      • Terminal Anomaly Detection System Based on Dynamic Taint Analysis Technology

        With the rapid development of computer systems, intrusion attack methods have become large-scale, distributed and complex. Traditional protection means such as vulnerability database, virus database and rule matching can’t cope with the attacks hidden inside the terminals. This paper proposed a terminal anomaly detection system based on dynamic taint analysis technology from the data dimension of the terminals. Firstly we built a standard data path model based on HMM and evaluated the deviation degree of the current operating mode with it to find the abnormal working status of the terminals. The experimental results show that the structure is valid to discover the intrusion attacks with a high detection rate and low false alarm rate.

        A green ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction method for efficient extraction of total polyphenols from Empetrum nigrum and determination of its bioactivities

        In this study, a green and efficient ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction (UAEE) method was establishedfor total polyphenols (TPP) extraction from E. nigrum aerial parts. Fractional Factorial design (FFD)was initially implemented for the selection of significant parameters affecting TPP yield and then Box-Behnken design-response surface methodology (BBD-RSM) was employed to optimize the parameters. The optimum extraction conditions for UAEE were as follows: incubation temperature of 38.39 ℃, incubationtime of 3.39 h, tannase of 386.53 U/g of sample (U/g), and cellulase of 224.42 U/g. Under the optimumconditions, the TPP yield was 52.17 ± 0.39 mg/g, which was 1.62 and 1.73 times those of themethods of ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and enzyme-assisted extraction (EAE), respectively. The crude extract was purified by HPD-600 microporous resin, and the purity was improved from8.11% to 22.56%. In addition, the results of antioxidant and antibacterial activity assays showed thatthe purified extract has stronger bioactivities in contrast with the crude extract. This study indicated thatUAEE was an effective technique for the extraction of TPP from the aerial parts of E. nigrum, and TPPextracted by this extraction method could be applied in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food industries.

        Reference Intervals for Thyroid-Associated Hormones and the Prevalence of Thyroid Diseases in the Chinese Population

        Background: Thyroid diseases are highly prevalent worldwide, but their diagnosis remains a challenge. We established reference intervals (RIs) for thyroid-associated hormones and evaluated the prevalence of thyroid diseases in China. Methods: After excluding outliers based on the results of ultrasound screening, thyroid antibody tests, and the Tukey method, the medical records of 20,303 euthyroid adults, who visited the Department of Health Care at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2014 to December 2018, were analyzed. Thyroid-associated hormones were measured by the Siemens Advia Centaur XP analyzer. The RIs for thyroid-associated hormones were calculated according to the CLSI C28-A3 guidelines, and were compared with the RIs provided by Siemens. The prevalence of thyroid diseases over the five years was evaluated and compared using the chi-square test. Results: The RIs for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxine (FT4), free triiodothyronine (FT3), total thyroxine (TT4), and total triiodothyronine (TT3) were 0.71–4.92 mIU/L, 12.2–20.1 pmol/L, 3.9–6.0 pmol/L, 65.6–135.1 nmol/L, and 1.2–2.2 nmol/L, respectively. The RIs of all hormones except TT4 differed significantly between males and females. The RIs of TSH increased with increasing age. The prevalence of overt hypothyroidism, overt hyperthyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, and subclinical hyperthyroidism was 0.5% and 0.8%, 0.2% and 0.6%, 3.8% and 6.1%, and 3.3% and 4.7% in males and females, respectively, which differed from those provided by Siemens. Conclusions: Sex-specific RIs were established for thyroid-associated hormones, and the prevalence of thyroid diseases was determined in the Chinese population.

        한국어 학습자의 쓰기에 나타난 어휘 풍요도 연구-숙달도 측정 도구로써 어휘 풍요도 측정 가능성을 중심으로-

        본 연구는 중급, 고급 중국인 한국어 학습자들의 어휘 풍요도를 분석하여 이를 통해 학습자의 어휘 능력 발달을 측정할 수 있는 도구로써 쓰기 능력을 측정하는 지표로 사용할 수 있는가를 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서 중국어권 중급, 고급 한국어 학습자들의 쓰기 평가 자료를 연구 대상으로 삼아서 학습자 작문 총 40편을 수집하여 어휘 풍요도를 분석하였다. 어휘 풍요도를 분석하기 위해 어휘 다양도, 어휘 밀도, 어휘 세련도를 측정하였다. 분석 결과, 중국인 학습자들의 글에 나타난 어휘 풍요도는 등급이 올라가도 다양도는 크게 달라지지 않는다는 것을 확인하였고, 밀도와 세련도에 있어서의 차이는 6급 정도의 고급 학습자가 되었을 때는 3,4 급의 중급 학습자와 어휘 사용에 있어 차이가 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 쓰기 점수에 영향을 미치는 어휘 풍요도 변수의 영향을 분석한 결과 어휘 밀도는 쓰기 점수를 30%이상 설명할 수 있는 변수이지만 어휘 다양도와 세련도는 쓰기 점수에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 변수가 아닌 것으로 드러났다. The purpose of this study is to prove whether the lexical richness of Korean learners` writing has correlation with their language development and to observe whether it can be used to measure their language proficiency. To find our the possibility of using the lexical richness score as a reliable measurement and standard of Korean learners` language proficiency, we collected 40 pieces of Chinese Korean learners` writing works from level 3 to level 6. We analyzed the lexical richness by lexical density, lexical diversity, and lexical sophistication, and discovered that level 6 learners` lexical density and lexical sophistication score were better than level 3 and level 4 learners` scores. Also, the hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to examine the relative influence of the 3 vocabulary measurements. Therefore, the results revealed that their lexical density has 30 % account with their writing scores while lexical diversity and lexical sophistication were found that no influence with writing scores. The implication of this study is to explore the possibility of measuring vocabulary richness as a measurement tool of writing scores for Korean language learners.

        The impacts of resveratrol on the retinal degeneration in a rat model of retinitis pigmentosa induced by alkylation: an in-vivo study

        Upregulation of Sirtuin Type 1 (SIRT1), a nicotinamide adeninedinucleotide (NAD+)-dependentdeacetylase, has been proved to protect against ample ocular diseases, while its effect onretinitis pigmentosa (RP) has not been illustrated. The study was aimed to explore the impactsof resveratrol (RSV), a SIRT1 activator, on the photoreceptor degeneration in a rat model of RPinduced by N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (MNU), an alkylation. The rats were induced RP phenotypesvia the intraperitoneal injection of MNU. The electroretinogram was conducted and revealedthat RSV could not prevent the decline of retinal function in the RP rats. The optical coherencetomography (OCT) and the retinal histological examination were performed and showed thatthe reduced thickness of the outer nuclear layer (ONL) was not preserved by RSV intervention. The immunostaining technique was applied. Afther the MNU administration, the number of theapoptotic photoreceptors in the ONL throughout the retinasand the number of microglia cellspresent among the outer part throughout the retinas were not significantly reduced by RSV. Western blotting was also performed. The data showed that the level of SIRT1 protein wasdecreased after MNU administration, while RSV was not able to obviously alleviate thedownregulation. Our data together indicated that RSV was not able to rescue thephotoreceptor degeneration in the MNU-induced RP rats, which might be due to the MNUinducedconsumption of the NAD+.

        Preparation of Robust Aramid/Epoxy Composites through Enhancing the Interface Performance by Nanocoating Solution

        Aramid fiber reinforced composites (AFRC) have attracted considerable attention because of its high strength andmodulus. But the poor interface due to the smooth fiber surface and few active groups limits the application of the finalcomposites. In this study, robust AFRC was achieved via dip-coating approach. Instead of Kevlar fiber, sulfonefunctionalizedpoly(p-phthaloyl-p-phenylenediamine) (SPPTA) was served as precursor to prepare nanocoating solution. Byfurther grafting epichlorohydrin (ECH) and Shellac (SLC), the functional coating solution was obtained. After modification,the roughness and the polarity of the fiber were considerably improved. The modified AF/epoxy composites showedexcellent interfacial bonding and mechanical properties. For the sample grafted with SLC, the interfacial shear strength(IFSS) reached 43.7 MPa with a significant enhancement by 21.4 %; while the inter-laminar shear strength (ILSS) reached48.6 MPa with a reinforcement of 45.9 %. The flexural strength and tensile strength were increased to 283 MPa and831 MPa, indicating that the study provides an effective method to achieve high strength AFRC.

        Full-scale testing on the flexural behavior of an innovative dovetail UHPC joint of composite bridges

        This paper presents a full-scale experimental test to investigate the flexural behavior of an innovative dovetail ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) joint designed for the 5th Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. The test specimen had a dimension of 3600 × 1600 × 170 mm, in accordance with the real bridge. The failure mode, crack pattern and structural response were presented. The ductility and stiffness degradation of the tested specimens were explicitly discussed. Test results indicated that different from conventional reinforced concrete slabs, well-distributed cracks with small spacing were observed for UHPC joint slabs at failure. The average nominal flexural cracking strength of the test specimens was 7.7 MPa, signifying good crack resistance of the proposed dovetail UHPC joint. It is recommended that high grade reinforcement be cooperatively used to take full advantage of the superior mechanical property of UHPC. A new ductility index, expressed by dividing the ultimate deflection by flexural cracking deflection, was introduced to evaluate the post-cracking ductility capacity. Finally, a strut-and-tie (STM) model was developed to predict the ultimate strength of the proposed UHPC joint.

        Surface Modifications of Titanium Dental Implants with Strontium Eucommia Ulmoides to Enhance Osseointegration and Suppress Inflammation

        Background Titanium (Ti) is now widely used as implant material due to its excellent mechanical properties and superior biocompatibilities, while its inert bioactivities might lead to insufficient osseointegration, and limit its performance in dental applications. Methods We introduced a robust and simple approach of modifying titanium surfaces with polysaccharide complexes. Titanium samples were subjected to hydrothermal treatment to create a uniform porous structure on the surface, followed by coating with a bioinspired and self-assembly polydopamine layer. Strontium Eucommia Ulmoides Polysaccharide (EUP-Sr) complexes are then introduced to the polydopamine-coated porous titanium. Multiple morphological and physiochemical characterizations are employed for material evaluation, while cell proliferation and gene expression tests using macrophages, primary alveolar bone osteoblasts, and vascular endothelial cells are used to provide an overall insight into the functions of the product. The significances of statistical differences were analyzed using student’s t-test. Results Microscopic and spectrometric characterizations confirmed that the Ti surface formed a porous structure with an adequate amount of EUP-Sr loading. The attachment was attributed to hydrogen bonding between the ubiquitous glycosidic linkage of the polysaccharide complex and the ring structure of polydopamine, yet the loaded EUP-Sr complex can be gradually released, consequently benefiting the neighboring microenvironment. Cell experiments showed no cytotoxicity of the material, and the product showed promising anti-inflammation, osseointegration, and angiogenesis properties, which were further confirmed by in vivo evaluations. Conclusion We believe the EUP-Sr modified titanium implant is a promising candidate to be used in dental applications with notable osteoimmunomodulation and angiogenesis functions. And the novel technique proposed in this study would benefit the modification of metal/inorganic surfaces with polysaccharides for future research.
