Event-triggered Coordination Control for Multi-agent Systems with Connectivity Preservation

        Yuan Fan,Jun Chen,Cheng Song,Yong Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.4

This work investigates the connectivity preservation problem of multi-agent systems with event-triggered controllers. The agents in the system have only limited communication ranges, and they are required to achieve rendezvous while preserving the connectivity of the communication graph. To reduce the amount of communication packages, event-triggering mechanism is employed. We propose two kinds of event triggers to realize the connectivity-preserving rendezvous of the multi-agent system, i.e., the connectivity trigger to preserve the network connectivity, and the convergence trigger to drive the agents to achieve rendezvous. By introducing a particular constraint function in the controller design, the control inputs of the agents can be bounded throughout the rendezvous process. This guarantees that the controller can be physically implemented in practice. It is proven that the agent group will achieve rendezvous while all the existing communication links can be preserved under some very mild assumptions on the controller design. Moreover, Zeno behavior can be avoided by using an event/time hybrid triggering approach. The effectiveness of the proposed event-triggered control is illustrated by simulations.

Comparative study on carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber composites reinforced by hybrid fillers of rice bran carbon and graphite carbon

        Yuan Fan,Qingyuan Li,Xiangxu Li,Dam hee Lee,Ur Ryong Cho 한국탄소학회 2018 Carbon Letters Vol.27 No.-

In the present work, a comparative study of the mechanical behavior of two series of elastomeric composites, based on carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber (X-SBR) and reinforced with rice bran carbon (RBC) and graphite, is reported. Hybrid composites of X-SBR filled with RBC-graphite were also investigated in terms of the cure characteristics, hardness, tensile properties, abrasion resistance, and swelling. It was observed that the cure times decreased with the incorporation of a carbon filler whereas the torque difference, tensile strength, tensile modulus, hardness, and swelling resistance increased compared to the neat X-SBR revealing a favorable characteristic of crosslinking. Dynamic rheological analysis showed that the G values of the composites, upon the addition of RBC-graphite, were changed to some extent. This demonstrates that the presence of a strongly developed network of fillers will ensure a reinforcing characteristic in a polymer matrix.

      • Association Study of Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms of STAT2/STAT3/IFN-γ Genes in Cervical Cancer in Southern Chinese Han Women

Yuan, Yuan,Fan, Jie-Lin,Yao, Fang-Ling,Wang, Kang-Tao,Yu, Ying,Carlson, Jennifer,Li, Ming Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.8

Objective: Interferon-${\gamma}$ (IFN-${\gamma}$) and signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs) each play an important role in carcinogenesis associated with viral infection. Cervical cancer is almost invariably associated with infection by human papillomavirus (HPV), and previous studies suggested that dysregulation of the signal pathway involved in IFN-${\gamma}$ and STATs is associated. Our objective was to evaluate the association of SNPs in STAT2, STAT3, and IFN-${\gamma}$ with cervical cancer susceptibility in Chinese Han women in Hunan province. Materials and Methods: Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples of 234 cervical cancer patients and 216 healthy female controls. STAT2 and STAT3 genotyping was performed using polymerase chain reaction-restriction enzyme (PCR-RE) analysis. IFN-${\gamma}$ genotyping was detected by PCR-amplification of specific allele (PASA). Results: For STAT2 rs2066807 polymorphisms, there was no significant difference of genotype distribution (P=0.827) and allele frequencies (P=0.830, OR=1.09, 95% CI: 0.51-2.31) between cases and controls. For STAT3 rs957970 polymorphisms, there was no significant difference of genotype distribution (P=0.455) and allele frequencies (P=0.560, OR=0.92, 95% CI: 0.71-1.20) between cases and controls. For IFN-${\gamma}$ +874A/T polymorphisms, there was no significant difference of genotype distribution (P=0.652) and allele frequencies (P=0.527, OR=1.12, 95% CI: 0.79-1.59) between cases and controls. Conclusion: These results suggest that polymorphisms in STAT2, STAT3 and IFN-${\gamma}$ genes are not likely to be strong predictors of cervical cancer in Han women in southern China.

      • Estimating the External Returns to Education: Evidence from China

        ( Wen Fan ),( Yuan Yuan Ma ) 한국정책학회 2013 한국정책학회 학술대회 Vol.2013 No.2

We examine how individual wage changes associated with the share of college graduates in a given province using longitudinal data from China Health and Nutrition Survey. The individual fixed effect model shows that the external returns to education in China appear to be zero. We estimate an instrumental variables fixed effects model where share of college graduates is instrumented by the number of universities with special status and find positive external returns to education of about 10% to 14%. We also find the returns are affected by individual heterogeneity. While negligible returns are found for urban, women and highly-educated workers respectively, the returns are positive and statistically significant for rural, men and low educated workers. This finding provides motivations for increasing education investment in rural China and targeting it more towards poorly educated workers.

Case Study of the Effect of Rainfall Infiltration on a Tunnel Underlying the Roadbed Slope with Weak Inter-Layer

        Sheng-yuan Fan,Zhan-ping Song,Yu-wei Zhang,Nai-fei Liu 대한토목학회 2020 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.24 No.5

It is a common type of tunnel under-cross the roadbed slope with weak inter-layer. Rainfall infiltration will cause soil softening, matric suction and strength reduction, which seriously threaten the safety of slope and tunnel. This paper presents a case where a tunnel underlying the roadbed slope with weak inter-layer in Guiyang 1# line, China. The seepage calculation model in MIDAS GTS/NX software, considering hydraulic permeability coefficient characteristiccurve and soil-water characteristic curve, was used to analyze the stress and deformation of the roadbed slope and tunnel. The results reveal that rainfall infiltration has great influence on the deformation of roadbed slope with weak inter-layer and the force of internal tunnel. Slope displacement increases rapidly in the early stage and decreases in the late stage, but the absolute value of displacement increases continuously and the slope safety factor decreases gradually, which makes the slope in a dangerous state. The force of tunnel lining increases in the early stage and decreases with the recovery of soil strength after rainfall. The control effects of anchor cable and anti-slide pile reinforcement on slope sliding and tunnel stress were studied. And the anchor cable reinforcement measure is more effective on reducing slope slip and tunnel lining structure internal force.

        한국과 중국 TV공익광고 비교 연구

원이범 ( Yi Fan Yuan ),김희정 ( Hee Jung Kim ) 제주대학교 탐라문화연구원 2013 탐라문화 Vol.0 No.42

The study analyzes the contents of topics, methods of appeal and model types for the TV public service advertizing(PSA) in Korea and China. The targets were 84 Korean and 64 Chinse PSA advertised on TV in both countries from 2000 to 2011. The results of the topic analysis showed the two countries have a similar trend for juvenile issues or health, while the PSA on educations or environmental problems are much different from each other. PSA for conservation of nature, low fertility or multicultural families are common in Korea, but PSA for international conference, filial piety, loyality or courtesy are frequently appeared in China. This can be explained by the reflection of different social problems appearing in the two countries; low fertility and multicultural families in Korea, and rapid economic growth and Materialism in China. For the methods of appeals Korean PSA preferred rational appeals, on the contrary emotional appeals were common in Chinese PSA that want people to participate in national policy for the olympics and overcoming the national disaster. The most common types of model for PSA in Korea are family, foreigner, while famous people were the most frequent model type in China. To highlight the images of mediocrity, multiplicity, and participativeness multi-models are commonly appeared in PSA in both countries.

SEDs and Beaming Effect for Fermi Blazars

        Jun-Hui Fan,Jiang-He Yang,Yi Liu,Yu-Hai Yuan,Cao Lin,Hu-Bing Xiao 한국우주과학회 2016 Journal of Astronomy and Space Sciences Vol.33 No.2

In this work, based on our previous calculations of spectral energy distributions for a sample of Fermi blazars (Fan et al. 2015a), we calculated the radio loudness and performed correlation analyses. Our analysis results show that radio loudness is closely anti-correlated with synchrotron peak frequency and positively correlated with gamma-ray luminosity, suggesting that the gamma-ray emissions are strongly beamed.

Geft is dispensable for the development of the second heart field

( Xiong Wei Fan ),( Ning Hou ),( Kai Ji Fan ),( Jia Jia Yuan ),( Xiao Yang Mo ),( Yun Deng ),( Yong Qi Wan ),( Yan Teng ),( Xiao Yang ),( Xius Han Wu ) 생화학분자생물학회 (구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2012 BMB Reports Vol.45 No.3

Geft is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, which can specifically activate Rho family of small GTPase by catalyzing the exchange of bound GDP for GTP. Geft is highly expressed in the excitable tissue as heart and skeletal muscle and plays important roles in many cellular processes, such as cell proliferation, migration, and cell fate decision. However, the in vivo role of Geft remains unknown. Here, we generated a Geft conditional knockout mouse by flanking exons 5-17 of Geft with loxP sites. Cre-mediated deletion of the Geft gene in heart using Mef2c-Cre transgenic mice resulted in a dramatic decrease of Geft expression. Geft knockout mice develop normally and exhibit no discernable phenotype, suggesting Geft is dispensable for the development of the second heart field in mouse. The Geft conditional knockout mouse will be a valuable genetic tool for uncovering the in vivo roles of Geft during development and in adult homeostasis. (BMB reports 2012; 45(3): 153-158)

Vol.27 No.4

Background The animation character in the background of the study determines the inner driving force of the character's behavior based on the motive, which is the reason for the action, and the intention, which is the goal of the action in the narrative. This paper analyzed the inconsistency of motivation and intention in order to grasp the conflict in the actions of non-hostile characters with common goals in animation as motivation and intention. In previous studies, based on psychology and motivation psychology, the concept of non-hostile characters were understood, and also motivation, intention were distinguished, more over conflict is identified. In particular, systematicity was established through the relationship between the characters appearing in the latest theater feature Disney animation Encanto. Methods In previous studies, based on psychology and motivation psychology, the concept of non-hostile characters was understood, motivation and intention were distinguished, and conflict was identified. Therefore, in motivation psychology, motivation (M) was classified into approach motivation (AcM) and avoidance motivation (AvM), intention (Int) was identified according to motivation, approach motivation was identified as recommended intention (EInt), and avoidance motivation was identified as prevention intention (PInt). In this regard, a system of analysis was established through semiotics as an affiliate and an integrator. As a qualitative research method, events (E) were sequentially extracted from the central narrative (N) through the latest theatrical feature animation Encanto (2021), and analyzed from act (A) to motive (M) and intention (Int). Result Mirabel had a high recommended intention of approach motivation, and grandmother had a high intention of preventing avoidance motivation. Therefore, a conflict between the main character and the non-hostile character was triggered. Conclusion The motivation for approach and avoidance influenced the conflict over the behavior of the animation character, resulting in an affiliated inconsistency (PaD) between the behavioral motivation and intention of the character. This paper sets the scope of the study only of motivation and intention as the central element of the conflict against non-hostile characters. For example analysis, the latest animation in which there are no villains and conflicts between families, is selected as a qualitative research method. Therefore, I analyzed the Disney animation Encanto. In future studies, as a study on non-hostile characters in animation, I intend to conduct in-depth follow-up studies on the theme of the absence of villain characters.

Cloning and characterization of the cardiac-specific Lrrc10 promoter

( Xiong Wei Fan ),( Qing Yang ),( You Liang Wang ),( Yan Zhang ),( Jian Wang ),( Jia Jia Yuan ),( Yong Qing Li ),( Yue Qun Wang ),( Yun Deng ),( Wu Zhou Yuan ),( Xiao Yang Mo ),( Yong Qi Wan ),( Karen 생화학분자생물학회(구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2011 BMB Reports Vol.44 No.2

Leucine-rich repeat containing protein 10 (LRRC10) is characterized as a cardiac-specific gene, suggesting a role in heart development and disease. A severe cardiac morphogenic defect in zebrafish morphants was recently reported but a contradictory result was found in mice, suggesting a more complicated molecular mechanism exists during mouse embryonic development. To elucidate how LRRC10 is regulated, we analyzed the 5`enhancer region approximately 3 kilo bases (kb) upstream of the Lrrc10 start site using luciferase reporter gene assays. Our characterization of the Lrrc10 promoter indicates it possesses complicated cis-and trans-acting elements. We show that GATA4 and MEF2C could both increase transcriptional activity of Lrrc10 promoter individually but that they do not act synergistically, suggesting that there exists a more complex regulation pattern. Surprisingly, knockout of Gata4 and Mef2c binding sites in the 5`enhancer region (-2,894/-2,889) didn`t change the transcriptional activity of the Lrrc10 promoter and the likely GATA4 binding site identified was located in a region only 100 base pair (bp) upstream of the promoter. Our data provides insight into the molecular regulation of Lrrc10 expression, which probably also contributes to its tissue-specific expression. [BMB reports 2011; 44(2): 123-128]
