중학생의 완벽주의가 걱정에 미치는 영향: 정서조절의 매개효과 = Mediating Effects of Emotion Regulation in relationship between Perfectionism and Worry of Middle School Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 중학생을 대상으로 완벽주의가 걱정에 미치는 영향 및 정서조절의 매개역할을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울 지역 416명의 중학생을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 완벽주의 및 걱정, 그리고 주된 정서조절요인으로 지각된 정서적 유능성 및 인지적 정서조절전략을 측정하였다. 회귀분석을 통해 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 완벽주의는 중학생의 걱정에 영향을 미치며, 특히 완벽주의의 하위차원 중 평가염려 완벽주의는 지각된 정서적 유능성과 부적응적 인지정서조절전략을 부분매개로, 개인적 기준추구 완벽주의와 사회적 기대 완벽주의는 부적응적 인지정서조절전략을 완전매개로 걱정에 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구를 통하여 중학생의 완벽주의 성향에 따른 걱정을 치료하는 데 있어, 부적응적 인지정서조절전략의 감소와 지각된 정서적 유능성의 향상이 고려되어야 함을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 연구의 제한점 및 향후 연구의 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the present study was to investigate influence of perfectionism on middle school students worry. Furthermore, this study aimed at examining the role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and perceived emotional competence as mediating factors in the relationship between multiple dimensions of perfectionism and worry. For this purpose, 416 middle school students in Seoul were asked to complete four questionnaires-Perfectionism Scale, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, Trait Meta Mood Scale, and Penn State Worry Questionnaire. As a result, maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation showed partial mediating effect on relationship between perfection in evaluation concerns and worry while perfection in personal standards and in social expectation showed complete mediating effect. In addition, perceived emotional competence had partial mediating effect on relationship between perfection in evaluation concerns and worry. This results have implication that underlying mechanisms of worry of middle school students were examined in relation to personality and emotion regulation and furthermore, provided useful information for therapeutic intervention. Limitations of the present study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.
