In the field of design of mechanical structure and expectation of life time, characteristic of fatigue limit comes out to be the most important problem. In this thesis, in order to get fatigue limit, I investigate the aspects of economy, time and confidence comparing two methods: the method by fracture probalility introducing statistical conception and the staircase method. And I examine the experience approaching fatigue limit and coaxing effect. The value of fatigue limct by staircase method in very effective in view of practical use, and coaxing comes out by the same material effect as restraining crack progress, not as strengthening the tip of crack alone.

At a point time, when demand is gradually increasing on LCD and PDP market all over the world, demand on glass which is key part of LCD and PDP is increasing, too. Hence, glasses are being cut by requested size for satisfaction on demands, the remain glass is making problems. 고출력 다이오드 레이저를 이용한 SKD11 표면 열처리 특성

An experimental investigation with high power diode laser system was carried out to study the effect of surface heat treatment on the SKD11. The surface heat treatment characteristics of the laser beam were evaluated using hardness tests, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS). Results indicated that the Hardness were changed by beam size, focal length, feed rates. The micro grain structure was observed retained austenite grain at hardened zone and globular cementite grain at fine grain zone and base metal zone by optical microscopy. The intensive X-ray diffraction patterns of (110)-(200)-(211) was detected on the surface and the hardened surface intensity level was bigger than the unhardened surface. The intensive X-ray diffraction patterns of (110)-(200)-(211) was detected hardened surface and the hardened surface distributed plenty of carbon density than metal zone.

The general way to process the surface by means of the laser was heat treatment for strengthening the surface hardness. They have used the laser for changing the property of the surface, especially for metal. Generally, it is recent increasing tendency to use the thin plate panel for making things smaller and lightweight. However, it is needed to install something upholding at the thin plate panel or engrave the grooves or wave on them so that they have moment of inertia or can be strengthened, Therefore it is expected that the thin plate panel can be harder and more stable through processing of the metal surface by laser beam irradiation and hardness of thin plate possibly can be also changed how many parts of them are harden. Through this research, it can be grasped how the hardness changes and mechanical characteristic changes by width and depth of groove by laser affect the von-mises by the ratio of hardening area/total area and characteristic of displacement and structural characteristic for making the thin plate harder by the strengthening metal surface of thin plate by laser through the experiment and analysis of FEA can be presented.

Structure which is being used for flat TV is consisted almost of press products. Because of characteristic of structure, pemnut that is used for maintaining gaps of other parts and screwing is using by attaching on frame. But, there are some issues about weight and price. This study is about using forming instead of pemnut on frames, and deducing the best answer by comparing analysis of forming designing on background of tension press and twisting.

An experimental investigation with diode laser system was carried out to study the effect of surface heat treatment on the die materials(SM45C, SKD11, SK3). The surface heat treatment characteristics of the laser beam are evaluated using hardness tests, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS). Results indicated that the beam size, focal length, feed rates are changed surface hardened characteristics. SM45C is higher hardness than other materials and composed to martensite grain at hardened zone, whereas other materials(SKD11, SK3)are low hardness than expected and composed to austenite and allayed martensite at hardened zone. The intensive X-ray diffraction patterns of (110)-(200)-(211) is detected hardened surface and the hardened surface distributed plenty of carbon density than metal zone.
