A spent nuclear fuel cask should safe in the case of most severe accident loading during transportation. Therefore, in order to verify the integrity of the shipping cask manufactured by doosan heavy industries for the first time in Korea, rapid loading K1C tests has performed as material property evaluation. In this paper, the dynamic fracture toughness obtained by rapid loading K<SUB>IC</SUB> tests is discussed. The procedure of the integrity evaluation of the shipping cask is as follow: First, the maximum flaw size for the full area of forging product of the shipping cask is measured by nondestructive examination. Second, the dynamic fracture toughness test is carried out at -40℃. Third, FEM is performed for the model of the shipping cask with the maximum size flaw measured by NDE under seismic loading. Finally, the integrity of the shipping cask is evaluated by comparing maximum stress intensity factor calculated by FEM with dynamic fracture toughness measured by the experiment. In the integrity evaluation, our company has carried out nondestructive examination and dynamic fracture toughness test, and GNB Company in Germany has carried out FEM analysis. From the evaluation, the integrity of shipping cask was confirmed.

To understand the current status of neonatal surgery in Korea, a survey was made among the 36 members of the Korean Association of Pediatric Surgeons. The response rate was 75 % (26 surgeons in 20 hospitals). Five hundred fifty three neonatal surgical patients treated in 1999 were analyzed. Regional numbers of patients were closely related to the regional population in most areas. Ano-rectal malformations (17 %), pyloric stenosis (16 %), Hirschsprung's disease (13 %), atresia/stenosis of the gut (11 %), esophageal atresia (8 %) were the most common anomalies treated. The majority of operations were done within the first week of life. Seventy one per cent of cases were major life threatening or so-called neonatal index cases. Over-all mortality was 8 per cent. Higher mortality was observed in patients with diaphragmatic hernia (26 %), gastro-intestinal perforation (18 %), NEC (18 %), and esophageal atresia(14 %). Higher mortality was observed in patients with extremely low birth weight (33%) and low birth weight (18 %). Associated anomalies were observed in 20 %. Prenatal ultrasound was performed in 36 per cent with sensitivity of 20 %. Result of this study was compared to the previous report (1994) and that of Japan (1998).

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of muscular power by COP(center of pressure) training according to the angle variation of tilting bed. We changed the angles of tilting bed(up-down direction 0°, 15°, 30°, 45° and right-left direction -15°, 0°, +15°) for the correlation between angles and muscular power. And we measured EMG(electormyography) of lower limbs muscle(rectus femoris, biceps femoris, and gastrocnemius, tibialisa anterior) during COP training. COP training was divided by the COP trace training(in all direction) and sine wave trace training(vertical and horizontal direction). As the result, we obtained the improvement effect of COP training and we showed that electromyography(EMG) variations of lower limbs muscle on the angle variations of tilting bed were investigated.

OpenMP is becoming more and more useful as a simple parallel processing paradigm on SMP (Shared Memory Multi-Processors) computing environment with the development of multi-core processors. However, very few data is available publically regarding the OpenMP performance in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). In the present study a CFD test suite is prepared for the performance evaluation of OpenMP on various multi-core systems. The test suite is composed of two-dimensional numerical simulations for inviscid/viscous and reacting/non-reacting flows using three different levels of grid systems. One to five test runs were carried out on various systems from dual-core dual threads to 16-core 32-threads systems by changing the number of threads engaged for each test up to 80. The results exhibit some interesting results and the lessons learned from the tests would be quite helpful for the further use of OpenMP for CFD studies using multi-core processor systems.
