        Nitriding behavior of the mixtures of amorphous silica extractracted from San Chung White kaolin and activated carbon Were studied by varying the carbon content, reaction temperature, and time under N₂atmosphere. Experimental results obtained from XRD, SEM and TEM indicated that the nitridation of the mixtures initiated below 1200℃ and mullite, silicon oxynitride, β-Sialon, β-SiC, and α-and β-Si₃N₄were identified as reaction products. Optimum nitridation condition of extracted silica were as follows. 1. Carbon/Extracted silica (in weight ratio)=3. 2. Reaction temperature; 1350℃ 3. Reaction time ; above 1hour.

        본 논문은 발달장애유아 언어행동발달 컨텐츠 개발에 요구되는 기초연구로써 연구의 이론적 바탕을 확립하고자 하였다. 연구에 사용된 방법은 문헌조사 방법 및 현장 인터뷰기법을 병행하였다. 본 연구의 주된 목적은 크게 3가지로 구분된다. 첫째, 발달장애유아의 가정 내 교육 욕구를 분석하고자 하였다. 둘째, 발달장애유아의 언어발달 양상을 검토하고자 하였다. 세 번째 목적은 유아의 언어행동발달 컨텐츠 구성의 주요 지침을 설정하고자 하였다. 이상의 연구목적에 따른 연구결과를 요약하면 다음 몇 가지로 제시된다. 1.가정 내 부모-유아간 관계형성이 우선 고려 되어야하고, 이에 따른 상호작용은 발달적 애착형성이 가능한 방향으로 정립되어야한다. 2.발달장애유아의 언어행동발달양상을 검토한 결과에 따르면, Piaget는 언어행동발달에 있어 감각운동기적 환경탐색 기능을 강조하고 있고, 이는 현재까지 중요한 유아 발달의 기저로 정착되었다. 따라서, 발달장애유아의 언어행동발달을 위한 컨텐츠 개발 내용에 있어서도 이러한 기저에 충실함이 합리적이다. 3.발달장애유아들에게는 언어행동 양상의 갈래가 크게 운동장애 및 감각결함으로 나누어질 수 있으므로, 이 두 가지 갈래의 각기 다른 특성이 컨텐츠 구성에서 충분히 고려되어야한다. 4.자폐성과 같은 중증 전반적 발달장애 유아를 위한 언어행동발달 컨텐츠 구성에서 특히 고려해야 할 두 가지 요소는 모방행동기능과 반복단순훈련기능 향상으로 결론지을 수 있다. This article planed to establish the theoretical foundations of the research as a basic study needed for developing the contents of verbal(language) behavior development for the infants with developmental disabilities. The methods used in the study was previous literature researches and interviews with subjects. The purposes of the study were divided into three parts. First, it was to analyze the educational needs of the infants with developmental disabilities in home settings. Second, it was to review and discover the language patterns of the infants with developmental disabilities. The third purpose was to devise the major guidelines of their language development's contents. The results of the study were described as the followings. 1.The relationships between the infants with developmental disabilities and their parents and their interactions should move to build the developmental attachments between them. 2.According to the literature findings of their language development patterns, Piaget concentrated on the functions of sensory motor environmental exploring in the language behavior development. The functions have been settled down into the important foundation for the infants' development. Thus, it was resonable that the content's development of the language behaviors for the infants with developmental disabilities should based on the function addressed by Piaget. 3.The language behaviors' patterns of the infants with developmental disabilities generally were classified into motor disabilities and sensory defect(deficiency). Therefore, the two factors should be considered for the constructions of the contents. 4.Constructing the contents of the language behavior developments for the infants with severely pervasive developmental disabilities such as autism, the improvements of two functions, imitative behavior and repetitive simple training should be considered.

        The purpose of this study is to propose a study on the direction of development of the leisure policy in the aging society in the 21st century and ultimately try to find how to activate the old People's exercises. The method to develop the leisure policy for the old people's as follows: First there must be creative, active and constructive form of leisure and we must help the old to enjoy a life of leisure. Secondly, it is necessary to expand and supplement recreation facilities for the aged in the aging society, Thirdly, it is necessary to enlarge the public facilities for the old people's physical training and find a plan to use them properly. Fourthly, it is necessary to fry to find the method to use the facilities effectively for a life of leisure. Fifthly, there must be a variety of educational program to activate a leisure activity for the aged and it is necessary to strength then the old people's education through all cultures. Sixthly, it is necessary to instruct and use professional leaders to carry out such leisure activities for the old. Seventhly, it is necessary to develop and spread the sports programs proper to the old and then find a plan to utilize them wisely, Last, including the leisure policy for the aged, it is necessary to set up and intensify an organization exclusively responsible for the old people's physical training.

        The Effect of Modified Swing Method on the Muscle Activation Patterns of Upper Limb in Wheelchair Badminton Players

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of modified swing to prevent shoulder injury by analyzing differences in the muscle activation patterns of upper limb by the swing method in wheelchair badminton players. Research design, data, and methodology: 10 wheelchair badminton players participated in the experiment as subjects and performed 10 high clears and 10 smashes in both traditional and modified swing methods toward a shuttlecock hung at the height of racket impact point. For each trial, activation patterns of biceps brachii, triceps brachii, anterior deltoid, and posterior deltoid were measured from the upper limb participating in the swing from which the duration, peak, and root mean square (RMS) of electromyography (EMG) activities from swing initiation to shuttle impact were calculated. The maximum swing velocity of the smash and the distance of the high clear were also measured with both methods to compare differences in the swing velocity and shuttle hit distance. Results: Differences in the EMG peak and RMS of the anterior deltoid by swing methods were shown to differ by the skill type, being higher in the traditional swing method than the modified during only the high clear. The EMG peak and RMS, and the duration of the posterior deltoid were higher and longer with the traditional swing method than the modified during both the smash and high clear. The intensities of the biceps brachii and triceps brachii activities measured during the smash and high clear were higher in the traditional swing method than the modified, and the biceps brachii and triceps activity durations during the high clear were shorter in the modified swing method than the traditional. The maximum swing velocity of the smash was faster with the traditional swing method than the modified, while the distance of the high clear did not differ significantly. Conclusions: These results suggest that the modified swing can be an effective performance method for preventing shoulder injuries without undue loss of impact power in wheelchair badminton players by reducing excessive loads imposed on the shoulder and allowing the optimal use of the elbow extension.

        Febrile ulceronecrotic PLEVA is an unusually severe from of PLEVA, characterized by the sudden onset of diffuse ulceronecrotic eruption aasociated with high fever. A mild eruption precede the acute fulminating course, We observed a 13-year-old boy presenting the form of febrile ulceronecrotic PLEVA. The histologic features were those of PLEVA. He received the systemic corticosteroids with aupportive care. To recognize this disorder is important because of a possibly fatal outcome, So close attention and vigorous therapy are necessary.

        소아에서의 백반증과 탈색모반 - 임상 및 DOPA 염색에 의한 비교연구 -

        We performed analysis of 79 childhood patients diagnosed as vitiligo and nevus depigmentosus in Tediatric Dermatologie Department of Seoul National University Hospital from March 1987 to September 1987. The results were as follows : 1. Of the 79 patients, 31 patients(39.2%) were vitiligo 21 patients(26.6% )were nevus depigmentosus and 27 patients(34.2%)were uncertain by cliniral diagnostic ctriteri.. 2. Viiligo began rarely in infancy(6.4% )and most appeared evenly in all childhood over 1 year old. Nevus clepigmentosus was present at birth in 57.1% of patients and was discovered within the first 6 months after birth in 42.9% of patients. 3. In vitiligo, most lesions were multiple. The most common site of involvement was the face, and there was this tendency of periorficial predisposition. In nevus ciepigmentosus, most lesions were solitary. The most, common aites of involvement were the lowed limbs and trunk, but there was no tendency of periorfcial presposition. 4. We found focal type of vitiligo in,51,6% of patients, vulgaris type in 32. 3 % acrofacial type in 9.6% and segmerital type in 6.5%. We also found isolated pattern of nevus clepigrnento us in 76.2% of patients, ciermatomal p<:ttern in 19.0ki and whorlec1 pattern in 4.8% The contrast enhiancement between the hypopigmented skin and nomal surrounding skin by Wood's light, examinatior reflected the epiclermal melanin pig merit, i. e., the more marked loss of pigmentation, the more accentuatian of the contrast The before, Wood's light examination without I:3OPA staining could help to ciiagnose the atisculte type of vitiligo showing eidermal melanocytes and nevu c.Iepigmeritosus.

        Complete Nucleotide Sequence of Cytochrome P450 2E1 Expressed in the Rat Brain

        2-Deoxyribonolactone (dL) arises as a major DNA damage induced by a variety of agents, involving free radical attack and oxidation of C1'-deoxyribose in DNA. We investigated whether dL lesions can be repaired in mammalian cells and the mechanisms underlying the role of DNA polymerase β in processing of dL lesions. Pol β appeared to be trapped by dL residues, resulting in stable DNA-protein cross-links. However, repair DNA synthesis at site-specific dL sites occurred effectively in cell-free extracts, but predominantly accompanied by long-patch base excision repair (BER) pathway. Reconstitution of long-patch BER demonstrated that FEN 1 was capable of removing the displaced flap DNA containing a 5'-dL residue. Cellular repair of dL lesions was largely dependent on the DNA polymerase activity of Pol β. Our observations reveal repair mechanisms of dL and define how mammalian cells prevent cytotoxic effects of oxidative DNA lesions that may threaten the genetic integrity of DNA.From the RT-PCR amplifications using mRNA templates isolated from Sprague-Dawley rat brains, we isolated a cDNA fragment of 1,524 bp which covered the full coding information of the rat brain CYP2E1. Its nucleotide sequence was identical to the previously reported rat liver CYP2E1 mRNA except for the difference of one base (A to C at the nucleotide position 73). This difference also altered the amino acid Lys to Gln. However, no insertion or deletion of nucleotide(s) which could alter the reading frame was found within the structure of this rat brain CYP2E1. This study should provide the molecular basis regarding the pathophysiological function of CYP2E1 in the brain.

        Tetrahydropalmatine Inhibits Pro-Inflammatory Mediators in Lipopolysaccharide-Stimulated THP-1

        For centuries, Corydalis Rhizoma has been used in Korean traditional medicine. Tetrahydropalmatine is an alkaloid compound and a prominent anti-inflammatory agent found in plants, including Corydalis yanhusuo. However, the therapeutic mechanisms of tetrahydropalmatine are still not well understood. To provide insight into the biological effects of tetrahydropalmatine, we examined its influence on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced interleukin (IL)-8 production in the human monocytic cell line THP-1. In the present study, IL-8 production was measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) activation, as determined by western blot analysis. Tetrahydropalmatine inhibited LPS-induced IL-8 production in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, tetrahydropalmatine inhibited extracellular signal-regulated kinase and p38 MAPK phosphorylation, which suggests that tetrahydropalmatine inhibits IL-8 secretion by blocking MAPK phosphorylation. Taken together, these findings may help elucidate the mechanism by which tetrahydropalmatine modulates THP-1 cell activation under inflammatory conditions

        Classifying Children with ADHD Based on Prefrontal Functional Near-infrared Spectroscopy Using Machine Learning

        Objective: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder in children and adults characterized by cognitive and emotional self-control deficiencies. Previous functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) studies found significant group differences between ADHD children and healthy controls during cognitive flexibility tasks in several brain regions. This study aims to apply a machine learning approach to identify medication-naive ADHD patients and healthy control (HC) groups using task-based fNIRS data. Methods: fNIRS signals from 33 ADHD children and 39 HC during the Stroop task were analyzed. In addition, regularized linear discriminant analysis (RLDA) was used to identify ADHD individuals from healthy controls, and classification performance was evaluated. Results: We found that participants can be correctly classified in RLDA leave-one-out cross validation, with a sensitivity of 0.67, specificity of 0.93, and accuracy of 0.82. Conclusion: RLDA using only fNIRS data can effectively discriminate children with ADHD from HC. This study suggests the potential utility of the fNIRS signal as a diagnostic biomarker for ADHD children.
