Epidemiology, Characteristics, and Prognostic Factors of Primary Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumors in the Spinal Canal: A Systematic Review

        Zhibin Li,Yubo Wang,Liyan Zhao,Yunqian Li 대한척추신경외과학회 2024 Neurospine Vol.21 No.1

Primary atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RTs) in the spinal canal are rare central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms that are challenging to diagnose and treat. To date, there has been no standard treatment regimen for these challenging malignant tumors. Thus, we conducted this research to explore potential prognostic factors and feasible treatment modalities for improving the prognosis of these tumors. Articles were retrieved from the PubMed, MEDLINE, and Embase databases, using the keywords “atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor,” “rhabdoid tumor,” “spine,” “spinal,” “spinal neoplasm”, and “spinal cord neoplasm.” All eligible cases demonstrated SMARCB1-deficient expression validated by pathological examination. We collected and analyzed data related to clinical presentation, radiological features, pathological characteristics, treatment modalities and prognosis via Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses. Thirty-six articles comprising 58 spinal AT/RT patients were included in the study. The median progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were 18 and 22 months, respectively. Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated significant survival improvements for OS in the nonmetastasis, male, radiotherapy and intrathecal chemotherapy groups as well as for PFS in the chemotherapy and radiotherapy groups. Multivariate analysis revealed that chemotherapy and radiotherapy were prognostic factors for improved PFS, and that intrathecal chemotherapy reduced the risk of mortality. Spinal AT/RTs are uncommon malignant entities with a dismal survival rate. Although our review is limited by variability between cases, there is some evidence revealing potential risk factors and the importance of systematic chemotherapy, intrathecal chemotherapy and radiotherapy in spinal AT/RT treatment modalities.

Analysis of the extrusion pressure of a cylindrical extruder for extruding highly viscous fluids

        Zhibin Sun,Baojun Shen,Yu He,Jiecai Long,Xiaobin Zhan,Yujin Li,Xiwen Li 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.10

Extrusion pressure is crucial for the security and performance of a cylindrical extruder during the extrusion process. In this study, a validated CFD model was adopted to evaluate the relationship between the extrusion velocity, fluid viscosity, and the extrusion pressure of a cylindrical extruder while extruding highly viscous fluids. The simulated and experimental results of the extrusion pressure and velocity profiles show good agreement. This study reveals that extrusion pressure evolution can be divided into two stages during the extrusion process. At stage I, the distance between the ram and the bottom of the vessel (liquid height) is greater than the critical height and the extrusion pressure remains almost constant. At stage II, the distance is less than the critical height and the extrusion pressure increases exponentially. The results indicate that an increase in extrusion velocity and fluid viscosity leads to a linear increase in the extrusion pressure at stage I. Furthermore, by introducing a pressure number, Np, and a pressurerelated Reynolds number, Rep, a novel correlation of the extrusion pressure with the extrusion velocity, viscosity of highly viscous fluids and liquid height has been developed.

Sensitivity Analysis of Laser Quenching Parameters of ASTM 1045 of Disk Laser Based on Response Surface Method

        Zhibin Yu,Chang Li,Zhengwei Chen,Yunfei Li,Xing Han 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.5

Laser hardening is an important branch of laser surface hardening technology, which is widely used in metallurgy, transportation, machinery manufacturing, aerospace and other fields. At present, relying entirely on experience or process trial-anderrormethod, it can not effectively reveal the transient mechanism of laser quenching of disk laser, which is not conduciveto shortening the research and development cycle and saving costs. The numerical simulation provides an effective way toobtain the dynamic evolution law of multi-field coupling in laser quenching process. In this paper, a thermo-mechanicalcoupling model of ASTM 1045 laser quenching process by disk laser is established. In the model, the temperature-dependentphysical parameters were calculated by CALPHAD method. The transient law of temperature and microstructural transformationduring quenching was obtained by solving the model. The formation and transformation degree of martensite werecharacterized by the dynamic changes of the depth and width of quenched transformation layer. The quenching structure andtransformation hardening law were observed by Axioskop 2 SEM and Zeiss-IGMA HD FE-SEM to verify the accuracy ofthe simulation results. On this basis, the process parameters of laser quenching were sampled by Monte-Carlo method basedon response surface methodology. The sensitivity effects of different process parameters on the temperature field and phasechange field of laser quenching were analyzed, which laid a theoretical foundation for the optimization of process parameters.

Multi-objective variable parameter optimization algorithm for spiral bevel gear tooth surface considering meshing efficiency and contact performance

        Fei Li,Sanmin Wang,Peng Chen,Zhibin Li,Linlin Li,Qi’an Peng 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.7

A multi-objective variable parameter optimization method that considers meshing efficiency and contact performance simultaneously is proposed to optimize the tooth surface of spiral bevel gears to achieve higher contact performance and transmission efficiency. First, the tooth surface equations of the spiral bevel gear are established in line with the gear cutting process, and the deviation of tooth surface is analyzed and controlled. Second, the machine tool parameters with the greatest impact on the tooth surface are selected on the basis of the sensitivity analysis approach as the optimization design variables, and the relationship between the machine tool parameters, contact performance, and meshing efficiency is established. Third, the multi-objective variable parameter optimization algorithm is applied to determine the final optimal machine parameters, and the multi-objective optimization algorithm for the tooth surface of spiral bevel gear is formed. Finally, the correctness and effectiveness of the algorithm are verified by numerical simulation and experiment.

A Novel Method for the Stability Assessment of Soil Slopes with Multi-layers Based on the Upper Bound Limit Analysis

        Yongxin Li,Yining Hu,Fu Huang,Shuqin Li,Zhibin Sun 대한토목학회 2021 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.25 No.8

The discrete technique combined with the upper bound approach is applied to analyze the stability of soil slopes with multiple layers in this paper. Based on the geometrical relationship derived from the normality requirement, an algorithm is proposed to determine the coordinates of discrete points on the failure surface. Specifically, these points are generated from the initial point to the terminal point. After completion of the discrete sliding surface, the sliding block is sliced by the vertical slice technique. Equations with integral form for rates of internal energy dissipation and external work are then derived. The scheme for calculation of the safety factor is presented by means of the strength reduction method and the optimization algorithm. Comparison analysis based on four examples under various conditions demonstratesthe validity of the proposed method in addressing stability problem of slopes with multiple layers.

An exchange bias observed in Tb/Cr/FeCo trilayers with ultrathin Cr layer at low temperature

        Sun Li,Li Xiaoyan,Zhang Yiwei,Song Hengbo,Zhang Wen,Kou Zhaoxia,Zhang Dong,Liu Xiaoying,Fei Hongyang,Pan Mengmei,Zhao Zhibin,Zhai Ya 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.44 No.-

Positive exchange bias field (He) is observed in Tb/Cr (tCr)/FeCo trilayers at 5 K without cooling field, and negative He for Tb/FeCo bilayer. The negative He of Tb/FeCo implies the FM coupling at the interface due to Co and Fe dominate in the magnetization of the ferrimagnetic interlayer alloy of FeCo and Tb. With the inserting of Cr layer, this situation is broken, and the positive He implies the antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling. A peak of He = 6.0 mT for trilayers with tCr = 1.5 nm is corresponding to the minimum value of coercivity as a function of tCr at 5 K, which is used to study the effect of the cooling field (Hfc) on He as a function of temperature. It is found that Hfc of 100 mT triggers He from positive to negative at T ≤ 15 K. The magnetoresistance results also confirm the coexistence of multiple MR mechanisms in these trilayers.

Research on the Load-slip Properties of Corrugated rib connectors' Push-out Test

Shuqin Li,Lichao Su,Zhibin Sun 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.22 No.4

The failure characteristic and load-slip performance of corrugated rib connectors under static load were investigated usingthe push-out test combined with Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The results obtained from experiment and FEA indicate thatthe shear bearing capacity of the corrugated rib connectors are closely relate with the key factors including cubic strength ofconcrete (fcu), the open area of the steel plate (Ac1), perforated rebar tensile yield strength (fy) and Cross-sectional area (Ay),horizontal projection area of corrugated rib (= dwhw). In elastic stage, the overall shear stiffness of the corrugated rib connectorare mainly affected by the shear stiffness of the concrete bars. And in elastic-plastic stage, the shear stiffness of the concretebars and perforated rebar pronouncedly influence the overall shear stiffness of the corrugated rib connector. Finally, a linearmodel and a power law model for the load-slip behavior at elastic stage and elastic-plastic stage are provided based on theregression statistical analysis, respectively.

Microbiota Associated with the Starter Cultures and Brewing Process of Traditional Hong Qu Glutinous Rice Wine

        박관화,Zhibin Liu,박천석,Li Ni 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.3

Hong Qu glutinous rice wine (produced mainly in Fujian province, China) is a traditional alcoholic beverage, which is prepared by fermenting cooked rice using a starter containing Monascus purpureus. In this review, the microbial diversity of fermentation starters from Fujian province, including fungi, bacteria, and yeast, is analyzed in comparison with those of “nuruk” (a traditional starter for making alcoholic beverages in Korea). The bacterial organization of Hong Qu starters was vastly variable in species composition and dominated by Bacillus sp. Lactic acid bacteria were also found in some starters. In case of fungi, Monascus sp. was dominant, whereas non-Saccharomyces yeast such as Saccharomycopsis fibuligera was detected. The microorganisms found in the nuruk starter are, in general, not significantly diverse compared with those found in the Hong Qu starter, with the exception of Monascus sp.; however, Hong Qu and nuruk both contain their own unique microbiota, which are quite diverse from each other.

Mixed organic acids improve nutrients digestibility, volatile fatty acids composition and intestinal microbiota in growing-finishing pigs fed high-fiber diet

        Miao Li,Shenfei Long,Qianqian Wang,Lianhua Zhang,Jiangxu Hu,Jie Yang,Zhibin Cheng,Xiang Shu Piao 아세아·태평양축산학회 2019 Animal Bioscience Vol.32 No.6

Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate effects of mixed organic acids (MOA) on nutrient digestibility, volatile fatty acids composition and intestinal microbiota in growing-finishing pigs fed high wheat bran diet. Methods: Six crossbred barrows (Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire), with an average body weight 78.8±4.21 kg, fitted with T-cannulas at the distal ileum, were allotted to a double 3×3 Latin square design with 3 periods and 3 diets. Each period consisted of a 5-d adjustment period followed by a 2-d total collection of feces and then a 2-d collection of ileal digesta. The dietary treatments included a corn-soybean-wheat bran basal diet (CTR), mixed organic acid 1 diet (MOA1; CTR+3,000 mg/kg OA1), mixed organic acid 2 diet (MOA2; CTR+2,000 mg/kg OA2). Results: Pigs fed MOA (MOA1 or MOA2) showed improved (p<0.05) apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of gross energy, dry matter and organic matter, and pigs fed MOA2 had increased (p<0.05) ATTD of neutral detergent fiber compared to CTR. Dietary MOA supplementation decreased (p<0.05) pH value, and improved (p<0.01) concentrations of lactic acid and total volatile fatty acids (TVFA) in ileum compared to CTR. Pigs fed MOA showed higher (p<0.05) concentration of acetic acid, and lower (p<0.05) content of formic acid in feces compared to CTR. Pigs fed MOA1 had increased (p<0.05) concentration of TVFA and butyric acid in feces. Pigs fed MOA1 showed higher concentration of Lactobacillus and lower concentration of Escherichia in feces compared to CTR. Conclusion: Dietary supplementation of MOA 1 or 2 could improve nutrients digestibility, TVFA concentration and intestinal flora in growing-finishing pigs fed high fiber diet.
