        자연산 점몰개, Squalidus multimaculatus Hosoya et Jeon의 새인두흡충, Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814) 감염

        경상북도 영덕군의 하천에 서식하는 점몰개 spotted barbel gudgeon (Squalidus multimaculatus Hosoya et Jeon)의 근육에서 새인두흡충 Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814)의 피낭유충이 발견되었다. 감염된 점몰개는 "yellow grub"인 기생충의 피낭유충으로 인해 표면이 울퉁불퉁하게 보였으며, 수면위에 힘없이 유영하였고 일부 폐사한 개체도 발견되었다. 분리된 탈낭유충의 형태는 혓바닥 모양이었으며, 크기는 2.85~5.89 mm×0.8~1.99 mm였다. 어체당 1~98 개의 피낭유충을 분리하였으며 평균 감염수는 25개로 나타났다. 특히, 성어크기인 평균 7 cm 정도의 점몰개는 100% 감염되어 있었다. 본 연구는 한국의 자연수계에 서식하는 어류에서 C. complanatum 의해 질병이 발생하고 폐사가 일어난 첫 보고이다. The metacercariae of Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814) were isolated in the whole body muscle of wild freshwater fish, spotted barbel gudgeon (Squalidus multimaculatus Hosoya et Jeon) from the local river in Yeongdeok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. The infected fish with bumpy body surface by "yellow grub" showed erratic swimming behavior and some fish were died. The isolated excysted metacercariae were tongue shaped and 2.85~5.89 mm × 0.8~1.99 mm in size. 1~98 metacercariae were isolated in individual fish and mean infection intensity was 25. All examined adult spotted barbel gudgeon sizing 7 cm in body length were infected. This is the first report of disease outbreak and mortality caused by C. complanatum infection in wild freshwater fish in Korea.

        This paper presents a new voltage down converter (VDC) using charge and discharge current adjustment circuitry that provides High frequency Application. This VDC consist of a common driving circuit and compensation circuits : 3 sensors and each driving transistors for controlling gate current of driving transistor. This is designed with a 0.65㎛ Nwell CMOS technology. In HSPICE simulation results. Internal Voltage is bounded (+4.25%, -2.99%) in proposed circuitry. That is forth faster than common driving circuit. Total current dissipation is 62.866㎂ and Total power consumption is 15.7㎽.

        Treatment of rituximab in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy: a case series and literature review

        Background/Aims: Membranous nephropathy (MN) is a major cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of rituximab (RTX) in patients with idiopathic MN (iMN) who have a high risk of progression. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data of 13 patients with iMN, who received RTX treatments from January 2014 to July 2020. RTX was indicated in patients with iMN with severe proteinuria and decreasing estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in the previous 6 months despite other immunosuppressive therapies. Results: The patients were predominantly males (n = 11) and with a mean age of 55.3 years; median eGFR, 37.0 mL/ min/1.73 m<sup>2</sup> (interquartile range [IQR], 26.3 to 66.5); serum albumin level, 2.6 g/dL (IQR, 1.9 to 3.1); and spot urine protein-to-creatinine ratio at baseline, 6.6 g/g (IQR, 5.7 to 12.9). In a median follow-up of 22 months, eight patients (61.5%) achieved complete or partial remission. In responder group (n = 8), median eGFR increased from 31.5 to 61.5 mL/min/1.73 m<sup>2</sup> (p = 0.049) and serum albumin level increased from 2.3 to 4.2 g/dL (p = 0.017) from RTX initiation to last follow-up. Antiphospholipase A2 receptor antibody (anti-PLA2R-Ab) was positive in six among seven tested patients, which markedly decreased in the responder group. There were no adverse events after RTX. Conclusions: This study suggests that RTX is a safe and effective treatment option for patients with iMN who have a high risk of progression. Individualized therapy based on anti-PLA2R-Ab titer would be needed for better outcomes.

        Characteristics of Creep Deformation Behavior of Granite under Uniaxial Compression

        암석의 시간 의존 변형거동은 암석의 가장 근본적인 역학적 성질 중의 하나이며, 크립거동의 특성과 메커니즘에 대한 연구는 지하암반구조물의 장기적 안정성을 평가하는데 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내 화강암을 대상으로 단축압축하중 하에서 크립시험을 실시하였고 수분과 응력수준을 달리하여 각각의 조건에 따른 크립 특성을 비교, 분석하였다. 크립시험 결과 화강암은 l차, 2차 및 3차로 확연히 구분된 크립거동을 보였다. 1차 크립거동은 대체로 24시간 내에 종결되었으며, 2차 크립 변형률은 단축압축강도에 대한 재하응력의 비율이 증가함에 따라 증가하였다. 일정 응력하에서 화강암의 최대강도는 시간에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 완전포화된 시료는 자연건조된 시료보다 훨씬 큰 크립 변형량 및 변형률을 보였으며, 포화시료의 파괴강도 및 파괴시간은 급격히 감소하였다. 본 연구의 크립시험 결과를 버거모델(Burger’s model) 및 이전 연구지들에 의해 제안된 두 개의 경험적 모델에 적용하여 크립의 유동상수를 구하였다. 세 개의 모델 모두 화강암의 크립거동을 잘 나타내었으나, 그 중 버거모델이 실험결과와 가장 잘 일치하였다. 각각의 모델에서 결정된 유동상수들은 함수량과 응력수준에 영향을 받았다. 또한 본 실험결과에 기초하여 자연건조 및 완전포화된 화강암 시료에 대하여 응력수준과 시간의존변형의 경험적 관계식을 유도하였다. Investigation of the time-dependent behavior of rock and the associated mechanisms are of key interest in long-term stability analysis of many engineering applications. Tn this study, creep tests were performed on Daejeon granite samples of 25.4 ㎜ diameter under uniaxial compression at varying stress levels. The effect of moisture was investigated by testing both air-dried and fully water-saturated samples. The creep behavior of Daejeon granite exhibited three distinctive stages of primary, secondary and tertiary creep. The ultimate strength of granite under a constant stress decreased considerably with time. Saturation and immersion of the test specimen in water markedly increased the total creep strain as well as the secondary creep rate. The experimental creep curves are fitted to Burger's model as well as two other empirical models suggested by previous researchers. A number of the parameters determined tor each model are dependent on stress and influenced by the presence of water. Based on the experimental results, an empirical relation between the applied stress and the time-dependent strain is established separately tor each air-dried and fully water-saturated Daejeon granite.

        Operating characteristics of a triple pressure reheat HRSG are analyzed using a commercial software package (Gate Cycle by GE Enter Software). The calculation routine determines all the design parameters including configuration and area of each heat exchanger. The off-design calculation part has the capability of simulating the effect of any operating parameters such as power load, process requirements, and operating mode, etc., on the transient performance of the plant. The arrangement of high-temperature and intermediate-temperature components of the HRSG is changed, and its effect on the steam turbine performance and HRSG characteristics is examined. It is shown that there could be a significant difference in HRSG sizes even though thermal performance is not in great deviation. From the viewpoint of both economics and steam turbine performance, it should be carefully reviewed whether the optimum design point could exist. Off-design performance could be one of the main factors in arranging components of the HRSG because power plants operate at various off-design conditions such as ambient tempera­ture and gas turbine load, etc. It is shown that different heat exchanger configurations lead to different performances with ambient temperature, even though they have almost the same performances at design points.

        Prevalence of Mental Disorders and Associated Factors in Korean Adults: National Mental Health Survey of Korea 2021

        Objective Mental health is a global concern and needs to be studied more closely. We aimed to estimate the prevalence of mental disorders and their associated factors among the general population in Korea.Methods The National Mental Health Survey of Korea 2021 was conducted between June 19 and August 31, 2021 and included 13,530 households; 5,511 participants completed the interview (response rate: 40.7%). The lifetime and 12-month diagnosis rates of mental disorders were made using the Korean version of the Composite International Diagnostic Interview 2.1. Factors associated with alcohol use disorder (AUD), nicotine use disorder, depressive disorder, and anxiety disorder were analyzed, and mental health service utilization rates were estimated.Results The lifetime prevalence of mental disorders was 27.8%. The 12-month prevalence rates of alcohol use, nicotine use, depressive, and anxiety disorders were 2.6%, 2.7%, 1.7%, and 3.1%, respectively. The risk factors associated with 12-month diagnosis rates were as follows: AUD: sex and age; nicotine use disorder: sex; depressive disorder: marital status and job status; anxiety disorder: sex, marital status, and job status. The 12-month treatment and service utilization rates for 12-month AUD, nicotine use disorder, depressive disorder, and anxiety disorder were 2.6%, 1.1%, 28.2%, and 9.1%, respectively.Conclusion Approximately 25% of adults in the general population were diagnosed with mental disorders during their lifetime. The treatment rates were substantially low. Future studies on this topic and efforts to increase the mental health treatment rate at a national level are needed.
