In order to study for corrosion behavior of reinforcing steel wiht oxidation layer, the characteristics of corrosion behavior were measured by polarization resistance method and cyclic potentiodynamic method. Experiments were done with various NaCl concentrations and with immersion time in simulated concrete pore solution(SPS). Rebars were coated by epoxy except corrosion area and except connecting area with potentionmeter. The corrosion potential of rebar with oxidation layer was higher than that without oxidation layer and it also showed two anodic-nose. By the result to potentiodynamic method, the potential curve shifted to low potential region with time and anodic-nose was appeared with 3% NaCl solution after 15 days. By the result of cyclic Potentiodynamic method, the types of corrosion were different according to concentrations.
가막만에 출현하는 동물플랑크톤의 종조성과 계절별 출현 양상

가막만에 출현하는 동물플랑크톤을 계절별(2001년 4월, 7월, 9월, 12월)로 Norpac네트를 이용하여 수직 채집하였다. 우점적으로 출현한 분류군은 4월과 12월에 요각류, 7월에 요각류와 지각류,9월에 야광충이었다. 출현 개체수는 22~17,197indiv. m^-3으로 시·공간적으로 변동폭이 매우 컸다. 요각류의 우점종은 4월에 Euryte-mora pacifica, Acartio omorii, Cenfropages abdominalis, Colanus sinicus, 7월에 Lobidocera rofunda와 A. erythraea, 9월에 A. eryfhraea와 Paracalanus parvus s. l., 12월에 A. omorii와 E. pacifca로 주로 내만종으로 변하였다. 그러나, 9월에 외양종인 Eucalanus sp.와 Neo-calnus sp. 또한 다수 출현하였다. 이와 같은 출현 경향은 가막만이 폐쇄성 내만임에도 불구하고 동물플랑크톤의 분포 특성은 내만수 이외에 계절적으로 외만수의 영향을 강하게 받고 있음을 암시하고 있다. Zooplankton was sampled vertically with a Norpac net from Gamag Bay in April, July, September and December, 2001. Copepods were predominant in April and December, and cladocerans in July and Noctiluca scintillans in September, respectively. There are high spatio-temporal fluctuations in the abundance of zooplankton with a range of 22∼17,197 indiv./㎥. In the copepod community, neritic species, Eurytemora pacifica, Acartia omorii, Centropages abdominalis and Calanus sinicus were predominant in April; Labidocera rotunda and A. erythraea in July; A. erythraea and Paracalanus parvus s. l. in September; A. omorii and E. pacifica in December. However, oceanic species Eucalanus sp. and Neocalanus sp. were abundant in September. It indicates that although Gamag Bay is semi-closed, the distribution pattern of zooplankton is seasonally strongly affected by oceanic waters in addition to neritic ones.

In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.
Pathogenetic and etiologic considerations of febrile seizures

Febrile seizure (FS), which occurs in febrile children without underlying health problems, is the most common type of seizure disorder in children. The suggested pathogenesis of FS derived from several animal and human studies is multifactorial and debatable. Neuronal hyperexcitability, which develops during inflammatory responses that accompany fever, provokes seizures. However, the exact role of each inflammatory mediator (e.g., cytokines) is undefined in terms of the connection between systemic or local inflammation and the central nervous system, and the mechanisms by which cytokines increase neuronal excitability remain unclear. In contrast, the cause of fever in most children with FS is usually mild respiratory virus infection (e.g., rhinovirus, influenza virus, adenovirus, and enterovirus) rather than severe bacterial infections. In temperate regions, the major causative respiratory viruses seem to mirror seasonally prevalent respiratory viruses in the community. Therefore, vigorous efforts to identify the causative pathogen of fever may not be necessary in children with FS. Genetic factors seem to play a role in neuronal hyperexcitability, and some types of genetic variation have been identified in several genes encoding ion channels of neurons that participate in neuronal excitation. Although most children with FS have benign outcomes, some characteristics such as complex FS, febrile status epilepticus, consecutive afebrile seizures, and the presence of neurodevelopmental disabilities may require further genetic and neurologic evaluations.

We proposed a quantitative empiric equation for the effect of reaction time and reaction temperature on chemical deacetylation of chitin. The mathematic formula was proved to be in good agreement with the experimental values within 1.94% of AAD. According to the estimated results by the equation, optimal reaction temperature and reaction time were 413-433K and 60 minutes or less, respectively.

When mechanical demolition is performed, the weight of dismantling equipment and the demolition waste of buildings are applied to unexpected load that does not considered during the design of structural member. It is urgently required a structural analysis method to evaluate the safety and the guideline for the appropriate capacity of structural member to support dismantling equipment weight, reflecting the actual circumstance of mechanical demolition. Therefore, the suggested structural analysis method and the guideline for an ability to the loading of dismantling equipment weight can reasonably evaluate the capacity of structural member in demolition, and be used effectively for the increasing efficiency through the proper mangement of dismantling equipment.
