in biology-related fieldsand who are younger tend to do better academically in their first year of medical school. The results of this study may be helpful to graduate medical schools in designing effective admissions strategies for recruiting students, as well as, in planning the curriculum to improve the academic achievements of medical students.
의예과 학생들의 기본적 심리욕구, 대인관계 지향성과 심리적 안녕감 간의 구조적 관계

본 연구는 의대생을 대상으로 기본적 심리욕구, 대인관계 지향성, 심리적 안녕감 간의 관련성과 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 요인 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하였다. 2017년 11월 수도권, 경상권, 전라권에 위치한 3개 대학에 재학 중인 의과대학의 의예과 1학년 학생 155명을 대상으로 하였다. 기본적 심리욕구 검사(17문항), 대인관계 지향성 검사(54점), 심리적 안녕감 검사(38문항)를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석을 위해 기술통계, 비모수 검정 wilcoxon signed Ranks test와 Friedman test를 실시하고, 심리적 안녕감에 직·간접적으로 영향을 주는 변인들 간의 가설적 경로모형을 설정하고 적합도를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 자율성, 유능감, 관계성의 기본적 심리욕구는 심리적 안녕감에 직접적으로 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 이중에서 자율성, 관계성 욕구는 기대행동을 매개로 심리적 안녕감에 간접적으로도 영향을 미쳤다. 기대행동이 심리적 안녕감에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 총효과는 자율성이 .35로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 의대생들의 심리적 안녕감을 지원할 수 있는 보다 구체적인 프로그램과 지도방안을 마련하는데 기초자료를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship between the basic psychological needs, fundamental interpersonal relations orientation behavior, and psychological well-being of medical students. This study was conducted to 155 students from medical schools attending three universities in november 2017. The questionnaire was conducted using basic psychological needs(17 items), interpersonal relations orientation (54 items), and psychological well-being (38 items). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, wilcoxon signed ranks test and Friedman test, and path analysis. As a result, the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness directly affected the psychological well-being. Among these, autonomy and relatedness indirectly influenced psychological well-being through wanted behavior. Wanted behavior was directly related to psychological well-being. The total effect on psychological well-being was the highest at .35 for autonomy. This findings may help to provide specific programs and guidance to support the psychological well-being of medical students.
의대생의 인성과 환자안전태도와의 관계에서 학습윤리의식의 매개효과

본 연구에서는 의과대학생들을 대상으로 인성과 학습윤리의식, 환자안전태도 간의 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그리고 인성과 환자안전태도간의 관계에서 의과대학생의 학습윤리의식이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 부산과 경기권에 위치한 2개 의과대학에 재학 중인 학생 560명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여, 최종 430명(회수율 76.8%)이 응답하였다. 대학생용 인성검사, 의과대학생의 학습윤리의식검사, 환자안전태도검사가 시행되었으며, 결과 분석은 SPSS 21.0과 AMOS 21.0을 활용한 상관분석과 구조방정식 모형 분석을 하였다. 그 결과 환자안전태도, 학습윤리의식, 인성 간에는 의미 있는 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 그리고 인성이 환자안전태도에 미치는 영향에서 학습윤리의식의 매개효과가 나타났다. 환자안전태도를 갖춘 ‘좋은 의사’를 양성하기 위해서는 인성과 학습윤리의식의 포괄적인 범위의 교육이 이루어져야 할 필요가 있다. 또한 의과대학에서 학습윤리 교육을 강화하는 것은 인성이 환자안전태도로 발현되는데 중요한 역할을 하게 될 것이다. 본 연구결과는 이후 향후 의과대학생을 위한 환자안전역량 교육 프로그램 개발의 기초적 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between personality, learning ethics consciousness, and patient safety attitude among medical students. And we wanted to reveal how the learning ethics consciousness of medical students affect the relationship between personality and patient safety attitude. A survey was conducted on 560 students attending two medical schools located in Busan and Gyeonggi Province, and the final 430 (76.8% of the collection rate) responded. A personality test for college students, medical students attitudes towards academic misconduct test, and a patient safety attitude test were conducted. The result analysis was performed with correlation and structural equation model analysis using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. The results showed meaningful positive correlation between patient safety attitude, learning ethics consciousness, and personality. And the mediated effect of learning ethics consciousness was shown in the effect of personality on patient safety attitude. In order to develop a good doctor with patient safety attitude, a comprehensive range of education needs to be provided for personality and learning ethics. Strengthening learning ethics education in medical schools will also play an important role in the development of personality as a patient safety attitude. The findings could later be used as a basic data for the development of patient safety competency education programs for future medical students.

본 연구의 목적은 통합건강증진사업을 담당하는 전문인력의 감정노동, 직무스트레스, 조직지원인식과 직무만족도 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하는 것이다. 연구대상은 인천시 보건소에 근무하는 통합건강증진사업 전문인력 126명이었다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 26.0과 AMOS 23.0 프로그램을 사용하여, t-test, ANOVA, 상관관계, 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였다. 감정노동은 연령과 결혼 유무에 따라(p<.05), 직무스트레스는 종교 유무에 따라(p<.01), 직무만족도는 경력, 종교와 결혼 유무에 따라(p<.01) 차이가 있었다. 감정노동이 직무만족도에 미치는 간접효과는 -0.315였고, 직접효과는 나타나지 않았다. 직무스트레스가 직무만족도에 미치는 간접효과는 -0.288, 직접효과는 -0.228이었다. 조직지원 인식이 직무만족도에 미치는 직접 효과는 -0.507이었다. 본 연구는 통합건강증진사업 전문인력의 직무만족도 증진을 위한 대안과 중재 프로그램을 개발하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship between emotional labor, job stress, perceived organizational support and job satisfaction for the health promotion program personnel. The subjects were 126 in charge of the health promotion program. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 23.0 for the independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and structural equation modeling. There were significant differences in emotional labor by age and marital status (p<.05), job stress by religion (p<.01) and job satisfaction by career, religion and marital status (p<.01). The indirect effect of emotional labor on job satisfaction was -0.315, and no direct effect was found. The indirect effect of job stress on job satisfaction was -0.288, and the direct effect was -0.228. The direct effect of perceived organizational support on job satisfaction was -0.507. These results can be used as baseline data to develop alternatives and intervention programs to enhance job satisfaction.
한국 의과대학·의학전문대학원의 전문직 간 교육 현황과 요구 분석

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of interprofessional education (IPE) and the efforts required to promote, popularize, and implement it in Korea. The IPE status of 40 medical colleges was investigated using a survey with questions regarding the details of IPE, the future plans and necessary support required, and the reasons for not implementing IPE. Thirty-two medical colleges responded, of which 10 are implementing or have implemented IPE. Most of these colleges started IPE in 2018, and the duration of IPE was less than 9 hours. All medical colleges held classes with nursing students. As for the type of IPE, there were independent courses for IPE, one-time special lectures, or partial sessions in one course. Lectures, discussions and presentations, role playing, and high-fidelity simulations were mainly used as educational methods. The support and interest of the dean was the most important facilitating factor. No medical colleges were currently preparing to implement IPE, four colleges had planned IPE but failed to implement it, and 16 had no plans for IPE at all. All medical colleges cited scheduling or cooperation with other majors as the most significant barrier. All the colleges listed their requirements for educational materials, cases, guidelines, and teaching and learning methods for IPE from external institutions. To activate IPE, it is necessary to create an appropriate atmosphere and conditions for developing IPE competencies and a model suitable for the domestic situation. External medical education support organizations should distribute IPE development guidelines and educational materials, form a network between medical colleges with IPE experience, and make efforts to promote the importance of IPE.
가천대학교 의과대학 졸업 후 진로지도 프로그램 설계와 운영

The ultimate goal of career guidance is to help medical students develop a career plan that matches their personal characteristics, allows them to train in their desired subspecialty, and helps them to adapt well to medical practice after graduation. Gachon Medical School has designed a longitudinal career guidance program called GLORI (Gachon Longitudinal Orientation and Career Development), which is based on the outcome of each phase. The program consists of regular courses and portfolio-based career guidance from a mentor professor. In phase 2 (basic medical science), the "Career Seminar" course was developed. This course focuses on self-understanding through a psychological inventory, exploration of postgraduate career paths, and interviews with professors in specialties of interest. In phase 3 (the integration of basic and clinical science), the "Exploring Nonclinical Career Options" course was introduced. This course presents perspectives from doctors who have followed various pioneering career trajectories, including biomedical engineering, medical journalism, writing, public health, health care administration, the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and other areas. All teaching methods were designed to encourage student participation. The assessment methods are assignment-based, including self-reflective reports and presentations. In addition, a portfolio-based career guidance program is implemented in phases 3 and 4 (clinical clerkship). It is expected that this case study will serve as a practical example for developing comprehensive career guidance programs for medical schools.

Background : Emergency physicians are increasingly participating in brain-death organ tissue donation (OTD). It is difficult communication to inform family members about suspected brain-death and potential donor. This study sought to explore the experiences and communication of emergency physicians in brain-death OTD. Methods : This is a qualitative study that interviewed 10 experienced emergency physicians with brain-death OTD and analyzed the data by thematic analysis method. Results : The study revealed 20 subthemes and 5 themes; 1) Families who are invited to donate organs make decisions after long periods of consideration by the entire family, 2) It is uncomfortable to recommend organ donation, 3) Explaining and obtaining consent is ‘the hardest job’ for the attending physician, 4) The way the attending physician does ‘the hardest job’ is by explaining, 5) Passively solicit donation. Conclusion : The experienced emergency physicians with brain-death OTD were using methods of communication to understand and sympathized with the family members and had abundant experiences. The findings of this study will help inexperienced emergency physicians with brain-death OTD.

의예과 학생을 대상으로 한 팀워크 향상 프로그램의 효과

Background: The purpose of this study is to conduct a teamwork program for pre-medical students using a table-top simulation game called Friday Night at the ER®, and to investigate the effect. Methods: This is a one group pretest-posttest design study 34 students. The tools were understanding of interpersonal relationships (11 questions), problem-solving initiative (8 questions), and system thinking (20 questions) were used. Satisfaction with the program was investigated, and a self-reflection essay was written. For the analysis, paired t-test, frequency analysis, and content analysis were used. Results: After participating in the program, interpersonal understanding, proactivity in problem-solving, and systems thinking all significantly improved (p<.001), and the effect size of the program was also above medium (Cohen’s d= 0.580∼1.019). As a result of analyzing the contents of the self-reflection journal, it was classified into 7 themes and 3 categories; Teamwork competency, systems thinking skills, interpersonal skills. Students were generally satisfied with the program. Conclusion: The simulation game-based teamwork program was effective in improving students’ teamwork. These results can be used as basic data for medical schools designing such programs.
보건소 통합건강증진사업 담당자의 현업적용도에 영향을 미치는 변인의 구조적 관계

본 연구의 목적은 보건소 통합건강증진사업 담당자를 대상으로 참여동기, 성취동기, 교육성취도, 교육만족도, 현업적용도의 구조적 관계를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 인천광역시 통합건강증진사업지원단 직무교육에 참여한 115명을 대상으로 참여동기, 성취동기, 교육성취도, 교육만족도, 현업적용도에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 현업적용도에 직 · 간접적으로 영향을 주는 요인들 간의 가설적 경로 모형을 설정하고 모형의 적합도를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 40대에서 현업적용도가 유미하게 높았으며, 경력에 따른 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 내재적 동기와 개인지향 성취동기는 현업적용도에 직접적으로 영향을 미치거나 교육만족도를 매개로 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 교육만족도는 교육성취도와 현업적용도에 직 · 간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 현업적용도 향상을 위해 참여자의 동기와 교육만족도를 높이기 위한 방안을 마련할 필요가 있다. 이러한 연구 결과는 통합건강증진 담당자의 현업적용도를 높이기 위한 교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 기초자료를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship of variables affecting application of job training in the Integrated Public Health Promotion Program Personnel(PHPPP); intrinsic motivation, individual oriented achievement motivation, achievement and satisfaction of program. The subjects were 115 IPHPPP who participated in job training program of Incheon City Integrated Health Promotion Support Team. Data were collected using a structure self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed by a ANOVA, correlational analysis, and path analysis. As a result, the application of job training was high in the 40s. There was no significant difference in each variable by job application. Application of job training was positively correlated with intrinsic motivation, individual oriented achievement motivation, achievement and satisfaction of program. Further, Application of job training was directly by intrinsic motivation, individual oriented achievement motivation, and indirectly by satisfaction of program. Satisfaction of program was directly or indirectly influenced by achievement and application of job training. This showed that satisfaction of program play an important role in application of job training. Increasing the motivation and satisfaction of the participants is necessary as a way to increase application of job training. This findings may help to design educational programs to improve application of job training for IPHPPP.
