At a point time, when demand is gradually increasing on LCD and PDP market all over the world, demand on glass which is key part of LCD and PDP is increasing, too. Hence, glasses are being cut by requested size for satisfaction on demands, the remain glass is making problems. This study is for designing installation of handling these remained glasses effectively and easily.
化學反應蒸着에 의한 CdS 多結晶 薄膜制作 및 그 特性硏究 (Ⅰ)

CdS thin film was fabricated by chemical bath deposition method and polycrystallined by the proper heat treatment. The physical properties of the amorphous and polycrystal of CdS thin film were observed and calculated by measuring the X-ray diffraction patterns, optical absorption, transmission and photoconductivity. From the present experiments, we obtained the energy band gap of the CdS polycrystal thin film to be 2.42eV and the In donor impurity level to be 0.025 eV below the conduction band : Another result was to be a_o=4.13Å and c_o=6.75Å for lattice constants of the hexagonal structure. Also, we attempted it to find the possibility of the application to photosensor. To apply cds this film to the photosensor more sufficiently, further experiments are required to accumulate data on such problems.
정신분열병 환자를 위한 인지재활훈련 프로그램의 개발 : Korean-Cognitive Differentiation Program 한국형 인지분화훈련 프로그램

연구배경 : 정신분열병 환자들은 인지장애를 보이는바, 저자들은 이들을 대상으로 한국형 인지분화훈련 프로그램을 개발하여 정신분열병 환자들을 대상으로 인지재활훈련을 실시한 후 환자들의 인지기능, 정신병리 및 문제해결기술에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 방 법 : 28명의 정신분열병 환자를 훈련군(n=14)과 대조군(n=14)으로 나누어 훈련군에게 한국형 인지분화훈련 프로그램을 1회 60분씩, 주당 2회씩, 11주간 총 22회를 실시하였다. 환자들의 인지기능은 K-WAIS의 산수, 빠진곳찾기, 어휘, 공통점찾기 소검사로 측정하였고 정신병리는 양성 및 음성증상 척도로 측정하였으며 문제해결기술은 사회문제해결척도로 평가하였다. 인지재활훈련의 효과를 평가하기 위해 훈련 전후의 인지기능, 정신병리 및 문제해결기술의 변화를 종속변수로 하고 훈련 유무를 독립변수로 하여 반복측정에 의한 변량분석으로 자료를 분석하였다. 결 과 : 한국형 인지분화훈련이 시간에 따른 인지기능검사 중 산수 소검사, 문제해결기술 중 시회문제해결척도의 전체 점수와 문제해결기술 소척도의 점수의 변화에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나, 시각적 주의력, 개념화 능력 및 정신병리의 점수의 변화에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 결 론 : 한국형 인지분화훈련 프로그램은 정신분열병 환자에서 청각적 주의력 및 문제해결기술의 호전을 꾀할 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of cognitive differentiation training program- Korean version(a training program of attention and conceptual abilities) on cognitive function, psychopathology and problem solving skills in patients with schizophrenia. Methods : A total of patients diagnosed as schizophrenia using DSM-Ⅳ were randomly assigned to 2 groups. The training group went through a total of 22 sessions of cognitive differentiation training(60 min/ session×2 sessions/wk×11 wks). The attention-placebo control group received psychoeducation program during the same period. Arithmetic, vocabulary, similarities, picture completion of Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Korean version, Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale, and Social Problem Solving Scales were administered to all patients, both before and after the training program. Results : In the arithmetic scores(F=6.35, af=1, p=0.018) of Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Korean version, and total scores(F=6.35, af=1, p=0.018) and problem solving skill scale scores(F=4.88, af=1, p=0.036) of social problem solving scale, interaction effects of training was significant. Conclusion : Our findings suggest that cognitive differentiation training program-Korean version is effective on improving auditory attention and problem solving skills in patients with schizophrenia.
한국 정신장애의 역학 조사 연구[I] : 각 정신장애의 유병률

Objectives : This study aims to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI). Methods : Subjects were selected by taking multi-stage, cluster samples of 7,867 adult household residents, 18 to 64 years of age, in ten catchment areas. Total 78 trained interviewers administered the K-CIDI to the selected respondents, from June 1 to November30,2001. Results : Total 6,275 respondents completed the interview. Some 33.5% of respondents reported at least one lifetime disorder, 20.6% reported at least one-year disorder, and 16.7% reported at least one-month disorder. The most common lifetime disorders were alcohol abuse/dependence (17.24%), nicotine dependence/withdrawal (11.19%), specific phobia (5.16%), and major de-pressive disorder (4.25%). The lifetime prevalence of substance abuse/dependence (0.25%) and schizophrenia (0.16%) was very low. Nicotine and alcohol use disorder showed very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among female than male. Conclusion : The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in distributions of psychiatric disorders across the areas and times were observed.

DNA Microarray Analysis of Methylprednisolone Inducible Genes in the PC12 Cells

Methylprednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid which is usually taken intravenously for many neurosurgical diseases which cause edema including brain tumor, and trauma including spinal cord injury. Methylprednisolone reduces swelling and decreases the body's immune response. It is also used to treat many immune and allergic disorders, such as arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, asthma, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease. To identify genes expressed during methylprednisolone treatment against neurons of rats (PC12 cells), DNA microarray method was used. We have isolated 2 gene groups (upor down-regulated genes) which are methylprednisolone differentially expressed in neurons. Lipocalin 3 is the gene most significantly increased among 772 up-regulated genes (more than 2 fold over-expression) and Aristaless 3 is the gene most dramatically decreased among 959 down-regulated genes (more than 2 fold down-expression). The gene increased expression of Fgb, Thbd, Cfi, F3, Kng1, Serpine1, C3, Tnfrsf4 and Il8rb are involved stress-response gene, and Nfkbia, Casp7, Pik3r1, Il1b, Unc5a, Tgfb2, Kitl and Fgf15 are strongly associated with development. Cell cycle associated genes (Mcm6, Ccnb2, Plk1, Ccnd1, E2f1, Cdc2a, Tgfa, Dusp6, Id3) and cell proliferation associated genes (Ccl2, Tnfsf13, Csf2, Kit, Pim1, Nr3c1, Chrm4, Fosl1, Spp1) are down-regulated more than 2 times by methylprednisolone treatment. Among the genes described above, 4 up-regulated genes are confirmed those expression by RT-PCR. We found that methylprednisolone is related to expression of many genes associated with stress response, development, cell cycle, and cell proliferation by DNA microarray analysis. However, We think further experimental molecular studies will be needed to figure out the exact biological function of various genes described above and the physiological change of neuronal cells by methylprednisolone. The resulting data will give the one of the good clues for understanding of methylprednisolone under molecular level in the neurons.
Quantitative localization of impacted mesiodens using panoramic and periapical radiographs

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate a new technique for localizing impacted mesiodens using its horizontal magnification ratio on panoramic radiographs. Materials and Methods : Location-magnification equation of a panoramic equipment was obtained from horizontal magnification ratio of a metal ball which was located variable positions from the center of image layer at interval of 2 mm. Panoramic radiographs were obtained from a skull phantom with a metal ball which was a substitute for impacted mesiodens and was embedded 10mm(Group 1), 15mm(Group 2), and 20mm(Group 3) posterior to the central incisor. Each group obtained 7 panoramic radiographs at variable positions and one periapical radiograph. Three methods were used to estimate the actual width of the incisors and the balls which were used to calculate the magnification ratio. The methods included using the actual incisor width and the calculated ball width (Method 1), using the actual incisor width and the ball widths measured on periapical radiograph (Method 2), and using the incisor and the ball widths measured on periapical radiograph (Method 3). The location of the metal ball was calculated by using the location-magnification equation. Results : The smallest difference between the calculated and the actual distance was $0.1{\pm}0.7 \;mm$ in Group 1/ Method 3. The largest difference was $-4.2{\pm}1.6 \;mm$ in Group 3/Method 2. In all groups, method 3 was the most accurate. Conclusion : Quantitative localization of impacted mesiodens is possible by using panoramic radiograph.
